omg. I’ve been a U2 fan since 1983… I’ve never seen them in concert… until last night. Fortunately my wife insisted we go. What an incredible show. Just phenomenal!

Bono almost tripped during the first time. I am not sure what is wrong with these guys. First Edge falls off and then Bono trips during the opening number. Being the second of a series of a 4 show run in LA the boys have their footing a bit more. It’s also LA which has a different vibe all on it’s own. The problem is that being LA there is an attitude of entitlement, jadedness and«been there done that,» therefore, it’s the hard core fans in the GA pit that seem really into it. There was some HEAVY celebrity spotting being LA, most seemed to be genuinely into it while others were clearly guest listed ’cause it was the place to be. I personally loved the performance and was really really into it. I went ape shit during the Electric Co. Any song off Boy is my favorite. To be honest I wasn’t feeling Vertigo and neither was Bono. He was phoning this in and I think most people were bored. It’s still a fun song to jump up and down to, however, if it left later on in the tour I actually wouldn’t miss it so much. Bono also missed some lyrics. During this song I was paying more attention to The Edge’s guitar playing which is something that I haven’t had a chance to do on the other dates. Very good version of Iris even though Bono last breath during the bridge. He had trouble hitting the low notes and rushed to hit the high note that I could tell that it thinned out before the chorus. Iris is one of my fav songs still from the album. Not tired of hearing it yet. The more I think about it the more this song reminds me of something off the October album. What happened to the confetti or pages from the Bible and Alice in Wonderland at the End of Sunday Bloody Sunday? Was that just a Vancouver opening day thing? Best performance so far of an acoustic Sunday Bloody Sunday. Bono had some tears at the end of the song when the bomb sound was about to go off. The transition between Sunday Bloody Sunday and Raised by Wolves still sends chills through me. I will be honest in saying that before the tour I had to Wiki the car bombings in Ireland that this was in reference to that they were poetically emulating. During Raised by Wolves The Edge played a completely different guitar riff just for fun. Bono pulled an impersonator on stage that looks like Bono. He was having fun with it even though he was tripped out looking at a version of his younger self. The audience loved it and so did I. They turned a lack luster tune into something fun with the impersonator. Bono gave the mic to the impersonator to finish the song while Bono played the Piano, the best highlight ever. The band were very tripped out. I rarely see Adam Clayton smile at Anything but this did it. Vocally this was the strongest version of Every Breaking Wave.
