Mothers & Babies First™ is mother, baby and family centered.

Our main focus is to provide affordable, in home breastfeeding support and counseling as well as education.

Also offered are private or small group, in home Happiest Baby on the Block® classes.

Jeanne Batacan is an active member of the Breastfeeding Task Force of Santa Clara Valley, and the Breastfeeding Task Force at St. Louise Hospital. Jeanne is also a lifetime member of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS).

History

Established in 2000.

Jeanne Batacan, owner of MBF, taught Childbirth and Breastfeeding education classes for several local hospitals, community education centers and private family resource centers for many years. She then became a certified «Happiest Baby» instructor and taught classes for the Harmony –Birth and Family center in Campbell.

Now retired from teaching classes in the community, Jeanne continues to provide private, affordable, in-​home lactation support and education as well as private Happiest Baby classes conveniently in her clients’ homes.

Jeanne lives in Morgan Hill and has been serving South County families since 2000.

Jeanne holds a California State teaching credential in Parenting Education. Certified by the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), Jeanne taught breastfeeding & childbirth classes for many years in Santa Clara County. Jeanne is also certified as a lactation educator/​consultant (UCLA), labor and postpartum doula (ICEA), and is a Happiest Baby on the Block instructor.

In 2003, Jeanne helped co-​found Bay Area Birth Information (BABI) and served on the Board of Directors for many years.

Jeanne, now retired, continues to provide lactation support and education as well as private Happiest Baby classes. She assists women in achieving their personal breastfeeding goals and provides support and guidance to both mothers and fathers.

Philosophy:

Jeanne believes that women who are informed, empowered, prepared and supported, have a much better chance of experiencing a safer and more satisfying birth and therefore, more success with the establishment of breastfeeding.
