End of Elm

The service and ambience is nice but I ordered the scallops from the «Main» dishes… AND IT ONLY HAD TWO SCALLOPS! Are you kidding me? It was too small to even be an appetizer! How in the world can you call two scallops a Main Dish!!! I had to go get dinner after dinner.

This restaurant has a great brunch! The set menu is a good deal and Bloody Mary bar is great.

I went for the $ 18 brunch that includes coffee and a mimosa. I got the chicken and waffles since I got a recommendation from an acquaintance. Initially I was iffy about the hollandaise vs my traditional syrup, but it was so good! The chicken had great flavor and the waffles had a good consistency. Even the addition of green onions was a good touch. I would definitely take someone here if they came in from out of town.

Used to frequent this place when I worked in Morristown last year. Not in the area anymore, but will certainly stop there any time I find myself in Morristown in the future. Very knowledgeable and attentive bar staff. Excellent craft beer selection. Due to my late work hours, I was never able to get there before the kitchen closed. But if I ever get a chance to eat there, I’m sure I’ll make this a 5-​star review, as I’ve only heard good things about the kitchen. Definitely a good spot to check out if you’d like to avoid the «bro» scene that seems to plague the area, and go for something a bit more low key.

Food was great, but service was really poor. Waiter couldn’t get the order right. Three out of the six people in my party needed to return our orders. Also, bartenders took 10+ minutes to get a drink.

This place was just solid everywhere. Everything we ordered was between good and great. Cocktails, Appetizers, Mains, all of it was working. The vibe inside is fun and loud but in a more sophisticated kind of way. To get there you have to park next to these train tracks and walk by this crazy tattoo parlor place where everyone outside can stand watching everyone get tattooed inside. Kind of gross people in there IMO but you forget about them wasting their money and employment opportunities by the time you take a sip of your first crazy cocktail. I had one with egg whites in it, but I’m adventurous.

My girlfriend and I love End of Elm. I’ve actually taken here for our anniversary twice since our first time. While not your traditional fancy place for an anniversary, the restaurant always delivers a great night out. Its very cozy and ideal for sharing which can be more romantic than your traditional «what are you getting?» kind of place. The food selections are fun and delicious with items like the Tuna Tartar pizza or Chicken and Waffles. The drink menu is inventive and has something for everyone including your craft beer fan with a ton of selections on tap. This is also a great place for friends as I’ve brought a friend who works at a high-​end steakhouse and he can’t wait to go back. I definitely recommend it and will continue to be a faithful patron.

My friend and I went to End of Elm for brunch. After driving around for a little while, we finally parked in an alternate parking lot and decided to walk to the restaurant. It’s tucked away in an odd space right next to the train station. But once we got there, we saw that it was really cute on the inside.
It wasn’t super busy for brunch, but I’m not complaining. We were seated promptly and our waiter was super friendly. The brunch deal is $ 18 for a brunch entrée and coffee, along with juice or a mimosa. I also sprung for a $ 10 Bloody Mary because End of Elm has a Bloody Mary bar. You get your glass with the vodka in it, and then there’s a bar with horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, multiple types of hot sauce, Bloody Mary mix, pickles, olives, bacon, etc. I mixed my drink and it was fantastic.
For the food, my friend got the breakfast tostada, which was a good size. I tried the tuna pizza. It was a bit small — I wish I received a bigger plateful — but it was really delicious. I thought that the rice «crust» was a really interesting take on pizza. I think that brunch, for the price, was a good deal, but if the tuna pizza is the same size altogether, I would assume that the food might be a bit pricey for the size.

We love this place for dinner. We ate here earlier this week and had appetizers and all were delicious — tuna pizza, nachos, beets– simply great. Also the atmosphere was very lively.
We give 4 stars for dinner.
However we just finished brunch and it was a bit of a disaster. We rate brunch two stars. They ran out of eggs — how does that happen for brunch? It wasn’t even crowded. We waited an hour for the food. Unfortunately we found the service was very poor. We had to ask for more coffee, we had to ask for our table to be cleared and we asked two different people to bring sugar. The manager was kind and checked on us and offered complimentary drinks but it was too little to late.
We will definitely go back for dinner but will not return for brunch.

Reading the menu we were not sure what to expect, some of the combinations sound a little odd (brussel sprouts with cheetos!!!) but when the dishes started coming we could not get enough. The tuna pizza was fantastic, the crispy rice ‘crust’ was like nithing I had ever tasted before. The mole nachos are a must. The cocktails were good, but on the pricey side. Yes I did have to try the brussel sprouts which were awesome! I would eat here again.

The food was really good.
First I had their version of nachos. For dinner I had the salmon with the cauliflower latkes. Dessert was a toffee tarte with whipped cream.
The waiter was very friend and knowledgeable. The restaurant was very cozy and unexpectedly nice based on the fact that it’s near the train station.
I would definitely go back. Hopefully one day when they bring back the paella I was hoping to have had last night.

This place, on a Tuesday night, had excellent cocktails, amazing food and live music! The brussel sprouts and Cheetos were probably my fav. Second best was either my cocktail or the prosciutto wrapped fig or the cheese platter. So much yum! Service was inexperienced and a little slow, but the atmosphere made up for her.

I popped in for an afternoon snack that turned into a meal. I got the deviled egg. Yum! Then the egg torta with a truffle cream sauce which was amazing. I will absolutely be back here because I need that torta in my life again. Hoping to try their dessert offerings next time. As weak as their happy hour as their prices are a bit strong.

Nice, little place near the train station. Hip small plates derived from an extremely creative chef. The cocktails are expensive at $ 12 a pop but there was a very extensive signature drinks menus along with an ample wine list that boasted a refinement that was appreciated. Perhaps refinement isn’t the right word; let’s just say it was obvious that the chef and owner have a vision, and a niche, which were both pleasing. The craft beer situation didn’t seem to warrant much attention but I’m not sure that it was supposed to.
We ordered the stoli dolli, which is a pineapple vodka mix, and a jalapeño margarita. We had two each. Our first tapas were the lamb chili pita bread with chick peas and feta cheese. Very tasty. We also had potato and goat cheese pierogis. Fried onions and aioli on side. We had a street corn on the cob too. We split it. It had butter, paprika, salt and pepper in different section of the cob and it was delicious.
As an entrée, in this tapas lounge, we had the chicken & waffles which were heavenly! I’m serious… I felt as if what was happening to my taste buds warranted an immediate deep breath, shut of the eyes, and a moment to savor what the geniuses in the kitchen had created. It was lights out! Butter and syrup with the warm waffle was light and fluffy. The chicken was either a thigh or a tenderized breast. No bone. Crunchy and purely American. Deep… deep in the culinary skill of whistling Dixie. Bravo EoE, Bravo!
The brussel sprouts and Cheetos were actually spot on. The sprouts were cooked in a bit of oil. If you’re an adventurous fat kid at heart or someone that will actually tolerant the taste of bs, try them.
So…4 drinks. $ 50
4 tapas ranging in price from corn on the cob ($ 5) to the chicken & waffles ($ 17).
2 people, great time and comfortable atmosphere when we were sat in the lounge area. Good times. $ 95 bill. Worth it.

This place introduced me to sea beans. If you’ve never had them, go find some — superb greens grown in marshy areas, crunchy/​salty naturally, they were the perfect accompaniment to the grilled octopus I had for dinner.
Great food, one of my dining companions said that the burger was one of the best he’d ever had. Since he’s a Chicagoan, that’s sayin’ something.

This place has a nice mix of unique appetizers, entrees and drinks that you can’t get any where else in town. If you’re looking for new and different food this is a go to place. For example they serve Cheetos Brussels sprouts which where surprisingly very delicious. Make sure you make a reservation otherwise you may have to sit in the lounge area instead of the main seating.

Incredibly good seafood paella and avocado salad… this gastropub is tucked away and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is very nicely decorated and cozy– perfect for the afterwork scene. Will definitely be back for a more traditional tapas experience.

Really cute and cozy place but price didn’t match the food and service was mediocre.
I came here because I saw that they had the semi-​rare NJ craft beer, Carton «Regular Coffee» on tap. I sat at the bar around 6pm on a Friday, got my beer and ordered the lobster roll, because I’m a sucker for those. The lobster roll was $ 19 and out came a tiny over-​buttered lobster roll with maybe a half pound of lobster meat and a crap load of fries (see photo). I was not impressed. Then I sat for the next 20 minutes with my glass empty before I was asked if I wanted another beer. I get that they were busy, but maybe then they need more bartenders.
The place and décor itself was cute, modern and dimly lit, making it a decent date spot. It’s definitely a good spot to pick up single Generation X’ers, as they were a-​plenty and ready to mingle. It started to fill up pretty good around 7pm as the long bar area got 2 deep and tables were almost all taken. That was about the time I left and it seemed like it was going to be a very nice atmosphere for the evening.
I really wanted to like this place. Maybe I’ll give them another try and update the review if they do better.

This is my favorite spot in Morristown. It’s great for a date or grabbing drinks after work. The management has always been very helpful and I have not experienced any rudeness that some of the other Unilocalers have mentioned. The owner has been present all 4 times I visited EOE and personally welcomed me and made some small talk. The ambiance and cocktail menu provides a NYC vibe that draws in the young professional crowd from the town.
EOE also features a diverse tap menu. It looks like they have been expanding even more over the past 6 months. They have been regularly featuring Tap Takeovers and I think they are the only restaurant in Morristown to offer this type of special event. On a recent visit, I tried a flight of various beers from the Forgotten Boardwalk brewery. I would recommend ordering a flight to try the different beers on tap. The cocktails are masterfully crafted. I ordered a Sweet Devil which was had a nice tangy flavor to it.
The food is excellent. I enjoy the tapas or small plates style. It lets you try a lot of the different options on the menu. I tried the sashimi pizza, chicken and waffles, and nachos. All were excellent. I would suggest holding the chicken and waffles plate until the end of your meal since the sweetness of the syrup satisfies you like a dessert.

My friends just moved to Morristown and every Friday they explore a new restaurant. So last Friday, my girlfriend and I joined them as a double date.
Décor: When you first walk in the place, you notice the décor. It’s an open atmosphere with a long bar towards the end and huge long table in the middle where various groups and people were seated. This setting allowed for a ‘family’ conversation even if you weren’t part of that group. The rest of the place had wooden tables and if you sat at the tables that were along the wall, you were sitting in style with a huge cozy couch. I would describe the style of a modern industrial wood construction.
Food: This is tapas style with a relatively small menu, which I kind of like because to me, it means they specialize in food. Our waitress recommended that we order 5 or 6 plates since there are 4 of us. We ordered 5 and they were:
(1) ground lamb with pita
(2) sliders – there were 3 sliders, one was made out of ground lamb, one beef, and one
(3) mahi mahi tacos on soft corn tortillas
(4) pork quesadillas
(5) sirloin medallion
All were incredible, but hands down, the ground lamb was my favorite. It came with toasted/​crispy pita, feta cheese, and some grilled veggies on top. They portions were all pretty decent and 5 plates satisfied all of our hungers.
Drinks: They have a great selection of craft beers. You can create your own flight of 4 beers (4 oz. each) or go for full pints. We did a combo of both. We got an All Day IPA, Double Trouble, Devils Dancer, Dissenter, and Rubaeus fruit beer. My favorite was the devil dancer, 12% ABV IPA, hoppy taste, and paired well with all my plates. My least favorite was the Rubeaus fruit beer. I enjoy beer with minimal fruit elements like Shocktop or Sam Adams cherry wheat, but this was an intense fruity flavor, kind of like juice.
Service: Our waitress was awesome. She did a great job explaining the menu and advising us on the 5 – 6 plate, which worked our great. She also explained that the food is all prepared to order, which I’m finding less and less these days.
Location: One last point in the review. If you feel like getting away from the main strip of Morristown and not being surrounded by tons of people, this is a nice quiet location with convenient parking.
