The Gutter Guys

I used Gutter Guys when I first moved into my home. They sent someone out for a free estimate; and I liked that I didn’t have to be home when they got the work done. The gentlemen explained that the workers clean the gutters out by hand, but assured me that they were thorough. I was told that they could not give me the exact day or time that they would be out, but I would know that they had been out, because they would leave a notice on my door that the job had been completed. The first time they came out I had a notice on my door, but noticed some of my gutters had not been cleaned, specifically the hard to reach gutters over my sunroom (hence the reason I wanted it done professional. I could not reach it). I called to have them come back out and the woman I spoke to say she would schedule someone to come back. The next day I came home to 2 men one on a ladder and the other scaling across the roof of my sunroom to get to the gutters. Needless to say when the men had left the gutter was clean, but a shingle from my roof was on the ground. I didn’t bother calling them again, because by this time I was more mad at myself for using them and calling them out after seeing the poor job they did the first time. If you are looking to have your gutters cleaned correctly and with care, Please Use A Different Company!

The Gutter Guys were recommended to me by a trustworthy coworker so I really gave them the benefit of the doubt. The team there is really nice, however, are unable to follow through with their word. My first experience with them was not too great. I had a gutter cleaning scheduled with them and, because of the weather, it got pushed back. understandably so. However, they did not take the time to contact their customers to let them know about the delays. Had I been informed, I would have been more prepared for them to show up and not wondering what is going on. How is a customer to know how many appointments they had scheduled and how many other customers they work for? Instead, weeks went by where they did not show up (and I received no word from them) and then, when it was a month from the time they had made the «appointment,» I finally tracked them down and they responded saying there was a delay due to the weather. My next time calling them, I decided to overlook this since it was a bad winter, weather-​wise. I called them right before summer (end of May) to ask them to come out and give me an estimate for new gutters. The lady said she was very busy with driving around to other houses in the area and that she would try to stop by that day since she was in the same town. She said if she was unable to stop by that day then she would be out for an estimate in the next week. This never happened. It is now almost four months later and I have not received an estimate. She never came to my house as promised and never called/​emailed me to explain. I see her drive around in her truck almost every week and I don’t understand why they would not follow through with their word. I understand that she is busy but I will not be calling them again because I do not have time either to stay on top of them and constantly be inquiring about their whereabouts/​status. I would rather work with a company where I am a valued customer.

Hurricane Sandy left its mark on our old and frail gutters, ripping off downspouts and knocking loose the remaining gutters. We were not really in a spot to take care of this, as we were already investing in new windows, a new front door, and our kitchen also unexpectedly fell apart on us.
I knew I could not use a handyman, since paying cash was simply not an option. So, as usual, I turned to Unilocal for a recommendation but could not find anything here. Instead, I saw videos for The Gutter Guys show up in my Google search. It stood out just enough for me to give them a call.
A representative came out immediately and offered me a variety of options and an affordable payment plan. That was a difference maker for us but certainly did not guarantee that the work would be good.
Shortly after signing on with The Gutter Guys, the crew showed up to do the work. They were nice, accommodating, and professional.
Our new gutters look great and I am very happy with the work they did. It was more than worth the money and I would recommend the company to anyone in need of new gutters.
