We are a group that is focused on providing a safe and welcoming place for people to experience Argentine tango. We do this by offering a community practica on Tuesdays from 7 – 10 where dancers of all levels can come to learn, share and experience the magic of tango. We also have tango classes on Thursdays given by well know and established Bay Area teachers;tango fundamentals for all levels at 7, Intermediate class from 8:15 — 9:15 and a short practica from 9:15 — 10:00. No prior experience necessary nor is having a partner required. We have two monthly milongas on the 2d Sat and the 4th Sunday where we get together as a community and dance, socialize and enjoy a few hours of music, dancing and fellowship.

Established in 1990.
Tango Monterey Bay was founded by an Argentine who learned tango in the US and wished to create a local tango community in the Monterey Bay area so that he wouldn’t have to travel to the Bay Area to enjoy an evening of tango. We all know that Argentine Tango is much more than just a dance!

Charlie was introduced to tango when he took a date to Forever Tango in San Francisco in 2004. He attended his 1st milonga in late 2006 and started attending classes and workshops in Jan 2007 and has visited Argentina to study and experience tango in Buenos Aires on multiple occasions.
