Very rude lady !!! She told me that I was welcome to get a haircut; But my 11 year old son wasn’t…even there is pictures here in Unilocal,with youngsters and their haircut’s getting done at Reds… Shame on this business, for not POSTING a sign with «Adults Only»… Very misleading with the pictures… I will take my hard earned money somewhere.

One woman barbershop located right next to Mundo’s café in Monterey off Freemont. Great haircuts reasonable price, friendly conversation, and a positive upbeat barber. Thank you Red. Closed Mondays. You can drive by and see how crowded it is inside or just call ahead.

Disregard the pictures of the youngsters. This establishment no longer services customers under the age of 12. Major disappointment. However, the owner did inform me of the Hair Co. that will take all ages.

After leaving reds, I was left with more questions than answers.
Question 1) why do I have 3 different lengths of hair on my hairline in the front?
Question 2) why do the buzzes on the side go up to different heights i.e. 1 inch higher on right than the left
Question 3) why did I tip $ 10 on a $ 20 haircut that my friends have been roasting my relentlessly for? (I actually do know the answer for this. I wasn’t wearing my glasses)
1 star for being open the day after Christmas. 1 star for being cool. –3 stars for forcing me to buzz my hair I’ve been growing out for months after waiting 2 awkward weeks of having my F’d up hair line grow back out long enough to get it cut again.

I went to this place with an open mind and boy was I satisfied! I came in looking for a nice fade and a classic blend for my Classic Gentleman’s Slick back hair and she did a great job! I’ll be going back again!

I recommend this place !! Small, personal and professional. I went there looking for someone who could do African American hair and that’s when I meet Mara Carrillo she was awesome and very informative. Let me just say she knows what she is doing !!! Red and her make a great team Red and Mara are humours and easy to get along with and talk too. I will be coming back and also bringing friends and family members to them !!. I highly recommend them both.

Red is really funny and full of personality and did an awesome job! I went to her to get my side cut shaved off completely. Red was definitely respectful of my desires for my hairstyle but still was able to give some awesome suggestions that worked perfectly. Also my edges are on FLEEK and I’ve gotten several comments from friends who agree. Red can you come back with me to Philly? Please?

Red’s was amazing! I took my 4 year old nephew for his first big boy haircut and our barber was incredible. She showed him all the tools she was using and was very patient with him. Not letting my boyfriend go anywhere else after this experience. Thank you!

We have been looking for a place like this! Not sure why its so hard to find a place/​barber who can do a sweet fade and who you feel good giving your money too. Most places just try to hustle you in, out, and left with a «ok» cut. Red took the time with my son, she made him laugh, and he got the best haircut of his life. No joke! This place is legit!

My Husband and I were looking for a good barber, one who actually knows what they’re doing. We ended up finding a GREAT barber, Red. She took her time and knew exactly how to fade tight. She has a good attitude and easy to talk to. Go here, and you’ll look no further for a great barber.

I’m glad I found Red’s. I couldn’t find a barber in Monterey or Seaside that could do a decent job cutting African American hair. Then I found Red’s. She really did a great job on my head as well as my two sons. I will definitely make my weekly trip to her barber shop as long as I’m here in Monterey. If you need a barber don’t hesitate to go to Red’s.

I got a reccomendation from someone to go to Red. My nephew needed his hair cut and we were skeptical because the last person that cut his hair did a HORRIBLE job. Anyways. We went in and she got right down to business. She is very nice and we kept talking until BAM his hair was done her work is very neat, lining and all. We will definitely be back!
