I was referred to Martin Lending by several friends and co-​workers. I gave Dennis a call and let him know that I was interested in refinancing. He encouraged me to meet with him so we can go over steps and information on the process. Prior to arriving, Dennis did his research on my property and gave me some tips/​suggestions based on his experience. He was very clear and answered my 1,000 questions with lots of patience. I was very appreciated that he did his research before arriving. We were able to go straight to the meat and potatoes. I was so comfortable with the information that l applied on the spot to continue the process with M. Lending. Once he received my credit score numbers and home value he went to work on my options. Again, spending lots of time explaining it to me and later that day to my husband. He made my husband and I feel very comfortable to ask all the questions we needed. The only fear I had was the possible length of completing all the necessary paperwork for the bank and going back forth with scanning and emailing like when I originally purchased my home. Dennis totally made this process so easy and fast. I was so surprised how fast things went and it closed a week sooner than expected. Dennis also made several suggestions and allowed us to make the right decision for our family. We appreciated his expert advice. At the time of signing, we totally appreciated Dennis meeting at escrow and go over all the documents before signing to make sure they were all correct and what we had discussed.
I have learned when buying and refinancing you want someone knowledgeable and experienced to work with. Dennis is the guy for the job. We have recommended him to all our friends and coworker on the excellent service. He will be our guy on our next purchase or refinance.

I have had two good experiences with Martin Group Lending. One for a VA rate reduction on our condo in Orange County and the other for a purchase of a house in Ventura. Dennis and Liz were very responsive and fast in getting things done to meet deadlines for both transactions. For the VA rate reduction, they got our rate reduced from 5% 30 year fixed to 3.5% 30 year fixed and it cost us nothing out of pocket. Our payments reduced significantly. Recently with our house purchase, we got 4.125% 30 year fixed. They originally told us to expect 4.25% but they moved quickly to get us the lower rate when rates dropped. We also got a 3K credit on top of that. We managed to close within the buyer deadline which was important because there was a secondary offer on the house at 40K higher than what we were paying. I highly recommend Martin Lending especially for VA related lending.

My experience with Martin Lending was not a positive one. I came to them seeking a refinance based on the recommendation of a trusted Realtor. I gave them my credit card information for the appraisal. When the quote for the appraisal came into their office, they gave authorization to the appraisal company to charge my card significantly higher than what I was quoted, without contacting me first. When I asked why I was charged extra, they simply stated that it must have been a mistake and to contact the appraisal company directly. The appraisal company provided me with time stamped emails showing the Martin Lending was fully aware of the additional charge, and did not inform me of it. They refuse to accept any responsibility. Unfortunately small claims isn’t worth the time.
