Central Coast Heating and Air Conditioning

Pretty disappointing experience getting a quote for a full system. They came out twice and asked a lot of questions. I was given a quote that was somewhat vague on exactly what equipment was being included etc (models etc.). I sent a long set of detailed questions and within 24 hours I received a response that they are no longer available to work on my project (despite me never actually giving a timeframe for the job).
Be warned !!!

Our outside unit stopped during the recent 100F+ weather. I called several places, including Central Coast. When Dave called me back I had already lined up another company for repair that could come sooner than Dave was able to. Even though I let him know that, he talked to me for several minutes and I laid out what had happened and the steps I had already taken to rule things out. He gave me his guess on what was wrong and let me know what a fair price for the replacement part would be. His guess was accurate! He made it clear he didn’t like people paying inflated prices for what they needed. I appreciate his concern and honesty… he’s someone I will definitely use in the future.

Dave was just here and is lovely! He looked at our system and gave us several options, trying to get us the most value for the dollar. He clearly knows what he’s doing!

Thank you Dave for fixing our air conditioning! Our pump had a crack in it, and it was leaking into the unit below us. He ordered us a new one and installed it the morning it came in. He is a very nice man and we will be using him again if we need.

This guy talks a good game. Stay away unless u wanna get gouged later. He spoke about his personal problems and history then gave a temporary fix. Then he lowers the boom on u trying to sell an entire package –AC and furnace-​which I later find out is unnecessary after his temporary fix could’ve been fixed right then and there. Buyer beware and get multiple estimates b4 spending the $ which amounts to the price of a small car.

I find Dave Lunning to be one of the most reputable business people. He helped us last year with a problem and this year simply did us a favor by stopping by and putting a small metal piece back in the control for our A/​C. He refused all payment, refused the tip that my husband offered him. I would always call him FIRST. One helpful hint: use star 82 and call him unblocked!

Dave came by on a weekend to fix some issues with our AC. He had come a few days prior to that, and offered up part of his Saturday to resolve our issue before the weather heated up. He is very sweet and trustworthy, and takes pride in his work.
Without hesitation, we will use him every time now.

I returned from a trip out of town to find that cold air was blowing out of my vents. I had changed my filters recently, but we’d lived in the house for 18 months without having any kind of check up on our HVAC. I found Central Coast Heating and Air Conditioning on Unilocal and decided to give them a try. Dave, the owner, is a wonderful guy. Our problem occurred on Christmas, but he showed up on Dec. 26 and was able to clean our sensors and do a look over on our heating unit. He was very personable, quick, affordable and he showed up on time. He was great with our dog and family, and he fixed the problem. I would definitely call him again!

I called Dave for an issue with our heater on the day after Christmas and he called me back within a few hours. He was able to diagnose our problem and quickly get a solve to it.

I called Dave at noon, he called back within an hour, and set up an appointment for the next day. He arrived right on the dot, and solved the problem in short order, for minimal cost.

Dave was referred to me by another AC repair person who could not schedule a service call as he was too busy. He said Dave is the only person he refers people to and now I see why: he is trustworthy and a class act. There was a leak in the vent of the AC unit of our rental property and we called for a service call. He returned my call within 10 minutes and took the time to explain the issue to a layperson (me) and my husband in two separate calls. He could have easily made a quick $ 100+ to come out for what he explained was a quick fix. Instead he instructed us on how to do it ourselves. He said if the quick fix (cleaning out the vent and replacing the filter) and he wouldn’t want to charge us for something we could easily do ourselves. And he assured us if that didn’t fix it he would be happy to come out and take a look at it. He even recommended that we leave extra filters with a reminder note where you replace it for our tenants so we don’t have this issue in the future.
It was so refreshing to find an honest human being on the other end of the phone rather than someone trying to take advantage of you for not having the technical knowledge they do. He has earned my trust and respect and you bet when we do have an AC issue we can’t fix ourselves, I will be calling him.

Our air conditioning unit stopped operating on the afternoon of the first day of 90 degree temperatures this year. From Unilocal recommendations, we chose Central Coast Heating and Air Conditioning and couldn’t have been happier. The owner, Dave, returned our call early the next morning and was actually at our home within 3 hours. He fixed the problem, gave us some good advice on future servicing and was just a very pleasant person to be around. We will definitely use Dave for any future AC or heating problems

THIS IS HOW BUSINESS SHOULD BE DONE
I was having a hammering problem with my Noritz tankless water heater after a water line break on my street. I called Dave based solely on his spotless Unilocal profile. I was not disappointed! Dave looked over my system configuration, and made a page full of recommendations (as I was frantically writing them down!) I need to order a few parts from Noritz and have some more routine plumbing work done, and then Dave will be back to get everything squared away. And how much did he charge for this service call? Nothing!
Highly recommended. We need more guys like Dave.

Yesterday my heating broke, my furnace just kept blowing out cold air, and the fan wouldn’t stop, nor would it pump out any heat, so I called Dave today. He was super busy and couldn’t come out and see me straight away — he did however talk my father-​in-​law through what he thought the problem was, and how to fix it. An hour later, and a new filter/​reset, and I’m back to being toasty warm again. Dave was so very helpful, when others could have tried to get the call out fee — finally an honest contractor! Highly recommend.

My A/​C broke over the weekend in August in 100+ degree weather when my husband was out of town, and he came on the weekend to fix it. He was professional, polite, and reasonably-​priced, and he did a great job. We’ve had no issues since!

Dave from Central Coast came out today to check on our furnace, which was only heating up the upstairs of the house. It turned out to be a quick fix, and he was in and out. He is VERY friendly, very professional, and returned my call very quickly. As soon as we spoke he made time THAT day to come and take a look. He is very customer oriented and we really appreciated this, as it is hard to come by these days! We will be contacting Dave with any further issues from here forward, and highly recommend him to anyone with heating or A/​C needs.

If you want an honest repair guy, Dave is THE One! He came on time for the job and saw immediately what was wrong with the furnace. Unilocalers got him right. He won’t rip you off and he is excellent in what he does.

Our heater broke and I couldn’t fix it myself. Called in the morning, got straight to Dave. Scheduled an apointment for the afternoon. He checked the system, installed the replacement part he had with him — done.

LOOKING FOR AC /​HEATING HELP? PLEASE READ!!!
We were having some Air Conditioning issues (more like lack of Air conditioning). We looked at a bunch of places on Unilocal and narrowed it down to two. I called both at like 9pm and left messages with both. Dave at Central Coast Heating called next day first thing (that is important to me because it shows professionalism returning calls right away) and I explained the issue. We set up an appointment for the next day. He showed up on time and got straight to work (came to the door with parts in hand!!!). In approximately 20 minutes we had icey cold air blowing out of out vents! I had a few other questions for him about our system and he took the time to explain and showed me how to maintain my AC and heating system. He knows his stuff and his pricing is very competitive!
****** On a side note. I work in Law Enforcement and are VERY cautious about who I allow in my home. We will be having Dave service our system from now on and will be referring my co-​workers to him. I am relaxed around him and don’t have to keep my eyes on him at all times like I have had to do with other companies. That is what you call. PRICELESS! ******

We couldn’t be happier with the work Dave performed on our house! We called him out about a year ago to take a look at our old, malfunctioning furnace. Instead of immediately saying we needed a new furnace, he really took a look at the whole house and made other recommendations (attic insulation, sealing air gaps, etc) before replacing the furnace — things he said we could do ourselves on the cheap. He was totally right, and saved us probably hundreds of dollars!
We were so happy that when it was time to actually replace the furnace and add central air conditioning, we knew exactly who to call. Like any good consumer, though, we shopped around. It just so happens that in addition to being incredibly trustworthy and full of integrity, Dave also has fantastic prices (by far the cheapest of the three companies we looked into)! He quickly came out to the house, got rid of the old furnace, and put the new one in ASAP. My wife was home with our baby every day Dave was here, and she felt totally comfortable with him and enjoyed his consideration for our pets and baby. And although he got sick and we ran into a little delay, he was considerate enough to come out to the house and finish installing the furnace before taking a day or two to recover (with a 9 month old, he didn’t want us to be without heat).
After getting everything installed, we noticed a clanging noise when the furnace kicked on/​off. He made a special trip out on Memorial Day Weekend to fix the issue and make sure we were happy with everything.
I really can’t say enough about the high quality, thoughtful, and responsible work completed by Dave. He does all his own work, and he was never even five minutes late for appointments and workdays! This man is absolutely fantastic, and I strongly recommend him to anyone looking to get heating/​AC work done!
