Nappy Braids

Vanessa did a beautiful job on my hair! She was delightful, informative and just an all around great stylist for crochet braids!
I highly recommend. My scalp is sensitive and her braids werent tight at all. She was professional and answered all of my questions. I will definitely go back to her again. As long as she’s doing crochet braids, i will be a regular of hers.

I’ve had Vanessa do my crochet braids twice and both times she was nice, professional, reasonably priced and my braids weren’t too tight and they were very neat. The only issue I had was she uses too much hair. A lot of her clients probably like big hair but I don’t. I ended up going to a different braider who was more expensive and didn’t braid my tracks as nicely and neatly as Vanessa did, but it looked better to me because she used a lot less hair. I would go back to Vanessa in a heartbeat if I thought I could get her to use 2 and a half or 3 packs of hair like my other braider did; otherwise she’s fantastic. One other reviewer here also mentioned the amount of hair she used but I’m not sure if her other complaints were legitimate; she seemed to be nasty on purpose.

Love her skills with hair, great hospitality. Not too tight and I’ve had many compliments since getting it done. The person with the bad review seemed to intentionally defame Vanessa, but she is very professionaland helpful with how you should care for your hair. I will return next month!

I found Nappy Braids on Unilocal and decided to try it for crochet braids. I sent a few pics and she was very helpful answering all my questions lol! She did the exact style I wanted I love it! She started on time and was very professional at all times. I will definitely be going back for more styles :) book with Nappy Braids you will not be disappointed !

I am so glad that nappy braids decided to make a Unilocal!This is a excellent way to get the truth out. Yes, her work looks good but she is slow as heck and she uses way to many bags of hair to braid. She braids extremely too tight and she is over priced. I got my hair braided by Vanessa who did medium individuals for a special she was running, it took her 7 – 8 hours and she had me bring like 7 – 10 packs of hair, really a good braider will not use that many bags of hair to braid there clients hair. To me it’s like nappy braids wants to play in your hair and charge high prices.
Oh yeah, did I mention I took my hair down the next day because my hair was so tight I was scared I would wake up bald and have no edges, look closer to her pictures and you will see how tight she braids. A true braider will never braid her clients hair that tight unless they wanted it that way, even at that a hair stylist wants her clients hair to grow not break off. A true stylist builds her clientele by her work and prices, but her prices are off the chain, no wonder she keeps getting new clients people don’t have money like that and even if they did, I guarantee they will pay a shop before they pay you.
I am not trying to be rude I am just speaking the truth, it is a lot more that I can say but I don’t want to be rude or seem like I am Unilocal banging (lol) I know the best way to fix this problem is to never go back, I am not the one doing hair for a living. Oh, did I mention after she did my hair I left a Craigslist review on Craigslist for her, since that is were I found her. All I can say is good luck to anyone that try’s nappy braids, you may like her work I personally didn’t. If I could of rated her with no stars I swear I have.
As I was talking to Vanessa I was able to read between the lines, if you lower your prices and don’t grip peoples hair so tight I guarantee you will get and probably keep a couple of clients, until then your chair will remain empty unless you offer specials and as you said then everyone is blowing up your phone. Lastly, you can tell how a good braider is, by how easily her braids are to take down, if they are tangled with your real hair then, she can’t braid. Good luck to all!
Just to let it be known, Vanessa is a very nice person and communicates very well with her clients, I personally think she cannot braid, however some of her other styles are gorgeous.
