Mangold Property Management

I have rented from Mangold Properties a couple of times and each time I’ve had a good experience. I would recommend them anytime.

Honestly the worst management company ever. But I’ve have never been done so badly in my life. They will not call you back or discuss anything with you. I lived at the residence for literally one year and put a $ 2800 dollar deposit down. I only received $ 1200 back and I left the house in the same condition I had received it if not better. No damages, and very clean. Even their Pre inspection guy said the house looked great before leaving and barely looked as if anyone lived there. These guys will keep as much of your deposit as possible and make up weird stuff on the final bill to take up as much money from your deposit. I really wish I would have never rented from this place, and listened to the reviews. Now I have to sue them, glad I took pictures of how well the house was. If I can give you any advice, don’t rent from these guys.

Dennis the Property manager is the one plus to renting… cares for his tenants.

We have been tenants renting from Mangold for over 7 years. Never paid our rent late once. Always kept our home immaculately clean.
On our move out Dennis came into our home and told us we were the PERFECT tenants. Claimed he had never seen a home so clean after moving out. He informed us that we would receive our $ 3200.00 deposit back within one week. He then went back to his office, called a carpet man and had him pull up the carpets that we had been living on for over 7 years. When we moved in they did not pull up the OLD stained carpets to show us underneath, but now Mangold is holding our deposit for FURTHER REVIEW???
Their polices are made up off what comes from a bull’s behind. Juvenile, deceitful and downright DISHONEST.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Mangold team! Erika was extremely supportive and helped us find the perfect studio apartment.

There’s not much to add that hasn’t already been said. I’m really surprised Mangold Properties has actually been able to acquire 2 stars. They truly deserve a half star at best. I will keep it simple:
1) They overcharge for rent
2) Repairs do not occur in a timely manner, if ever. Even emergent problems
3) They will use your security deposit to repair problems you were not at fault for in order to benefit the homeowner
4) They do not know how to communicate on the most basic level. Calls will not be returned. Problems will go unresolved. There will be no closure. No professionalism. No decency. No respect.
It’s embarrassing and unfortunate that a property management company, that is supposed to make renting easier, takes advantage of so many people. If you have an option to live anywhere else other than in a Mangold property (including under a bridge), TAKE IT! The service would honestly be about the same as under the bridge

Absolute nightmare!!! If zero stars was an option, that’s what I would have given! They owe me $ 70 and they keep saying they’ll look into it but they never do! After nearly six years in that horrible apartment, with leaks in the ceiling, mold in the bedroom wall, the front door knob falling off and trapping me inside multiple times, and the landscaping never done but instead allowed to over grow the driveway, front walkway, and living room window, they still can’t even count right to give me my deposit refund!!! It’s obvious they’re just hoping I will give up! They even tried to get me to sign a waiver saying they don’t have to give me an itemized list of what they take out of my deposit!!!
AVOID MANGOLD AT ALL COSTS!!!

I want to give this place zero stars. Unbelievably horrible. They will knock on your door, force their way in… good thing I had my chain lock on. I’m guessing they are possessed by the devil… in any case… never, never, never rent from them (they most likely take your overpriced rent, for a not so good place that always has problems which they go around about ways of not fixing… and either head to the bar… or the nearest casino, and spend your hard earned money.) Terrible terrible people!!!

My mother was a tenant in one of their properties and passed away from breast cancer on January 15^th. We knew it was coming so we went to the office and gave notice on January 13^th. We knew we were breaking her lease but were told they would work with us. We let them show the property even when we were in the middle of losing our mom. We were completely out of the house on February 9^th in hopes of getting some of her deposit back to pay her bills. Not only did we get NOTHING back but we got a letter from Michelle Donahue telling us we OWED $ 108. She addressed the letter to my mother who was deceased and threatened to send her to collections if she did not get payment in 20 days! And she sent the letter to the rental address which we had moved out of long ago even though we gave them a forwarding name and address. If I was not smart enough to forward my mother’s mail to my house then I would have NEVER gotten the letter and this company would send a deceased woman to collections over $ 108. I actually cried when I read the letter because I could not believe how we were being treated after we had just lost our mom. During the worst time in our lives we were told they would work with us and said all the right things and in the end they took every last dollar they could.
NEVER use this company… NEVER!!!

Moving to Monterey, wanted to work with a property management company to ensure a smooth move and quick rental find. Called looking for help and was told to call back at the end of the month. So, instead of building a customer relation, and helping me understand the market I got no help what so ever.

I have lived at a mangold property for two years. My rent has increased twice since my contract ran out but that is not te reason for one star. Since living here I have had to make numerous maintenance requests that they took forever to respond too and tried to charge me twice for something they never fixed the first time. Also there are cock roaches in these apartments that they dont do anything about. Finally after 3 complaints they sent someone with traps which I had already done myself anyway. They dont care.
However today on Sept 9Th I called to complain that people in my resident keep blocking my car by parking sideways. They are not parking spots and I cant go in and out as need be. But my issue is when I called the guy said he would help me but put me on hold within 20 SECONDS. And then when I got off hold he didnt let me finish talking and transfered me to a voicemail.
Before I moved in they were incredibly helpful. After I started paying rent though the stopped caring.
When I move I will definitely be looking somewhere else.

I have nothing but nice things to say about their management. Everyone communicates with each other, they are very prompt with questions and concerns, and they work with you.
My fiancé and I are having to break our lease due to personal circumstances and each person on the management team has called us to make sure everything is okay, and to let us know how to go about breaking the lease. Anytime we have a question, someone calls us back quickly.
I’m sure each apartment unit is different, however when we first moved in there were a few issues– leaks, a broken dishwasher, and a few broken blinds. Whenever we called to put in a work order, someone was out to our apartment very quickly. Although, no one ever fixed our blinds but that was the least bit of our concerns.
This company is very well managed, I’ve been impressed.

Mangold was very helpful in every way possible during our lease term. The staff in the office were always very friendlyl. The most amazing experience I had during our lease was when Cal Am tried to stick us with a $ 4,400 water bill for a toilet that was unnoticeably running over a two month period. The president of Mangold, Craig Coming took it upon himself to personally contact upper management at Cal Am and they agreed to adjust the bill down to our historical water usage rates. That saved us thousands of dollars! We’d recommend Craig and Mangold to anyone looking to have a property managed or looking to rent. They are fair and do everything in their power to make sure their clients needs are met.

My experiences with Mangold have been nothing but professional and pleasant. I have used their service in total for about 3 years. I have rented on 2 seperate occasions and would have no hesitations in using them again or refering them.
I would like to specifically point out Erica and Sandy. I can not sing their praises enough. Erica has handled every detail from start to finish without any hiccups and always provided me with honest feedback and guidance during my time as a renter. Sandy graciously worked with me on the rent side, i.e. payment when things came up and I needed a special arrangement.
Mangold is a respected and courtious business whom I would gladly return for services if needed.

Worse management company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. The apartment was cute, and my roommate and I loved it, but if I could go back and not rent this place I would. First, we had problems with the water, in that we had no hot water. It took them a week to address this issue and they didn’t give us a rent discount or any form of compensation. Second, they took forever to give us any amount of our deposit back. I’m talking months, which is unacceptable.

In 2012, I Short-​Sale my home, I was Nervous in entering the Rental Market, but I was blessed and was treated with respect and Erika property manager’, made those difficult times”, EASIER!
I was there for a year, they were Never intrusive*, when I completed my 1 year lease”, Eric’, another property Manager went out of his way to promptly return our Security Deposit!*
I’m not making this up’, I’m not getting compensated in any way”. Just speaking the truth.

My experience with Mangold was HORRIBLE from the moment we walked in. My friend and I walked in and the worker there barely acknowledged us, and I had to be the mature one and ask her how her day was going and such. She was very stand-​offish, and wasn’t trying to work with us trying to find a rental.
After going through the available rentals, we found a place we wanted to look at. She provided us with the keys, and we went and looked at the property. We really liked it, and decided we wanted to fill out an application for it.
After paying the application fee and turning everything in, we were told we would be called by the end of the day. No call. I waited a day, figuring they were busy processing our application. Finally after two days, I called and asked for an update. Apparently they hadn’t even processed our application! They finally forwarded it to an agent to help us out.
Two days later from that call, so almost a week after we filled out our application, I get an e-​mail from the agent saying that unit was already being rented out. That’s all. She didn’t even try to suggest another place, and didn’t really provide much information, or an explanation as to why it was still listed as available.
It was extremely frustrating, and eventually I argued to get a refund for my application fee back. Even if you fall in love with a property under these people, be ready to really be on the offensive, because they’re not willing to work with you as a customer and/​or potential renter.

Mangold doesn’t even deserve 1 star. They are terrible and I am warning you to stay away. They will steal all your money and have terrible customer service.

This review is not for Mangold Inc. specifically, but rather an extremely rude lady that works for them that was doing an open house showing one day. Her attitude was inexcusable, unprofessional, and totally flat-​out rude.
Mangold Inc. might be a great property management company (their office staff is professional and polite), but my experience with that particular lady ended any future interactions I could have had with them.

NEVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! As a military family, it is easy to get taken advantage of because we dont have time to sit and fight landlords when it comes time to move. This was not the case with my family. It was only because I had JAG call them on our last day did we get our deposit back!
The ladies who answer the phones are nice, but the maintenance team is worse than the three stoogies! One guy had us complete the connection on our thermostat with a steak knife to get our heater to come on and another had to show up every three days because my toilet wouldnt flush!
My personal favorite lie was being told that the weird little hut next to the rental property was the transformer box for the neighboring hotel. It wasn’t. IT WAS THE FRIGGIN DUMPSTER! Nothing says home like being woken up in the middle of the night to hear raccoons fight over scraps or hear rats in your walls!
I truely feel sorry for those who can never get their money back from these awful people. The only reason i did is when you get a phone call by someone who has done three tours in Iraq, you tend to listen.
