I always walk by this place but for some reason I never checked this place out. I finally decided to upon hearing that they served Ful Medames. This place is great,& the staff very friendly & welcoming. I even got into a nice conversation with the manager, whom was very nice. He even gave me a free bottle of water before leaving, that was so sweet. The food here is very good, I can see why this place has so many great reviews. The Ful Medames is just wonderful & I really enjoyed the Falafel as well. Everything was incredibly delicious & made one great lunch today. I will defintely be back.

This place doesn’t look like much, but it’s truly a gem. I stopped in with my boyfriend for dinner and we were warmly welcomed by a man who I am assuming is the owner. He was very pleasant and took great care of us while we dined. The food is great. I tried the vegetarian platter, which came w/hummus, baba ganoush, dolmas, falafel, tabouleh and pita. The portion was good size(and very filling)! The hummus was unbelievable. I wish I could buy a tub of it! The herbal tea was also very good and sweetened with honey. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Love to support the mom & pop shops. Try this place out-you won’t be disappointed.

I came here for a quick lunch and ended up getting the original gyro combo: 1 large gyro, a ton of fries(or salad), and a soda for $ 11.25. The price seemed a bit high, but the gyro was large and tasted both fresh and yummy.

Awesome food, they are very generous with the meat portions in their shwarmas, which is hard to find! I absolutely love the chicken shwarma wrap which is served with grilled chicken breast. This place will definitely satisfy your hunger! The owner is makes you feel like you are a guest in his home when he serves you. You may have to park a couple of blocks away but it’s well worth it!

I had the combination plate which included gyro, grape leaves, tabouleh and hummus. It was decent greek food. Nothing that would make me want to come back. There wasn’t anything bad but nothing different that makes this place stand out.

BESTFOODONALVARADO. Wonderful family, really good food. I eat here everyday! Hands down best Gyro anywhere! They’re even open on the weekends far after the bars are for late night gyros, chicken gyros, and falafel sandwiches! Highly recommend it.

Delicious and fast! Petra’s is our go-to for a quick bite after a long day at work. Put in an order by phone and it will be ready in 5 – 10 minutes. The gyro combos are our favorites. Husband orders meat gyro and I always get the chicken gyro. I only get sad when I’ve finished a gyro! Salads that come with the combos are fresh, and I love that they’re always different. I enjoy the surprise of finding a pickle or a few kalamatas with a hunk of fresh feta, or finding them all together this time! I found out the desserts are not made at the establishment. I’ve tried the baklava and found I couldn’t finish it in one sitting because it was so dense. We are always full after eating a combo so we usually skip the desserts anyway. Petra’s Café is definitely a local hole-in-the-wall gem.

Very good! It was my first time there and I was quite happy. More of a lunch or takeout kind of place but still good. Worth a try and make sure to get the gyro lamb plate, soooo good.

In typical Mediterranean restaurant fashion, this place lacked in décor — however the food and service were amazing. The gentlemen that works the cash wrap(assuming is the owner) was so kind. The lentil soup was extremely delicious; I would love to replicate it at home. The chicken gyro combination was a lot of food. The gyro is gigantic and filled with flavorful chicken. The fries were the only disappointment; but, they have potential.

This hole in the wall is not only delicious but great service too! First the food: amazing baba ganoush, dolmas, chicken shwarma, baklava. Great portions and very fresh tasting. Nothing was bad, all exceeded expectations. Service: When I couldn’t tip with a credit card I returned with cash and was told that I shouldn’t worry about it, «it would be a pleasure to serve you without a tip.» Of course I couldn’t not tip, and when I did I was told it was«too much.» So sweet and kind of course I insisted and it was well deserved. I would return in a heartbeat, hopefully with more people so I can order more!

The gyro sandwich was good better than most I’ve had from other places. When I first had the Turkish coffee it was fantastic. I’ve ordered it two other times since then but it hasn’t been as good. Not sure what the deal is. I will definitely come back though. The staff members are really nice and welcoming. I feel like my business is really appreciated here.

Eating healthy tonight! I’ve been here a few times before and I love this place. Even when I came in after the club, drunk off my ass, they are always nice people. I got the Petra combo but wanted an extra kabob so he made one special just for me(extra $ 3.50). So I got hummus, rice, salad, pita bread, yogurt, Gyro, Chicken kabob and a Kafta! So good! I didn’t think I could eat it all but I did!

Delicious food, love this place. This place is a whole in the wall, serves food on paper plates and plastic utensils. But the passion behind the food and the business is clear. The owner came to our table and neatly arranged our places, then brought out some incredible food. Highly recommend the falafel nuggets!

I decided to go for a vegetarian platter for lunch yesterday. First off, the owner was friendly and helpful. I ordered, had a seat and waited for my lunch. Everything on the platter was delicious. I would have liked more tabbouleh(but that’s cause I love tabbouleh), the felafel was fresh and tasty and the hummus delicious. Anyway, the entire meal was great and I’d happily return.

Came here on a Saturday late afternoon. It wasn’t too busy. It was kind of a hole in a wall place, usually they have great food in those places, but this one is just ok. The lady at the counter was not super friendly, but not too rude either, it was just ok. I took the food to go and walked to the ocean front and ate it there, which was really nice. I got a gyro combo with fries. Geez, it was a lot of fries. And the gyro itself was huge. It was literally too much food for me. Or, maybe the gyro wasn’t so tasty so I felt that it was too much food? Anyway, I didn’t finish it. And this very hungry seagull took one of my leftover fries. I think it was too big and dry for the sea gull because he coughed for a bit. Then I took my food away from him. I think Greek food could be a little better!

This place is incredible. Absolutely authentic and probably the best gyro I have have in the last 2 years. What a great find! The restaurant itself is pretty tiny looking from the outside so it can be hard to miss but it’s definitely worth a try. The employees were super nice and the gyro meat is amazing… street parking. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!!!
