Everything about Inn at Glen Alpine is first class! Best place we stayed in May 2015 while touring the South! Don’t hesitate to reserve any room because each one is so well thought out with beautiful appointments! Theresa and Craig are the hosts with it all! Rosa & Bill from California’s Wine Country.

Hidden gem close to Lake James! Rock on the porch, listen to the train whistle and enjoy Jane’s fabulous cooking and hospitality.

Staying at the Inn at Glen Alpine is more like staying with friend or family member than staying at a B&B. Jane runs a very nice, comfortable place. The house is beautiful, and you will feel at home staying there.

I’ve stayed here twice over the past few years. I absolutely adore Jane(innkeeper) and have felt completely comfortable each stay due to her pleasant hosting and hospitality. She takes such care in serving up the best Southern breakfasts and is very friendly but not intrusive in any way. I’ve stayed in the Queen Anne Room and the Magnolia Suite. Both rooms have awesome beds that you can just sink into and melt to sleep. There are plenty of local things to do — hiking, downtown Morganton for eats and shops, etc. — but this is also a good stopping point between Durham and Charlotte. The basics of a bed & breakfast are here — cleanliness and to-die-for breakfasts — but the other aspects like location, Jane’s detailed care and the house’s beauty and historic/vintage décor are what make me a repeat customer! Highly recommend!
