Best Barbeque Ever

My food along with a co-​workers both tasted like lighter fluid. Went there on recommendation of a friend but we were both disappointed. Gentleman running the place was very friendly and nice but since we took the food to go we didn’t get a chance to let the owner know there was an issue with the food. Any good pitmaster should know you don’t need lighter fluid to start your smoker. A blow torch is the way to go.

I have eaten bbq everywhere from Texas, North Carolina, Mississippi, to Chicago and this may very well be THE Best BBQ Ever! Amazing bbq, sides to die for and the owner is the most welcoming person you will ever meet! Definitely making this a must stop at again destination!!!

The «Best» southern style BBQ in West Va and probably most surrounding states. Georgia style in the North! What also make the establishment a 5 Star restaurant is the hospitality of its owner, Charlie Heard” a past USA Olympian Wrestler. I would highly recommend a break from the road to try the food. I had a BBQ Sandwich, coleslaw and a sample of his collard greens. Keep up the good work Charlie. Can’t wait until the next time.

I thought the BBQ was good it was well prepared and well seasoned. I was also happy that the owner came out and said hi to everyone. I thought that was really cool. I had chicken and greens and beans. I was disappointed they didn’t have any potato salad. They also serve tasty I cream as well. I think it’s a place that you can enjoy a great meal outside:)

I don’t know if it’s the best ever but it’s the best in Morgantown. Ribs are moist and super-​flavorful. Southern fried chicken tastes like the fried chicken I enjoyed as a kid on the family farm in Arkansas. Green beans are superb. Cole slaw and baked beans are OK. Soft serve cones are huge and tasty. Shakes were thick — but could use a little more flavor. Looking forward to trying the catfish. The owner is proud of his food, super friendly and checks on his customers every few minutes. Hope he does well.

Stopped in here bc we needed some gas & dinner on our way from Baltimore to Cincinnati. The food was excellent, the service incredibly friendly. The owner came out to check on us multiple times, gave our dog a bone to chew on while we ate, & even gave the kids a few pieces of candy for dessert. I had the ribs and they were so tender I literally slid the bones out. My wife’s Santa Maria Italia sandwich was huge, but our 1yr old stole most of it and devoured it. Their ice cream was delicious, too. Some of the best BBQ in the country and we’ve lived all over! It’s now a permanent pit stop whenever we make this drive!

Living in NC, I am surrounded by the best barbecue in the country, but was surprised by how good this place was! The sauce was a bit too much for my liking, but the meat was flavored so perfectly! Such a great smokey flavor and was served on soft, thick, butter toast. Great meal, but would have been all that much better with fresh coleslaw. The coleslaw they serve is probably purchased in a huge vat– too watery, to shredded, and didn’t taste all that fresh.
All that said, the staff seems super friendly and the owner shows a lot of pride in the place by walking up and speaking to every customer. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in town to try their fried chicken and green beans.

They had a great smokey recipe on their pork and they gave my dog a big smoked pork shoulder bone to chew on while we ate

Stopped by here for the first time since they changed the place, and I must say it is superb. Those green beans taste like grandma’s green beans! Anyway, I had the Italia sandwich (I forget the actual name of it but I think it said Italia). Exceeded my expectations. The pulled pork was flavorful and smokey, the bread soft and crunchy.
The wait after ordering is about 10 minutes, but that’s to be expected as this is true southern cooking. Quality. You can do what I did and get a hillbilly mess to accompany you during your wait =].
The owner came out to personally greet us with a genuine smile on his face portraying sincere happiness. He’s a very gracious man, and you can tell he is passionate about his business and will do anything necessary to satisfy his customers. Based solely on that, I give the place 5 stars. It made the food taste that much better.
Do yourself a solid and lather up those fingers with some tasty pork!

Stopped here for dinner. I had the rib dinner and it was amazing. So much flavor and nice portion sizes plus it’s not expensive. Even better than the food was the owner. He came out to greet his customers personally and was cheerful and genuine. He is from Georgia so you know it’s true southern food. Everything is freshly prepared so it takes a few minutes to get your food but it’s worth it. Highly recommend it! :)

Nice little BBQ spot that is partnered with an ice cream place. I sampled the pulled pork which was really good, but my heart was situated on ribs, but they werent ready. So i went with my next option, I’m a sucker for fried chiken, with some bbq baked beans and onion rings. My LOML ordered grilled chicken, greens and beans.
My chicken was boneless, piping hot and pretty good though it lacked that crunch i associate fried chicken with and i should have asked for some hot sauce, the beans were okay, onion rings were good and they give you a roll of buttered bread.
I came un hungry and left very satisfied and full. The owner came out to check on us and everyone else outside and brought candy for the kids. I will definitely be back.
Our daughter had a vanilla ice cream on a cone and she devoured it, it was rather large as well.
For a medium drink, two dinners, and an ice cream our tab was only about $ 25.
