History
Established in 2011.
The idea of root & vine began with one simple word: value.
We wanted to provide our guest with the highest quality products, coupled with professional service in a comfortable dining atmosphere.
We found this great location in Historic Downtown Morganton sitting on the corner of King Street and W. Union. We fell in love with this 1901 historic building (which was once the home of a candy counter, a florist and several other restaurants), the town and the people.

Business Owner
Brian Miller is the Chef du Cuisine & Managing Partner along with Aimee Perez, Front of the House Manager.
Strong in classic French techniques paired with Southern influences show through today in Chef Miller’s cooking. He received his formal culinary education from the award winning culinary program at A-B Tech in Asheville, North Carolina. His careful, artful pairing of international influences with traditional southern elements produces a very unique dining experience. He feels very strongly about the use of local and sustainable products, and root & vine’s goal is to strengthen relationships with local Morganton farmers.
