You can find these tasty mushrooms at nearby Safeway stores. I don’t know why, but the walmart on Cochrane doesn’t even carry monterey mushrooms. Seems kind of silly when this is so close. I’m sure there’s a reason… But I’ve seen monterey mushrooms all the way in Utah at a walmart! Lol.

One pickup bed full and under is FREE! This is great stuff for gardens! I use it to amend my raised beds. I just bring 5 gallon buckets to fill.

I heard that you can get free compost from mushroom growers, so I called Monterey Mushrooms.
They give away free mushroom compost (up to 3 yds) weekdays, you should call for their hours. I’ve been told that it is hot compost, so it may need to sit for awhile before you can use it. I plan to amend my clay soil with it in hopes of planting veg someday. For now, I am digging out the bermuda grass and pre-​sprouting weed seeds: o)
Check out my photos for an idea of what to expect — they uploaded in random order. Bring a tarp and weights (I used pavers) or tie downs to cover your load. A pair of gloves and a small stiff rake might be helpful too!

Kept in the dark and fed sh*t!!! Sounds tasty huh!
You need to know where the stuff comes from that becomes who you are. With thousands of varieties, over a 1000 are poisionous. So thank GOD for the shroom company. Some think mushrooms have no nutritional value. Mushrooms DO have vitamins and metals good for the body. Also, they are high in fiber, and low in sodium and other bad stuff. But, most importantly, they’s delicious. It’s obviously a farm and distribution location. But, having the opportunity to see the facility, I respect the shroom a bit more.
