I want to thank massage therapist Sydney Hughes for the amazing work she did for me a few days ago! I did not have a lot of hope for improvement with my lower back issues, but what a huge difference her work on me made. I don’t recall how I first came in the doors of Optimal Health. Maybe it was luck, but it was a very good thing for me. I have worked with a half dozen doctors in his field and Glenn is among the best I have worked with. If I were still in the Monterey area I would surely be a regular customer.
Convenient location and infectiously positive attitude helps round on the experience.
He really puts the «whole» in holistic healing.

I was referred to Glenn by a friend who thought I would be intrigued by acupuncture. I made an initial appointment and have been seeing him for about 2 months to treat a variety of issues. (Joint paint, anxiety, stress) It has been an great experience. The office is warm, friendly and inviting. If I arrive a few minutes early, there is a comfortable waiting room with a lot of literature about the benefits of acupuncture. While I know there are other clients there while I am there, the rooms are clean and the place is quiet and relaxing. I always feel that Glenn is completely focused on me and my treatment that day. He is very knowledgeable about healing and alterntaive medicine which of course, I like, but more than that he is intuitive, funny and very realistic. For example, if I complain about my job, he says, «so quit.» I like that. He gives me perspective without judgement. I like him. I’ve told people I would go to Optimal Health just to talk to Glenn for 10 minutes and rest in one of the rooms. Today I had a cold he treated. He explained how colds are viewed and treated with Chinese medicine– he said I had a «wind cold.» As I often do after my treatments, I come home and research things he’s told me-​his diagnosis seemed right on today with what I had been experiencing the past few days.
To be honest, I know very little about acupuncture or herbs or healing but I do know that I have felt much less anxiety since I’ve been seeing Glenn. But, even maybe more important, I like to be listened to, be able to ask questions, have my treatment explained and treated with respect. That’s what will keep me going back as often I can to Optimal Health.

I wish I could put negative 5 stars if I could buy we all know Unilocal does not function that way. Here’s my story, I purchased a groupon for $ 39 for a 60 minute massage a few months back and attempted to make an appt a few weeks back and requested for a sat appt, unfortunately the lady inspire with says there are closed on saturdays, so I call back a few days later and requested a Friday she says only opening is for a Saturday. Uhhh… I guess they can’t make up their mind on business hours… anyway I finally call and settled on a Monday appt at 1100. Come appointment day, I get a call from work to come in asap, so I call at 1000 am and spoke with a male I believe his name was Glen but not sure. I tell him my situation and he immediately his tone is upset and states in a rude obvious angry irritated tone/​voice, that what they call emergency is a death in a family and goes on to rant about how he pay $ 16 to groupon and that he has to pay his therapist and is obviously upset at me for calling in one hour before appt time. yeah I get I I’m sorry but life happens. I was just appalled at how rude he was. Unfelt like he was scolding me and that he was blaming me for purchasing a groupon that he paid so cheaply for. This was by far one of the wost phone customer services I have Ever received. To end it he stated he had to redeem my groupon. I don’t care I do not want to patronize a business who treats customers that way! DO NOT GO HERE, beware of shady staff, owners. I will be posting more reviews of my experience on other travel sites and will be telling all my hospital coworkers to avoid this place at all costs!
