I wrote a review for GardenScapes in their sister business’ profile, but I think they deserve their own profile on Unilocal,as they have provided us with the best customer service of any contractor in town. They were the most prompt, professional, knowledgeable and customer-oriented business we have had the pleasure to work with. Seriously, it is such a headache and like squeezing blood from a stone to get a contractor to call you back in this town. Forget actually getting a quote. Ugh! We went to Garden Station after 4:00 p.m. to inquire about work we needed done on our driveway and rock garden. The owner told us that GardenScapes would be in contact with us. They would stop by our house the next day to review the property and work required. We were surprised and in disbelief that GardenScapes would come see us that soon, but sure to their word, Tom stopped at our house at 6:00 p.m. the next day and talked to us extensively about what we wanted done. He gave us his email address, and we emailed him Autocad drawings and a photo example of the pavers and gravel we wanted. He even called us from Menard’s to double check the color of the pavers I wanted. We were very selective about the grade and size of gravel we wanted, and Tom tracked it down for us. When adding the 2″ of gravel on our driveway, they took the extra time, energy and hard work to build a device and level our driveway flat(instead of the wavy sloping it was every which way). When they completely our driveway, they even raked away any traces of tire tracks and foot prints so when we saw it for the first time, we were the first to make an imprint in the new gravel. So special feeling. Yes, little things like this make me happy and impress me. Neighbors who never spoke to us in the 3 years we’ve owned the property come up and tell us how beautiful our new driveway is. We have the nicest looking driveway in town now. We also asked GardenScapes to put in a two feet(2′) retaining wall to separate our rock garden from our lawn. They did a wonderful job, and it’s level with our driveway now so everything flows aesthetically. They used a larger and flatter paver which matched the pavers along the driveway. This was no small job, as our driveway is 95′ long and 30′ wide so we’re talking a lot of material. They were even nice enough to pop-out our old, large, 3′ radius hostas and peonies and place them in pots for us to replant. The total price for 2 to 3 days of hard work was only $ 2,450.00. OMG! When we get ready to fix and add-on to our retaining walls in the backyard, fill in the sinking spots in our lawn, rip-out the concrete and put in stone pavers for a new patio slab, etc., GardenScape will be the first people we call and our first choice for our landscaping needs. They are truly professionals at affordable prices.
