I almost passed this place by this morning at 7:30 because it used to be just an ice cream store, but I saw some cars and the sign that said open… mooove over old idea of Morrison, the grass is greener here. Dan who is the manager and was working this smallish, tightly decorated place(in this case, tight means spot on). Sat at the bar, chatted with the Je’fe’, in this case the chef. Ordered huevos rancheros, couldn’t have been happier frijoles like you would get in Mexico, papas, huevos to order, great corn tortilla. Home made chipotle sauce at the table, salsa was muy bien… so good. The wait staff were 2 lovely ladies who were attentive and not too overbearing. I watched them wait on a few other people, they did an amazing job with the little girl there with her hungover Dad and doting grandma. This place deserves a visit, take a nice drive into the town of Morrison on a Sunday morning and they will be open to serve you from 7:30A to 2:00P. They apparently have a nice evening experience and I will surely be back to check the vibe before a Red Rocks show or 5… Dan and I talked about a few things at the end of my visit and he was accomodating, not defensive and open to feedback… heck I am bouncing them 1 more star to 5… I cannot find a chink in this moo… that’s right I had a cinnamon roll at the end of the breakfeast… it was the bomb and topped it with a nice cup of cream and sugar with some coffee, just how I like it.

The latte selection is delicious and the food is good. I got the cheese steak sand which and my date a burger. Both were fresh, hot and we cleaned our plates. The wait is a bit but it has that mountain/old town feel so things are going to run a little slow. There are signs all over about not being impatient ;)

This is my new favorite breakfast restaurant in Morrison. The reviews were low so I was slow to try this place other than for an ice cream cone in the summer. It is great, friendly service, good drinks, excellent fresh food. The green chili is delicious, with good spice. Had a wonderful cinnamon roll. Can’t wait to try the other menu items. Will be back soon!

Honestly, for this caliber of restaurant, we were impressed. Probably the best bowl of soup I ever ate in any restaurant, including the swank place up the canyon we’d eaten the night before. Absolutely home made. My husband said the patty melt was outstanding. The staff was friendly and efficient, the place was clean. What else is there?

Got the special this AM. Two blue berry pancakes. Almost no berries but huge cakes. Wife’s burrito looked way better. The owner was eating next to us and no one ever asked us if our food was good so I never felt comfortable telling them about our experience. No one ever even said thanks or have a nice day or anything. Hoped for more I have too say.

Love blue cow, the atmosphere is amazing, the food is excellent. The last time we came in we had the corn beef hash and breakfast burrito. I eyed someone’s oatmeal and that looked divine too!

My review is for mid-week breakfast! This is a favorite of the group i workout with at red rocks once a week. The staff is friendly, the coffee continues to come. The orders come out correct — i order just 2 eggs over easy… and they don’t harass me! The place is cute, the parking is not bad for down town morrison I can’t say i’d make the trek on a weekend, just cause of the crowds, but mid week it’s a great choice!

Needed a place that was dog friendly to eat before our hike. Found this place. Estimated wait was 10 – 15 minutes and took 40. When we did get back to the patio there were many free tables not sure what the wait was about. Waiter was pretty rude. People who got sat after us got their food before us and the food was not worth the wait. BLTs were boring and they were out of avocados on top of it. Chocolate shake was good though. Sweet potato fries tasted like onion rings. Will not go back.

Only because I can’t give it 0 stars. Complete joke. Took 45 minutes to process 9 people getting soft serve ice cream. 4 out of 9 were incorrect and had to be re-made. Watched 3 separate groups leave after waiting 20+ minutes in line with no service. Don’t waste your time on this dump!

I’m really surprised this isn’t rated higher. Ate there this morning(Saturday at 8:00). Got seated right away. Good consistent service throughout the meal. Coffee stayed topped off. Breakfast was delicious. Had the Morrison Scramble(essentially a Denver scramble with ham, cheese, tomato and peppers) with sourdough bread and diced potatoes. Everything tasted fresh. Portions were very good. Wish I could’ve eaten it all! Would definitely come here again for breakfast when I’m in Morrison again. Prices very reasonable compared to similar types of diners.

Food was good, but the service was outstanding! Needed a dog friendly patio and one of the servers was nice enough to call us when a table became available. The amazing service continued throughout the whole meal. Great place to stop after walking around Red Rocks!

Wished it was a better experience, pricey, small portions and I could see the bottom of my coffee cup for most of my meal, yet they were not that busy. Like I stated, liked forward to trying the place out and was disappointed a little bit.

Wasn’t sure what to expect based upon reviews by others. The Cow was very busy on this Saturday morning and seating for our group took some time, not complaining however — just be prepared if you have a larger party. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffees were all good, from the hot black stuff to the espressos. Ordered and meals arrived, everyone seemed pleased with their selections. The highest praise I can offer is the willingness to return and try something else the next time I’m in the area.

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and this place was packed! I figured it must be good. No disappointment here. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. I also sampled fried eggs over medium with bacon, crispy. My wife’s breakfast was great and she mentioned the fruit bowl was one of the best. We had great service and had an opportunity to meet the owners. They are very attentive to their customers. We will be back for sure!!! All I can say is WTF«what tremendous food»!

Blue Cow, a long standing Morrison Breakfast joint, recently changed hands and the new owners have really improved it! Customer service, seating, and even the menu have improved! The back patio was closed in the last time I went, so I am not sure if it is open anymore to the elements. My favorite is always the heuvos rancheros, and my breakfast buddy got the french toast. It was delicious!

I am giving this place 2 stars even though the only thing I tried was their water. My wife and I stopped in for dinner on our way to a concert at Red Rocks. There were 2 other small groups but the rest was empty. We sat down and ordered with high hopes. After about 10 min of waiting for our food 2 other people came in and sat at the bar and ordered. While we continued to wait the people at the bar received their food and began to eat. The food looked good(hence 2 stars). 30min after ordering our food we could not wait any longer. I walked up to the bar and asked when our food would be ready as we would have to leave. The woman checked with the kitchen and told us it would be at least another 5 min. I told here I couldn’t wait any longer, she was not rude but offered no apology for the food taking so long. I got the sense that this is normal as she didn’t seem to alarmed. We will not be going back. In addition to our bad service the table behind us didn’t receive their full order, it was the kids food that didn’t show up. As a result the kids were hungry and started to get louder and louder and more unhappy. Again I don’t think I heard the waitress apologize she just said«oh im not sure how we forgot that» Others may have a better experience and the food may be amazing, but we will never know. Good luck!

If we had decent service and timely food and drink delivery, I would have given this place 5 stars since our dogs could join us on the patio. We ordered Chips and Salsa before our food, and about 20 minutes later our server came up to us and said, «Oh, you ordered that, right? I forgot to put it in». Seriously, it’s chips and salsa. I ordered a margarita with the appetizer, and it came out even later than the chips and salsa. I then ordered a steak burrito, and after only 5 minutes of having our salsa come out, a PORK burrito came out. I waited 15 minutes for SOMEONE to come around so I could ask what protein I was served, and finally the manager came by. He thought it was chicken, went to check the order, and our server rung in Carnitas. After that, our server decided to vanish and we had a new lady. They ended up taking my burrito off the tab(I didn’t even ask, it was a nice surprise when we got it). The burrito in fairness was alright, just not steak. And to wait almost 30 minutes for chips and salsa because our server forgot is just ridiculous. It was a Saturday mid-day lunch, I’d hate to see them on a weekday. We *might* come back, really only because the dogs can go, but we’ll probably just stick to the bar(the margarita was great) and apps(if they arrive).

Chorizo scramble, French toast and crispy bacon. Great hole in the wall for breakfast. The Chorizo Scramble was a special for the day. Parking is either in the small lot or on the street. Do be surprised if you have to wait to eat as it is a pretty popular spot. There is seating in the«back» however during the winter months it can be quite chilly even with the propane heater that is running. We sat just inside the door and were still a little cold. Overall the food was great and we will look at coming back again in the future to try more of the breakfast menu.

We were headed back to Denver and stopped here for a bite to eat at lunchtime. People were real nice and the food was solid diner food. I had the burger and fries and everything was good. I saw people lined up outside for ice cream and was inspired to order a root beer float. It was delicious and a perfect treat for a hot day. This seems like a great spot to stop and grab a cone to nibble on as you wander Morrison.
