We pride ourselves in a menu that has local variety specials daily, reasonable prices and friendly staff! We bake our own rolls, bread and desserts daily too! Last July, we started making our own ice cream and the response has been grand! We look forward to serving adults and kids for years to come — we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2018… stay tuned!

History

Established in 1918.

The Wayside was established almost 100 years ago and has been continuously ran by just two generations of two families! In 1966 Eugene and Harriet Galfetti purchased the Wayside in 1966 from a second generation owner; and in 1997 Brian and Karen (Galfetti) Zecchinelli took over the reins! They have two sons, Nick and Jay that are college age… who knows what the future may bring!

Business Owner

Brian and Karen both graduated from the University of Vermont. They are lifelong Vermonters that enjoy the four seasons! Brian continued his studies at American University with a Masters in Marketing, a skill set that he has put to good use at the Wayside. Karens background after UVM was in the financial sector, she works hard keeping the bottom line where it needs to be!
