Description

Specialties

Barker-Ewing Scenic Float Trips are conducted entirely within the unspoiled natural environment of Grand Teton National Park, providing the best opportunities for viewing the Teton Mountains and wildlife in the Jackson Hole valley. We are privileged to float on the section of the Snake River which has been especially designated as «Scenic» under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Our professional river guides have the depth of experience to make every trip special, and our custom-made rafts are designed to keep passengers dry and comfortable. This trip is suitable for all persons, ages 6 and up, who would enjoy an unique experience inside the national park.

History

Established in 1963.

Dick and Barbara Barker offered the first commercial 10-mile scenic float trips in Grand Teton National Park in 1963, and they were joined by Frank and Patty Ewing in 1967. In 1972 the partnership began to also offer whitewater trips in the Snake River Canyon south of Jackson. Barker-Ewing continued as a joint operation until 1985, at which time the business was separated into two river businesses, with the Ewings continuing to operate the whitewater trips, and the Barkers running the national park scenic floats.
