Aardvark & C has a large variety of high-​quality quilting fabrics in its over 3,000 bolt collection and carries hand-​dyed wools, patterns, notions, and quilting books. The shop also offers a wide array of classes, from beginner level to more advanced and includes hand and machine techniques. In addition to its quilting products, the Aardvark has a large assortment candles, cards, collectibles and seasonal decorations and gifts.

History

Established in 1987.

The Aardvark Quilt Shop was founded in 1987 by owner, Sally Alworth. Originally located in the Morris County Mall, The Aardvark moved to its present location on Speedwell Avenue in 1992.

Sally, the owner of Aardvark & C, opened the shop in 1987 and has been helping customers make beautiful quilts and choose coordinating fabrics ever since! Her energetic and friendly attitude is well known and she is always ready to help a crafter in need.

Great fabric store! (NOT a knitting store! Unilocal classification is incorrect.) I stopped by to pick up a pair of knitting needles and they were very nice… Fabric is gorgeous, a lot of neat cotton batik… But no knitting supplies. 4 Stars for the store, minus 1 for incorrect classification.

Sally was very nice and she hooked me up with advice and supplies for constructing my first quilt. She also offered to help me square it up once the piecing was complete. There was a good selection of quality fabrics and an abundance of books competitively priced in this small, independently owned shop. Since I purchased my fabric there, I got a small discount on the accompanying hard goods. I recommend Aardvark for sure over the next available option: Jo-​Ann fabrics.
