Very nice Salon. Devon is a great hairdresser! I highly recommend her and any of the other hairdressers in this Salon! Nicole, the owner, does beautiful work! The salon is very clean and the staff very helpful and nice. I would highly recommend this salon, Devon or any of Nicole’s Staff!

I recently relocated to the Monterey area and needed to find a new stylist! I was not disappointed! Carissa was awesome! Not only was she super friendly and welcoming, she did an excellent job with my haircut. I am excited to go in for a blowout soon. Thank you Vanity & Carissa!

I was looking for a place to do my hair for my wedding and found vanitys website. I decided to try them out, I emailed an inquiring about booking a bridal trail and was told it was $ 90. When I questioned why it was $ 90 and not $ 70 that it was listed on the website I was told they hadn’t updated the site yet… Okay, which could happen. So I booked it and went to my trail.
The salon is beautiful. Very open and bright.
When I met with my stylist she was friendly but I felt SUPER rushed and like she half assed my trail.
Now granite, I was a bit indecisive on exactly what I wanted but I showed her a few different looks. So I get it, it could have been hard at first but darn it you’re a stylist, start whipping something up!
She pretty much blowed dried my hair and started loose curling my hair. Pinned it back loosely and was pretty much done. (Half up half down with a tiny poof at the back etc) Meanwhile the girl next to me who was getting her bridal trail done had her hair tightly curled and looked like she was getting married that day… They way I thought a trail was suppose to be. I mean how can you tell what it will look like on your big day if you can’t see it on your face! I know they are two different looks but I told her I wanted tighter curls, she didn’t even try to re-​curl them basically asked if I wanted to wear it for the day or take it out and it was over… I paid the lady and left. At this point I had no choice but to go to them as my wedding was in a few weeks.
The day of my wedding. Pretty much the same. I did make a few changes but they didn’t affect the look of the trail much. At the end of the trail and before we started I told her I wanted tighter curls etc. I only had an hour or so before make up came but she still could’ve worked on my hair while doing make up… While I was getting my hair done there was another person getting their hair done for a wedding and the Stylist was extremely rude to her. Yeah I get theres time crunches and what have you but there’s no need to be rude. If anything you should be mad at the receptionist who’s booking these appointments NOT your client. She basically told her that she couldn’t curl her hair with the curling iron because her hair was thick and she had another appointment coming in at a certain time. I’m sorry but if were paying you 150+ dollars to do our hair for a wedding, it better be perfect!
I ended up with not so perfect hair for my wedding. And spending $ 250 (including trail) for my hair to fall and be loose during my wedding and reception.
I probably wouldn’t go back for an updo or wedding hair but I would definitely go back for a blow dry. That seems to be what suits them best.

Nicole and her team got up and helped me and the bridal party get ready at 6:30am. They did a fantastic job and Nicole had pastries, coffee and water out for everyone. Her staff was personable and friendly. Their hair looked amazing. Thank you, Vanity!

Very unprofessional service on my wedding day!
I had booked in advance, 2 hair appointments for my mother and mother in law — I had arranged rides for them and was told AFTER they arrived that one of the hair stylists was not coming in. Initially they tried to fit her in for an appointment 2 hrs later but on a wedding-​day hours is way too valuable (they both drove out 30 min from Carmel Valley for the appt). This created a totally awkward situation where only one mother could get her hair done. My mother in law ended up not getting her hair done and my mom didn’t even like her style!
I paid for a deposit in ADVANCE so I would have to commit — and yet the salon isn’t held to the same standards? Totally unacceptable. I did not receive a call nor an apology.
My discussion with the receptionist before the appointment was pleasant but the outcome was really unacceptable.

I love having a Blowdry bar in Monterey. For most salons in the area you have to book well in advance. I love that I can usually book the day before or even pop in the same day. I just discovered they have online booking which is awesome. I am all about convenience :)
All the stylists do a great job. I had a cut, treatment and blowout today with Jessica today which turned out great.
I recommend this salon and will definitely return.

Love the ladies that work at Vanity! Carissa is the best — have used multiple times for general maintenance and also for blow drys for special occasions. Easy to book online with confirmation emails and reminder emails. Will continue to use them and would tell anyone looking for excellent service to give them a go!

I LOVE the Blowout package that I recently purchased, it allows me to get pampered without feeling guilty. Suzie is a doll, she is not only amazing at various blow-​out styles but the hair cut I recently received was exactly what I wanted! A+
Apparently Suzie is no longer with Vanity, what a loss! I am a picky girl and finally found my match and recently recommended my mother in law to go see her for a color. If anyone knows where Suzie will be relocated PLEASE let me know! Although I love the salon, Suzie was the main reason for my frequent visits.

I’ve gone here three times to see Kaliegh (sp?) and she is very talented! I wanted a pixie cut– went to another salon before this and they butchered it! I was recommended to go to Vanity by a co worker– and I do not regret it! Kaliegh is the best! Vanity is my favorite salon!

Suzie was wonderful! I love my highlights!!! She did it perfectly!!! I also love my cut and style. She took her time and made sure that I was happy with my new do. Thanks, again, Suzie! I highly recommend her and this hair salon. They also offer a blow dry bar which is also nice! I’m so happy to have found this great hair stylist and salon!

After looking/​calling everywhere to find a decent blowout place, I found this gem! Great price, only $ 35 for an amazing wash and blowdry! I got mine with Brittany. Highly recommend her!!! Not only did she do an excellent job but she was so sweet, we had great conversation. I will for sure come here again when I am in the area. And love the look of this place, so clean and modern. Also, my hair smelled soo good! The products are great

I am a busy mom of 3 and I was overwhelmed with the service I received with my blowout. To keep us on time with my mop of hair two jumped in to help. Vanity is definitely my place to go to get beautified in my time frame and budget. Super job!

I do not normally post on Unilocal,but unfortunately I feel like I need to say something about the poor professionalism that I had to deal with. I received a card for one of the hairstylists named Kelliegh at Vanity. I was so excited to find a new hair place in Monterey since I am fairly new to the area. I went into Vanity and was told that I could book a consultation online with her. I was also told that their website is still being worked on which is no big deal. I went home immediately and booked the appointment with Kelliegh. I was a little confused on how to book the consultation so I put down the consultation and also a partial highlight. My thinking was that it would let her know what I wanted a consultation for. I went in for my appiontment and Kelliegh gave me some great ideas on what to do with my hair. I was so pleased until we both realized that I had accidentally booked the appointment wrong and she was under the assumption that I wanted my hair done that day. I apologized for the confusion and let her know that I did want to book an appointment with her for the future. She then proceeded to act annoyed. When we went to make the appointment she flashed an annoyed look at another girl who was working who then gave her a look right back! This all happened right in front of me! I felt so bad at the time that I apologized again after she made the appointment and she again acted like she was annoyed and brushed my apology off with out much recognition. I know we all have our bad days but I as someone who deals with giving customer service every day I could never imagine myself giving a coworker an annoyed look right in front of a customer. I decided that I would not being going back due to how she handled the situation. In the end I ended up some where that provided me fantastic customer service, a great hair style, and for much less than what Kelliegh was going to charge me.
*** shortly after posting this the owner of Vanity, Nicole, gave me a call and apologized for the poor service. As much as I disliked Kelliegh’s customer service, Nicole’s phone call helped the situation so much. It is nice to know that the owner is paying attention to what is going on in her shop :) that’s what customer service is!

My husband and I are on our honeymoon and if you see my hair you’ll know why I didn’t want to spend hald the day in our room styling it. I found this place on Unilocal and made an appt. I was greeted promptly my hostess and then by stylist Jessica. Jessica was not only amazing to speak with but did a fabulous blow out and style on my hair. And I have TONS of hair! She even washed my hair twice! As she was washing my hair another stylist Brittany overheard our convo of what to do and not only gave recommendations of where to go but wrote everything down for me. I was so excited when I left we tried to get our hotel in SF for Thursday so we could stay longer and I could go back and get another blowout. unfortunately they were going to charge us so we have to leave. These girls were the sweetest. I can’t say enough good things about this TOP NOTCH salon. We will be visting Monterey more and will come back just to get my hair styled. THANK YOU!!!

Boy, oh boy, did Vanity deliver! The girls here did an AHHHHH-​mazing job with my bridal party, and I had the honor of having Nicole glam me up for my wedding.
The space is so chic and beautiful, and the girls are all so fun, friendly, and professional. I would definitely recommend anyone who needs their hair done to come here — you will not be disappointed.
Nicole, with her cute preggo self, listened to what I wanted, and gave me the soft, romantic up-​do I wanted. I couldn’t ask for better service, or better ambiance — she’s so personable and put me at ease with my pre-​wedding jitters.

I must admit, I have never been good about staying at one salon very long, but once I made my way to Vanity I was done looking. Jessica has been doing my hair for a year now and I wouldnt want to go anywhere else. The scheduling is always on point, my hair has never been healthier. I have been growing out my natural color, and Jessica has literally mastered it to the point you cannot tell my natural vs color hair as it grows. I thought it was impossible but she did it!
The décor is super cute, the blow dry bar is large and airy. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect experience.

Hair really makes a statement, It’s easy to see why hair extensions and hair implants are multi-​million dollar industries every year and only continue to grow (no pun intended). It’s also why people everywhere find a competent hairdresser/​stylist/​barber, and remain loyal for decades. Thus my insecurity with trying to find someone in Monterey who I could trust with my hair for a very important occasion, and I did find that person here at Vanity; Carissa.
The salon is modern, gorgeous, and classy. The quality of the products speak for themselves, Kerastase, and Shu Uemura for example. I showed Carissa the photos of the look that I was hoping for, and she was confident that we could achieve it in no time. Sitting with her for the hour while she styled my hair was fun, and I was comfortable with the way she worked.
At the end, the grand reveal was shocking. I seriously looked like something off a magazine cover, bouncy curls everywhere, volume, shine, and all sorts of diva-​ness. I’m excited to see the professional photos, because just looking at myself in the mirror, I knew that the time and money was well spent in Carissa’s talents. I walked out of the salon feeling like a million bucks, and overly thrilled in the outcome. I will likely return to try a blowout, as this was one of the best hair salon experiences I’ve ever had.

Booked a hair appointment with in-​demand owner/​stylist, Nicole Eldridge, for highlights and a hair cut. She did a wonderful job and exceeded my expectations. I wanted to go for a new summer do and Nicole helped me create a fun summer style and tame my locks with a wonderful deep conditioning treatment. She really took her time framing the layers around my face and spicing up my new do with some blunt-​cut bangs. Love em!
San Francisco-​trained stylist/​owner Nicole brings cutting-​edge hair styling to Monterey. Vanity specializes in luxe hair and skin care and is home to the only blow dry bar in the area. This beautifully appointed salon uses high-​end professional hair care products, including Shu Uemura, Kerastase and PCA skincare.
I love all the wonderful touches and design accents. Cozy contemporary couches, pretty lighting fixtures and inviting green plants and orchids. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee and bottled water upon my visit and the warm reception from the staff.
