Established in 1987.

Established in 1987 after the merger of Wermuth Storage Company (founded in 1918) and Cahoon Moving and Storage (founded in 1908), the company provides local, long distance and international moving services for residential and commercial customers throughout the Monterey Peninsula and beyond.

Very difficult moving experience with this company. Sent less-​than-​stellar crew out, called them off because they were stretched too thin, made my move hell. They weren’t ready on moving day. Some of the guys are good packers — and some really, really do not care at all about what they are doing.

After helping with several small local moves, my husband and I decided to use Wermuth to relocate to San Diego. My husband is a Marine, and this was our first Permanent Change of Station (PCS) so needless to say, we were nervous about getting everything moved and settling in before his check in date.
The staff was communicative and very helpful. When our things were packed, the movers took care with items of value but kept working efficiently. Once we arrived in San Diego, everything we owned was moved from the truck to the house within AN HOUR. It was awesome. Joey, the mover helping us, was super friendly and easy to work with. I swear I saw him carry up to three boxes at one time.
Overall, a wonderful experience. Would use again.

I’ve moved six times over the last 20 years. In my experience I never had a better move. They arrived up on time, where completely prepared, very friendly and absolutely professional in every way. Not one scratch or broken item. I was extremely satisfied and the next time I move these are the people I will be calling without a doubt!!!

I scheduled an estimate with Robert the estimater on Friday for the following Monday. I waied an hour and finally called the office. I was told by the person who answered the phone that Robert had other appointments scheduled and didn’t remember making my appointment two days ago? He wouldn’t come to the phone to speak with me? I wouldn’t trust them to do my move. They may forget the furniture?

We used this company for a local move. We obtained quotes from various other local companies. I made it clear that this was for packing, storage, and moving into the new house. I was told they told that did not have any packers available for our move out date… so they provided the boxes and the materials and I packed the entire house. I assumed this would lower the cost. The movers came and loaded the truck to take to storage for about 2 – 3 weeks. When I called to confirm the move-​in dats I was told it would be an additional charge to move to the new house. When I questioned that, I was told the gentleman that gave me the quote would call me back. We called several times and got no where. They basically held us hostage… they had our stuff so we had to pay more. They are a dishonest outfit… DON’T USE them. I should have used any of the other local companies. I was trying to save money. Instead I broke my back packing an entire house and got ripped off in the process.

We went to Allied multiple times after being told multiple times our special moving box was here. Staff didn’t communicate and one lady was just rude. The first nice and helpful humans there were the gentlemen who helped us out to the car and explained how to best use the box. Even if the price is right, the customer service ruins it for me.
