Stopped by for dinner on our first visit and the food tasted great. However the portions were surprisingly small and the accompany toast cold. And unfortunately we were told the owner was«out sick for a week». The kids working there were certainly sweet but kind of clueless. When I asked for a lemon slice a young man showed up at my table with a lemon stuck on the end of a fork and said here it is! After a bit of surprise realized I just needed to grab it with my fingers. My wife had to refill her own drink. The staples on the menu had let go and the pages were falling out, and so on. For the price point I would have expected more generous portions and much better service.

I was in Montgomery for a family reunion, searched Unilocal for some good eats, and came across Wishbone Café. The pictures on Unilocal looked so good that my boyfriend and I both ordered the Bayou Classic. ITTASTEDEVENBETTERTHANTHEPICTURESLOOKED!!! I was so pleased with the food, portions, and service!!! If I’m ever in Montgomery again, I am definitely going back!!!

After seeing great reviews, thought I would seek out this place while in town, before heading back home. This place was better than many Cajun restaurants I’ve enjoyed in NOLA! I had the Louis Armstrong(grilled shrimp & scallops in cream sauce w/grilled peppers) & their special tea. Both were excellent & staff was extremely nice & customer service oriented. As soon as I Sat down, they brought me a sample of their soup of the day & tea, which surprised me. Awesome place & staff. The only negative is that the grill smoked up the room a little, which irritated my eyes. I’ll be back, when back in town!

We have eaten here 2 times. The first time it was delicious! The spices, the sauce were both the real deal. The second time around was not as good… Yes, the sauce and spices were still good but I was highly disappointed in our food. We both got the Bayou Classic which you pay a pretty penny for, only to find our crab meat in our Crab Cake was FAKE! It unrolled into a long fake crab ribbon looking thing. Basically fake crab… Just like at the grocery store. It amazes me that they would not use real crab meat in thier Crab Cakes… They have everything else right! Why scrimp on the crab? The description does not say they use fake crab and for the price I feel they should let customers know. The unrolled fake crab ribbon really made us lose our appetite. I hope they step up and use the real deal.

Heading towards Florida en route to Mississippi, I think that this restaurant has the best cajun cuisine outside of the MS Gulf Coast/NOLA region. I enjoyed the cajun cuisine served in this restaurant; for example, the Louis Armstrong with shrimp and scallops. The cajun truffles as an appetizer were just heavenly right in your mouth. This is quite an underrated place to eat, right on the strip mall off of Atlanta Highway. It is highly recommended to dine at lunchtime while at work on a weekday, or if you’re doing hard finds for places to eat while traveling on I-85.

I’ve had the Quesadillas a couple of times. If I weren’t from Montgomery, I’d say only my grandma made better, but I don’t think she could do better no matter what. I’ve also had the Louis Armstrong and the Steamed Shrimp. So much food, so good. The parmesan bread, french fries, nana pudding, I don’t know if they are all homemade but they are down home and gooood. Y’all need to try this place. Sunday afternoon is my favorite time. I meet friends there for a couple of hours of stuffing ourselves. Glad I live nearby. They’re friendly and have great food. Glad I found Unilocal, like letting others know about good places. And, this is a really good place.

This place was good. It was an old Quiznos you can tell, but don’t let that fool you. The service is phenomenal and the food was excellent! I’ll be back again!

We had lunch here and were totally overwhelmed by the quality of food served by this unassuming café. We both had the Blue Plate special which today was lobster and shrimp ravioli served with a cream-based sauce with additional shrimp and other seafood. The portions were large and excellent. In addition, the serving and kitchen staff were exceptionally friendly. Service was fast, but the place does get very crowded at lunchtime. We’ll definitely try to return.

Absolutely delicious. Had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and have some of the Louisiana specialties! The tea is to die for!

Food was very good. I had a delicious crawfish louis and stuffed mushrooms. Mushrooms were good but didn’t have hardly any crab as advertised, but still good. Faults were app came out the same time as my meal which is a huge no no to me. They literally carried them together. It is an old Quiznos building and cooking equip so the atmosphere was a little confusing considering they were doing upscale food and pricing. And the portions were small. I didn’t leave hungry but didn’t leave satisfied either. And thats with an app and an entrée to myself. And Im not that big. Food is good again though to re-iterate.

This is a hidden restaurant that you almost need to know is there — or you’ll probably overlook it. Food is excellent and creative. The service was great also — my wife and I both liked that they bring you a complimentary sample of their tea and their soup before you even have a chance to look over the menu. The sauces they put on their food really makes the traditional Cajun food come alive with extra flavor. My wife is not that big on Cajun food, but she loved everything we ordered here. I definitely recommend this place.

With so many chain restaurants in the area, this little gem was a true find! Not from this area and looking for something fresh, flavorful, and unique; well this was the place. Expect to wait a little while for the good stuff though depending on how busy it is. The house wasn’t close to full and we waited 30 minutes. Where the service lacks the food makes up for. If you like creole, cajun, seafood, and a new twist on tea, then the wishbone café is the place for you.

I must say… I’m not from this area so searching for great food and friendly guest service always feels like a task when you aren’t familiar with a region. I came here off the recommendation from a friend and was blown away. I walked in the door and was immediately handed a sample of their soup and a iced tea. Talk about service! Now the food. Everything I had was astounding! Fresh, savory, tons of flavor! It definitely made my day. The atmosphere is cute and simple. Just reminds you, it’s the basic and little things that really make people happy. Bravo Wishbone! I’m one happy girl!

Awesome blossom Cajun place to hit up Not a huge place, about 10 tables that mostly seat up to 4 and a couple tables outside… so you’d think this was a fast food joint or something, but when you walk in they servers at the counter greet you with a smile and the chalkboard menu is actually a collage of inspirational quotes, which I thought was pretty cool. You can call your order for pickup too, which quite a few ppl did. Ordered the bayou classic and the soup of the day, which was seafood… guess I was in a seafood mood… just meant more food for me hehehe. The bowl of soup was pretty full… right to the brim, and piping hot. Had to wait a minute or 3 for it to cool down… but that first bite… sent warm fuzzies straight down my gullet into that belly o mine. Really hearty and good, and almost filled me up before I got my entrée! The entrée was very good; rice topped with shrimp crab cakes spinach and Cajun dressing… topped with Cajun seasoned white bread. I had to pack up some of it Cuz it was just too much for me. But it was a very good meal; 5 layer Cajun dish and soup for $ 18 plus tax and tip ain’t too shabby… not shabby at all. Strip mall parking, so shouldn’t be an issue… not too familiar with the area for lunch not sure if it gets crazy crowded or not. I came in around 630 and the place wasn’t too packed, but after I ordered a few more parties came in so I guess this is a dinner spot. Staff — very friendly and nice. Gave me a cup of sweey tea as I was waiting for my meal which was awesome.

Awesome seafood! It’s a café, but it has nice seats, and you can sit down and eat. I recommend whatever is red on the menu cuz they are specials. The cook is very friendly, but the waitress didn’t seem to understand what I was asking for. I told the waitress that I ordered 7 wings but only got 6. Then she brought my wings back to the kitchen and had it cooked again until it turned black… which was really funny.

Wishes do come true! This place is AMAZING! Tucked away in a strip mall is a true gem of Cajun food. I tried the Bayou Classic which was out of this world delicious — a bed of cajun rice piled with crabcakes and shrimp, covered in white sauce and served with cajun toast(toast buttered and sprinkled with special seasoning). You need to try this place! The Wishbone tea was just sweet enough with a hint of pineapple juice and lemon.
