My mom and her roommate took their cats here. We’ve been taking our cats, our dog, and various rescue critters here, too. Best place in So Cal.

Took my dog to see Dr. Z today… the best Vet I’ve been to in 12 years!!! The staff was helpful and friendly. Great experience for me and my dog. ~SKT

We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Z for years and the staff and Dr. Z have always been attentive, personable, and professional.
They have shown repeated efforts of going beyond the call of duty to help my animals. Offering to take them home to supervise them overnight as opposed to leaving them in the kennel, working with us to discuss our options to best courses of action, never doing anything without our prior consent.
A few years ago we lost our oldest dog to her age, but it happened suddenly as we had taken her to the vet a few days prior to her passing and they said she looked good (just very old). When we came in with her remains the nurses were astonished and actually cried for our loss. Very wonderful people.
The only reason i gave 4 star rating as opposed to a 5 star is because i only wish they had more dental clinic days and were open on a weekend day. But it’s a private practice and i want my vet to have a life outside of the clinic room too. But it would still be nice.

I took my dog in for a serious gum infection. Dr. Zagorsky was so kind to Pedro (9 year old chihuahua) and the whole staff was very caring. Pedro had to have many teeth removed. He has healed well and acts like a puppy again. I was embarrassed by the extent of the infection because I couldn’t afford to bring Pedro in sooner. The bill ended up being much less than I expected and the work done was excellent. The staff was NOT condescending at all and Pedro is healthy and happy again.

I can’t even say enough about how amazing Dr Zagorsky and her staff are. First off she is so kind and gentle with the animals and truly cares. I brought my cat Razzie and, who was very ill. He is my family. He was hospitalized for 11 days. She had no problem when I would stop and randomly for a visit to check on him. She even took him home for the weekend, to take care of him. She listened to all my concerns, and gave me so much advice, and really took the time to explain his care to me. When he passed away, she gave me a hug. She went way above and beyond in every aspect. All of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and personable as well. I am so grateful for the care they gave to my Razzie in his last few days. The prices were beyond reasonable as well. Thank you Dr. Z and staff, I will be forever in your gratitude.

I had taken my dog to Dr. Zagorsky for an infection on her leg. The doctor entered the room and did not acknowledge me, choosing to just speak to my dog. I thought it was a little strange, but what the heck. After examining her, the doctor said she is going to take my dog into the back to weigh her and she will be right out. She took her to the back, leaving my girlfriend and I inside of the small examining room. She walked back in minutes later and handed me three pill bottles.
Dr. Zagorsky explained that my dog has an infection on her leg and allergies that make her eyes tear. Wait, I never brought her in for her eyes! The least she could have done was prepare me about her findings prior to prescribing medication. She then gave me a brief statement as to her findings and sent me on my way to pay the bill. I get to the receptionist, who was on the phone and broke her conversation long enough to tell me to pay over a $ 100. I paid, making sure not to disturb the receptionist on the phone and was handed the itemized billing statement. I start to read the statement out in the parking lot and see a line item charge for $ 22.00 for an injection. What? I was never advised of any injection, let alone see a syringe.
I walk back into the waiting area and ask the receptionist (not on the phone now) about the charge. She gave me a story about administering the shot in the backroom. It all came off as appearing just a bit suspicious, but how are you to confirm or deny such a thing. I left and had that special feeling you get when you have just been taken. During my entire time in the vet’s office, not one other customer had come or gone. It was empty and the vet was not rushing from room to room.
Now, here is the zinger! I check her license status with the State of California VETERINARY MEDICAL BOARD on-​line and guess what? I find a Karen Zagorsky, license #9354, owner of the Pigeon Pass Animal Hospital, has Disciplinary Actions against her. The first cause of action listed is for «Maintaining Expired Drugs» and it lists 30 names of expired drugs on the premises. Second cause of action was for «Fraud, Deception, Negligence, or Incompetence in Altering of Drug Expiration Dates.» They have (public) PDF copies of the accusations and outcome under her name and license number. In my opinion, this speaks for itself. I for one will not be returning to see Dr. Z.

Dr. Z is the best! I wish I had known about this vet years ago. The entire staff obviously loves and cares about the animals they see. I have 2 cats and a puppy. Dr. Z is very sweet with all of them, giving them treats and spending time with them before examinations so that they feel comfortable. I especially loved seeing this with my little scaredy cat.
My old cat became very ill with diabetes and had neurological damage. We knew we had to put her down and Dr. Z took her home with her so she didn’t have to spend her last night cooped up in a kennel. I was blown away.
I fear the day when Dr. Z retires! I will never take my pets anywhere else!!!

My family has gone to dr zagorsky for over 20 years. She loves animals and knows her stuff. Highly recommended!
