Wagner RV Repair

When our RV broke down in Joshua Tree it was towed to Wagner. It was already 6:00 when we arrived, but two mechanics stayed until 7:30 trying to repair our vehicle that night. As it turned out, VW parts were required that needed to be ordered, so the repair took two days. But Roger from Wagner’s drove us to 3 car rental places in Yucca Valley until we finally found an available vehicle, from Enterprise. So at least we got to enjoy the national park while our RV was being repaired. The guys and gal at Wagner were extremely helpful in every way.

Dave has been an amazing help, I was was clueless about my 5^th wheel and he made it roadworthy and safe to travel with. And he showed me how to use everything, he was also quick and professional. Ill never think twice about using another rv place to fix what needs fixing. Thanks Dave and happy rv’ing ;)

Requested generator repair and while they made a service call, they did not complete the repair which resulted in no use of our generator 2 hours after they left. After many weeks of calls, cancelled apps and promising to stand behind their work and customer service — they agreed to refund the monies paid. Now 2 weeks later there is no payment and again we as customers are the ones following up with this business on the status. As much as I thought I could stand behind the customer service which is so important these days — this is not the case for this business.

Wagner RV was amazing. They fixed everything within the time frame promised! They were friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly the price was right. I will continue to utilize my new found RV hospital. Thanks again and Happy Holidays:-)

We have had two experiences with Wagner. Both of them were rough. We eventually got our item fixed, but after lots of frustration and delay. Communications are very unreliable, as are promised completion dates.
Here’s a tip — call Sterling in Lake Elsinore instead.

Wagner RV specializes in making appointments they do not plan to keep. Not returning phone calls, blaming each other for poor communication and even worse customer service.
I have been trying to get them to show up for a service appointment that they made with me for going on 5 weeks. They finally showed up yesterday and even after leaving multiple messages with my name and contact number the tech claimed no one gave him my number so he was driving around our RV Park aimlessly looking for me on the wrong lot.
They did a few things. Not the things they were sopposed to do like fix the fridge! I was told 3 weeks ago they had ordered the kit needed to fix it. The tech claimed he knew nothing about it. They said they were coming back today to finish up. When asked what time they said Morning. It’s almost 11:00 and no call no show. No returned call either.
What a shameless waste of time. These guys are a bunch of clowns! You have to select at least 1 star or your rating won’t be posted. Otherwise I would select negative stars.

I’ll write a longer review later, but let me save you some trouble. Don’t take your RV here or to their Indio location. My RV visited both locations for a total of 5 ½ months and the work was still not 100% complete. I had purchased my RV used, but it was in full working condition. I took it to Wagner to have it spiffed up a bit and it was returned to me with several things broken. I wish I could give them zero stars.

I was driving on the freeway and I started to hear a funny noise coming from my RVs engine. I pulled over to check things out… but I’m not much of a mechanic. So just to be safe, I decided to drive it on over to Wagner RV Repair.
Once I got there they were able to help me immediately. Turns out I had a bad belt. They had a new belt on within an hour! I was shocked!
Not only was the service fast, but the staff was very helpful and friendly!

Heading out to Ocatillo Wells we stop by storage and pick up the trailer. It had been there for five months. The generator wouldn’t start. Go figure. Unilocaled a RV place on our way and found this place. The owner told us to come on by and they can fix it right away. He also told me that if he wasn’t there to go around back and ask for Robert. Robert was great and did a full carb clean in 40 minutes and we were on our way. Never saw the owner and Robert had no idea what to charge us. Paid an hour minimum and a thank you tip to Robert.

Stopped in unannounced with a minor emergency. RV door would not open from outside. They sent a mechanic out to the highway to take a look. He knew the tools he would need and brought them with him. He took the door latch assembly apart, tinkered with it for a few minutes and got it working. I asked him «what do I owe you?» and he replied «nothing». Yes, it only took him 10 minutes but I was floored! I slipped him $ 10 and said «I’ll be back» and I will. REVISED: Door won’t open now so, true to my word, I’m trying to go back for the repair. Called several times Saturday morning and left a message & phone number but as of noonish on Monday no return call. Still don’t know their hours & days of operation, but now I know they don’t return calls. Hesitant to drop off my megabucks RV to a company with customer service habits like that, but I owe them a 2^nd chance so I’ll try again & update the review should the situation warrant it.
IF YOU WANT STRAIGHT TALK, TRUTHFULNESS, CALL BACKS & PROMISES FULFILLED… Move along. Nothing to see here. I couldn’t tell if they were bad business people or outright liars but now I see they’re both. Oh, you’ll get the work done eventually, IF you stay on top of them. And they’ll do what you ask. kind of/​sort of. But if you ask for a specific item to be installed don’t be surprised if they install something kind of/​sort of similar. There are 1 or 2 capable people working here, or rather, at the Indio shop but the people in charge are a Billie Bob kind of joke that will lie and bullshit you to no end if you call and ask why no one showed up when you were promised and no one bothered to call you. I was told 3 times someone would be at my house in the morning and 3 times no one showed up. Not once did anyone call to say «we got held up» or «we can’t make it» or any other excuse for not showing. No, they saved the excuses for the next day when I called and said «what happened?».
The bad news, repair wise, is that they worked on my RV reefer, or at least they said they worked on it, and the next time I took the RV out the problem was still there. I believe they worked on it because it seemed a little worse than it was when I took it in. The good news is that once I told them it was still bad, instead of saying «bring it back», they said we’ll send our top notch reefer guy to your house. Sweet. The bad news is, as I said before, no one ever showed up or even called. When I called after the 2^nd no show, I was told the reason they didn’t show up as promised was that they «had to order a part». I wondered what part since they supposedly worked on it and adjusted the pilot flame and it didn’t fix it so what part were did they order without looking at it again? «The part will be in Monday and we’ll be at your house Monday, Tuesday at the latest.» No show. No Call. I called them and was told «we had to backorder the part. I can show you the paperwork.» Uh huh. And the reason you didn’t call and let me sit there all morning waiting for you… Silence. When their top notch reefer guy and his driver/​translator did finally show up, he made quick work of things. He adjusted the flame (I thought they already did that) and said «No» when I asked if they brought the part that was on order then back ordered. They didn’t know anything about any part being ordered. The good news is that the adjustment by the guy that actually knew what he was doing seems to have solved the problem. The bad news is that it took a month of frustration, phone calls, trips to the shop when no one returned calls and way more bullshit than was necessary to «get ‘er done». I don’t know how they’re still in business but my assumption is because there is nobody else up here to run them out of town. One word: FRUSTRATING.
