Although we made the best of our wedding here, there were many disappointments with the service, site and owners. The accusation is true, they openly discriminate against the LGBTQ community. We were appalled to find a statement about it added to their website shortly after we committed to their contract. We had gay and lesbian guests and we were mortified. Unfortunately that was just the beginning of our problems with SHF. The 1, I repeat, 1 person they had staffed to assist day-​of was simply not enough. They should know this, and not leave their clients guessing as to how it’s all going to work out. There were bats in the house and I, the groom, was struggling for an hour to capture it because it was freaking out and our elderly guests staying in the house were terrified. They failed to tell us there was a wasp colony in the fire pit area and my brother was stung in the forehead, not making for the best photos! Their excuse was that «it’s a farm and we need to expect these things.» All we expected was to get our deposit back and an apology, however they shocked us when they accused our guests of leaving cigarette butts in places other than the designated area and were demanding to retain $ 250 because of it! What a joke, none of our 10 smoking guests broke this rule. They are certainly two faced and not deserving of business. Skip this venue on your hunt

Absolutely, without a doubt, does not deserve anyone’s business. They discriminate and are ignorant. Please do not even consider this location for anything.
