As my father’s executor, I wanted to have his coin collection fairly appraised for myself and his other beneficiaries. Silly as it seems, I also wanted it done well for my father’s sake. He got so much pleasure out of his collection that I wanted to see any coins worth more than their melt value preserved for another enthusiast.
After reading Unilocal’s reviews I chose Mr. Berman to do the job, as he seemed to genuinely appreciate the coins both intrinsically as well as for their dollar value.
I was not disappointed with my experience. I had done a LITTLE reading and sorting prior to taking my father’s coins to Mr. Berman, and felt that he did a fair and thorough job of pricing it. He was also a wealth of interesting information — I spent a delightful few hours listening and learning while he looked over the collection.
I initially thought of this task as another tedious executor’s chore, but Mr. Berman made it a real pleasure. I highly recommend his services.

I called Mr. Berman to appraise a collection of coins that my mother entrusted to me to sell. First of all, when I called Bruce he was out of town, but got back to me as soon as he got back in town. I found him to be very personable, and he put me at ease almost right away with his knowledge and professionalism. Since I have no knowledge of coins and coin collecting, I was somewhat apprehensive about getting a fair appraisal, and Bruce was so knowledgeable, I was really excited for him to come and see what I had.
We set up a day and time to meet, and since I have a disabled child and it’s difficult for me to go meet somewhere else, he was kind enough to cone to me. He had suggested on the phone that I pre-​sort my coins so the process of appraisal would go quick and smoothly, which it did. My husband and I were both curious about some of the coins I had, and asked lots of questions. Bruce took the time to explain and educate, which we thought was wonderful.
Mr. Berman made us an offer for our collection, which we felt was fair, and we accepted on behalf of my mother. She was very happy with the outcome, as were we.
When my mother entrusted this collection to me to sell for her, I was very intimidated, and had not a clue as to where to start. Mr. Berman made this process an easy, smooth transaction that ended up being a lot of fun in the process. He really knows the coin collecting world, and has excellent credentials. Anyone, whether a pro collector, hobbyist or, like me, had a collection just fall into their lap, would benefit from Bruce Berman’s vast knowledge.
