Quest Diagnostics

Had an appointment at 10:30. At 10:45 still sitting in waiting area. Person comes in front door and asks question about drug testing. Receptionist spends 15 minutes helping him out. I had an appointment! Why can’t you help me? 30 minutes after my appointment time they take my insurance info and then again I wait. I had a conference call at 11am so I drove to this quest location because they had an appointment at 10:30 so I wouldn’t miss my call. Finally took me in to room at 11:10! Don’t make an appointment here and expect them to be on time

This was my first (and last) visit to this lab. I had an 8am appt. for the one-​hour glucose test. I arrived at 740 to awaiting room full of people, but got my drink before my appt time, which seemed promising.
At 5-​minutes to the hour mark, I let the receptionist know I was approaching the hour mark. She didn’t even look up, just said ok and told me to have a seat.
At the one-​hour mark, they called 2 people back for non-​timed tests. I let the receptionist know I was at the hour mark, and was informed I’d have to wait because there was now no phlebotomist available.
At nearly 15 minutes past the one-​hour mark, I was finally taken back, and at the 75-​minute mark, my blood was finally taken.
Guess who gets to repeat the one-​hour glucose test because of the 15-​minute delay skewing my results. No apology, no explanation, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was informed there isn’t one. Which may explain the way things are run…

Short and sweet: Monday morning, should be open at 7 a.m. staff shows up at 7:30! The place is full of clients, (no place to even sit). I’m 3^rd in line and Diabetic,(sugar is dropping like a rock below 60). I ask the question: Don’t you think you owe all of us an explanation why your late! No answer from the staff. I asked to be taken care of very soon as to not pass out from low sugar, AGAIN nonresponse. Talked with a supervisor,(who wasn’t present), and the district manager about the problem. They said they would get back to me. So far it’s been 5 days! This wasn’t the first time I’ve had this happen at this site. May I suggest the office in Gilroy? Much better service. Very Very unprofessional staff.

Unfortunately I’ve not had the best experiences lately. Rude and dismissive techs. This am was the clincher. Apparently keys were lost, so we waited outside with a good 10 other people. When we were finally key in at 7:30, not a word, no explanation, no excuses, no apology. When confronted about that, the tech says she has nothing to say and there is no manager to talk to. A simple succinct apology would have settled everyone down. However we have to keep coming. No one wants to be here, be pleasant at least.

This place has really gone downhill in the last 2 months. All the olde timers have left. The receptionist is downright rude, the billing office seems confused and not just by my insurance. The latest is they lost my blood sample. When you go monthly for dire labs this is a huge problem. I have a private PPO and will be taking my services elsewhere. I feel fortunate to have choices. What’s so sad is that while you are waiting to have your blood drawn you hear all the employees complaining about various things. How they are understaffed, under payed and the newest handling of the blood blood samples where they «throw all the tubes into a big bin and lose samples.» Haha I guess I should of listened a bit more closely!

They never answer their phones, you can not get a live person for anything. They called old phone numbers that I did not put on the forms, so how would the test results come to me without them using the phone number I put on the exact form. Were kind of busy when I went in to drop specemin, so took awhile to be able to just drop it off.

I have been here multiple times and had extremely positive experiences but today, I’m very disappointed at how rude the phlebotomist was. I came in hoping to complete a one hour glucose test prior to closing. I did not expect to skip in front of anyone but hoped I could get the drink since I have to wait an hour anyways. (I don’t know how these things work, first time doing this!!!) I signed in at 244, and waited patiently at the desk to ask if this was possible. The phlebotomist working walks up to the counter, looks straight past me to a gentleman sitting and says «you were here first right? I can take you». She completely avoids eye contact with me when I’m clearly standing there to ask a question and takes the man back without so much as asking me to sit, or telling me she will be with me in a minute, etc. I decide to sit down and wait and ask her when she’s done. 13 minutes later (257 pm) I try to slowly ask «I’m sorry, I was hoping to do my one hour glucose test, I’m not trying to skip ahead just wondering if I can get the drink and continue waiting». She looks behind her at the clock, half-​laughs and says «you can’t do the test now» and she very rudely pointed to her list and said «I need to work through the list, I can’t just take you ahead of others». For the record, there was one person ahead of me… Not that it’s the most important detail but to get an idea of how «busy» it was. Now I get it, she was obviously overwhelmed and I understand being stressed, but this is no way to talk to people who are just trying to ask a question. I realize I came in cutting it close and was open to the idea that it may not happen today but to be so rudely dismissed and flat out ignored when I walked in and stood at the counter obviously hoping to ask a question, is absolutely unacceptable. Also as an aside, Quest, you have 3 signs posted when you sign in that says to let someone know if you have a timed test, which I do in fact have, and was just trying to ask about/​«let the staff member know» (exactly what the signage says).
I left, sat in my car for a few minutes and decided to go back in and figure out how this works so I don’t make the same «mistake» again. Plus, I don’t like being upset and wanted to try and get a better outcome and give her benefit of the doubt that I just caught her at a bad moment. When I went back in I told myself to smile and just ask «ok, so this didn’t go as expected, but when I do come back to do this test, what should I expect, I just want to make sure I can get it done next time»… The first thing she said to me was «look how busy I am, I just don’t have the time to explain things to you, I’m already a half hour behind schedule…» Again, I’m sorry you’re stressed, I get it, I’m an RN and we run behind schedule constantly and it’s frustrating but to tell someone that you don’t have time to explain how things work to someone that doesn’t know how they work…(?) how am I supposed to know? (Does that make sense?) It was just disappointing to be treated that way when I truly truly was just asking a question, trying to see if I could get something done when I knew and was prepared that it might not happen, but just hoping and wanted to try. Our conversation continued and did improve by the end, I could tell she is a good person and just extremely overwhelmed and overworked. Quest, get another person in there. To have one person having to do everything isn’t fair, I understand her stress and she shouldn’t be put in that position where she feels like she can’t answer questions and help people navigate a confusing system that is unfamiliar to many. For how much I get charged for these labs, I’m pretty sure you could hire a receptionist to handle the questions and logistics of everything so the phlebotomist can focus on her job and not feel so overwhelmed. Patient care and satisfaction should be a priority for you.

The ladies who work here are great. I’ve been going here to get my bloodwork done the past several months and it’s quick and painless each time. The only downside is that this location is small which makes wait times in the morning a bit long. However, booking an appointment online ahead of time will let you avoid the wait time so long as you come on time for your appointment.

This place is great! I had to have a blood test and read all the reviews for my local Quest labs and became very worried. While Morgan Hill is a bit out of the way it was so well worth going there. I am a real chicken when it comes to «blood things» and I was very nervous. The lady who drew my blood was wonderful, I needed 7 vials (for a full Thyroid panel) and she distracted me by asking me questions as the process went on. She didn’t hurt at all, I didn’t feel a thing and I did not even have the tiniest mark. The place is as clean as a new pin and, although I had an appointment, I arrived an hour early just in case I could be seen on a walk in basis — and I was. There was no wait and the reception was wonderful and welcoming. If you have terrified yourself by reading other reviews on Quest come to this one, it is the very best.

Nice people. Very painless to get my tests done. Been in here twice now and for both appointments there was a wait time of just a few minutes without an appointment.

Pretty disorganized on a Monday morning. I had an appointment, but the receptionist who told me to sit and wait is clearly overworked and unsatisfied with her job. Even with the appointment I still ended up waiting 25 minutes.

The place is generally efficient but it’s small. There are only 2 rooms and with a combination of walk ins and appointments, it makes for a long wait if you don’t happen to have an appointment.
The staff is nice and seem like they run the office as best they can. They should definitely have a third person to manage the front desk as it looks like the techs do the bloodwork AND manage the front desk.

Made appt for 10 am, arrived 10 min early. One person getting a blood draw and one other waiting. At 10:15 one staff takes a break and leaves and you can hear all the other staff in the back room gossiping. Now it’s 10:25 and one person at desk and one being drawn. What baloney. At 10:40 it’s our turn, yippee-​NO. It takes 40 minutes, actually 50, to do three blood draws? Where I work you’d be outta there.

I have been to Quest Morgan Hill for all of my pregnancy blood work. I have rarely had to wait more than a few minutes and have been treated very well at every appointment. Tiffany has taken my blood each time, and she is quick and makes the experience as painless as possible. Their hours are also extremely convenient. I would recommend this office highly!

I must get lucky every time I come here as I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes and I’ve never made an appointment. I usually come in the mid to late morning. I’ve been getting blood drawn every 3 months to check my cholesterol levels for about a year now, so I’ve been here 3 times now.
The staff is very nice and personable. They offer soothing small talk as they get in your veins. I hate needles and they have made me hate them less. They’ve never missed the vein and before I know it, I’m out the door, no problemo.
Make sure you remember that they close for lunch daily from noon to 1. My last stop in I found this out the hard way.

This place is very inefficient, especially Monday morning.
It is hard to make an appointment for the time you desired even you try a week ago.
The usual wait time is well over half an hour.
The staff were nice in general.
But the lady in charge is very bossy and mean.
She is always multi-​tasking: work on computer, talk on the phone and also chatting with patients she knows. As the result, she is holding everyone up.
Been to other quest, this one is the most inefficient place.
