Walk This Way Shoes

I live in the middle of nowhere and have been hunting down a shoe that I had been trying to buy from Nordstrom’s online in vain (select purchase, pay, receive cancellation notice 3 days later, repeat– I tried to buy different styles by same company– all cancelled on me).
So, I went to the manufacturer’s site and using their map of stores carrying their shoes, I started calling small independent stores and found one willing to order for me– then, 4 days later, they called and said they couldn’t get them. What are they made of gold?! You may wonder why I would go through all this work– I do as well, and I can’t provide any kind of answer other than they are ADORABLE. so back to the 4 week saga of trying to find the Cloud Alicia in black, I called Walk this way in Montrose and boom! The man who answered the phone told me he would call the distributor to confirm he could indeed get the shoe, and then would call me back. 15 mins later he called me back and took my order to ship them to me! Hurrah!

I had the most pleasant and helpful experience yesterday. David was knowledgable about my painful foot condition and showed me several options of shoes. I’m going to Washington D. C. this week and will be doing a lot of walking. I settled on the 990 New Balance; David is a throwback to the days when shoe salesmen actually fitted the customer, put them on you and made sure they fit properly. He was engaging, relatable and had a great sense of humor. He shared his experience with the same foot issue, and I’m taking his advice on a good tip for an exercise!

Bought my first pair of Birkenstocks today, they were extremely helpful in helping me find a shoe good for back support because I have sciatica and chronic knots. They also were nice to my kids who are young and get into everything. I’ll be back for shoes there.

First time I went back after the new owner! I received great service, the place was busy! I did buy some great shoes for my EURO trip! Little pricey but that’s what happens when you want nice comfortable shoes! I will be back.

Outstanding service! I saw they had a pair of shoes that I was having trouble finding elsewhere. When I asked for a 43, they only had a 42, but called the manufacturer right then to order them, only to be told 43s wouldn’t be available for 5 more months. I left my name in hopes of some day receiving a call. 3 days later, they called to let me know they’d struck a deal with the distributor and my 43s were in the store waiting for me. You won’t get that at Zappos!

Casual, functional and stylish shoes at reasonable prices.
Great find for the wife. One of her friends recommended this place and she loves it, especially the American brand called Munro. The equivalent of Mephistos (?) but more fashionable. Has bought 5 pair so far.#%!%# :-)
She works in a hospital and walks a lot. The daughter is in NYC and we walk a lot there, too. These are the shoes she wears at work and takes when we visit.
Saw a review below and it appears unfair to us.
1. This is primarily a woman’s shoe store but they do have men’s shoes; primarily Clarks at reasonable prices.
2. All shoes we checked were priced.
3. Service is very good and certainly better than mall stores that are run by teenagers.
The wife is is not an easy sell but this is now her first stop.

Not many stores like this left. Great selections, European stylish shoes with comfort, expert assistance and great customer service.

I called this store and asked if they sold men’s shoes, and they said they did. What they SHOULD have said was that 20% of their inventory (if that) was men’s shoes, and the other 80% women. That being said, their selection of menswear was not that impressive. Also, all the shoes that were on sale were for women too. Seriously, just forget about selling to men.
Service was ok for what it was, but I also noticed that there were no prices anywhere. I used to work for someone (I won’t mention names but let’s just say they’ve definitely earned their one-​star average review on Unilocal) who did that, and it was partly to deceive customers. I’m not saying that Walk This Way hides prices for that reason, but I would like to know how much my new feet armor are going to cost without having to ask an employee.
That being said, I feel like my shoes were overpriced. Also, my card was declined for no reason. That may or may not be the fault of the store but it certainly was annoying after the requisite «OHNO I IS OVERDRAFT» moment and discovering the false alarm.
If the arch support for my shoes wasn’t failing and I could wait for online ordering, I would have gone with someplace like Zappos instead. I kind of wish I did anyway, but the shoes I got look nice and seem to have good support; that’s the only good thing.
Bottom line: Poor men’s selection, overpriced shoes, and no clear pricing. I do not recommend.

I was looking for a specific sandal and it was sold out everywhere including Zappos. They had a option to click on where Zappos would let me know it there was some re-​stocked. I clicked on the option and a few months later, the notified me that the sandal was available again. This notification I received was the reason I bought the sandals today.

Rude. Limited supply. Disrespectful.
I found this place from a flyer sent to my home in Glendale, but from the way I was treated I guess they’re not used to seeing Black/​African Americans in Montrose. I was ignored when I walked in and I was the only person there, a white lady walks in and they greet her like they work at Disneyland. But I was in desperate need of a new pair of Danskos for work and not many stores sell them. So I asked to try on a pair. The salesperson acted as if I was inconveniencing him. I wear a size 10 in women’s, the shoe did not fit and they don’t carry any larger sizes or wide widths; which I thought I needed, but the Dansko XP’s in a size 10 fit me perfectly… But they don’t carry those either.
Anyways, the salesperson didn’t come back to ask me if they fit or to offer a different size, I had to flag him down and ask, which is NOT customary of GOOD customer service when buying shoes. Even if they had the shoe I needed I wouldn’t give them a penny of my money, and I have a $ 15 coupon. Never again.
So I left and found a perfectly fitting pair of Danskos the same day at The Walking Company at Glendale Galleria.

I love this little store.
First of all, I was wowed by the nice selection, and I love the Clarks varieties available.
Staff are very very helpful.
I was taken in there by my boyfriend to just see the store and I came out with a very soft comfortable Clarks’ shoe I can use for work right away.
I was drooling over the possibilities for next time.
There is a good shelf of 30% off shoes too.

My sister and I stopped in to buy a pair of shoes I needed for my daughter’s wedding. I have MS and needed something flat, comfortable and cute. Those with walking issues know that «cute» and «orthopedic» don’t usually go very well together. The gentleman who helped us was charming, funny and super helpful. Suffice it to say, I left with a darling pair of shoes and a really good laugh. Highly recommend this local business, they’re ballers!

I love April and Julie! I know every time I go into this stored I will be greeted kindly and they actually know what I am looking for. If you have wide feet they will find cute appropriate shoes for you that do not look like a «grandmother’s shoes». If they don’t have it they will find it for you. They have found shoes for weddings, formal occasions and have been ordering shoes for my father with a 6E shoe width for years. I love that Julie and April both believe that you should be able to have beautiful shoes even if you have wide or narrow feet.

Had a terrible experience here at the store. We walked in to check out the various shoes and could not have been greeted in a more rude fashion. The owner, Julie (we discovered she was the owner later — her having lied and said she was merely the manager), gave us a mean look as soon as we entered the store.
When we asked to try on some different shoes we were ignored for nearly 10 minutes as the owner talked on the phone (a personal call), gabbing away and not seemingly the least bit interested in our business.
Overall, the place is far too overpriced but the staff is really not worth the trip. Take your business elsewhere.

I have been shopping at Walk This Way for years now. I have incredibly high arches and suffer from plantarfaciitis. Granted, on the rare occasion, I cannot find what I’m looking for, but 9 out of 10 times I find multiple shoes that are fashionable and actually good for my feet! April is amazing and goes above and beyond in her customer service. Granted, I have been helped by a guy or two who doesn’t know the stock or have the knowledge that April or Julie (store owner) has, but overall this is the BEST shoe store in the area! I send people there on a regular basis! Oh! And there is NO WAY they sell knock offs! You can always count on the quality of the shoes.

We have been going to this store for many years and always had great service and quality products. I am quite sure they would not tarnish their image and solid clientele by selling knock off shoes.

All my favorite shoe brands under one roof, great, friendly, knowledgeable service, prices reasonable to great, loads of free parking right out the back door; what more could I ask for?! Last week was my first visit to the store — I will return!

If you need a pair of functional and comfortable shoes – I’m sorry, but 3-​inch heels are neither functional nor comfortable – and you would like a sales person who actually knows the product, then Walk This Way is the place for you. Speaking of sales people, April really knows her stuff. She’ll ask you a few questions about what you need and why, and she’ll present you with a selection that is perfect for your feet. They have Dansko, Birkenstocks, Ecco, Born, and all those other comfy shoes. They have dress shoes, running shoes, walking shoes, clogs, sandals… you name it!
