History

Established in 1999.

Ruby Begonia’s is the sweet little shop in the middle of the block! Located near the Illinois-Michigan Canal, our charming boutique has been in historic downtown Morris for nearly 17 years! In early 2014, childhood friends Jessica and Sheila took over the shop from the original Ruby, Monica who left us for the far warmer shores of North Carolina. The new ownership brought not only a new look, but a number of new lines as well!

I lived in Morris most of my life and how was I not aware of all the cute stores in town? Ruby Begonia’s is my top favorite. While the clothes and hand-made items are very expensive, it’s worth checking out. I received a hand-knitted shirt from Ruby’s for birthday and I have never loved an article of clothing more. It’s also a beautiful store with all kinds of accessories, too. I try to stop in whenever I visit the fam.

In another lifetime I dated a guy from Morris and I thought to myself, Morris, where is Morris?
About 35 miles west of Joliet, that’s where!
And they have some charming stores there.
But this one may just be the most charming of them all.
Get your gal pals, come to Morris for some tea and knock about town doing some shopping. Make sure you come here and if you leave without buying something, well, quite frankly, I am disappointed in you. You drove all this way and didn’t get some cute item?
I bought two exquisite blue birds intended for Christmas trees but used by our family in the memory of a dear member who flew away from us too soon. They were even on sale but the lady wrapped them like I had spent a million bucks on the pair. I was able to give them as a present without doing a thing.
Ruby and I think you will really like this place, come on, give it a try!
