A few days ago I made a reservation for a shuttle ride to the airport tomorrow morning. Through the Main Event Transportation website, it clearly states that they allow pets as long as they are in a carrier. Luckily I put a note on my purchase that I would be bringing a small dog along with me. I received a call this morning stating that they don’t allow pets because the shuttle is through Monterey Airbus. Even though I paid through Main Event Transportation’s website. I was clearly upset when I called this morning to get this figured out, but the customer service rep hung up on me. Not only did I clearly overpay for the Airbus because I could’ve booked through their site for $ 35 and Main Event Transpo charged me $ 64, but now I don’t have a ride to the airport this morning. I saw no disclaimer saying that my reservation was being booked through Monterey Airbus and pets wouldn’t be allowed. Them contracting out to a company which has different policies and no disclaimer to note the difference seems absurd.

We have had the pleasure of utilizing Main Event numerous times in the last five years – we cannot be more pleased with their service, professionalism, and care. All of the drivers have been courteous, prompt and very accommodating. One time we were rescued from San Francisco due to a foggy night in Monterey and will be forever grateful! Another heavenly experience was when we and another couple returned from an 18 hour travel day – we stretched out with luxury to our own homes feeling pampered and grateful to not have to drive. Our next trip to San Jose airport is already scheduled with Main Event – woohoo!

Outstanding service from A to Z! Ladies in the offices who did the booking were savvy, polite & patient. Vehicles were clean & new. Drivers were professional, polished, knowledgeable & courteous. All went above & beyond. Their services over 4 days took our visit to the next level, making it memorable & wonderful. Highly recommend & look forward to working with them again.

One name, Sam. This guy single handily made my Wife and I private eloping ceremony in pebble beach, exceed any expectations we had for ourselves. Sam was the complete package and I mean the complete package, I never met a limo driver quite like him. In fact there is very few people on this earth that are willing to go the extra mile like Sam did for our marriage. Sam not only brought the style, the charm, professionalism, politeness, and the likes of a personal assistant to the table that one would expect a limo driver to do. However he brought a lot extra, he became our personal photographer and he knew how to use the professional camera we brought. He seemed to have some knowledge in profession photography as he was getting us in poses where the background lighting was just perfect. He would even move or rotate objects just so that they looked great in a photo, like he did with the limo by moving it and putting it on a slant to capture the limo, us, and the ocean. Sam would climb rocks, get on top of walls to make sure he was getting the best shot for us. After seeing our photos weeks after, we were sure glad to of had Sam that day. After our ceremony Sam took us on a ride thru Carmel and Pebble Beach and let me just say he knew his stuff, and his way around. He was able to explain a lot of history and interesting facts about the area, and even show us some of the land marks that make the area popular. Then when my wife and I wanted to do a few drinks at various locations, he knew exactly where to take us. The places were not only rich in history, and some great drinks and sitting outdoors. However they also had some great views and Sam had no problem capturing some photos of us anytime we wanted them. Sam always made sure we were comfortable and were enjoying ourselves, occasionally walking into the bar/​restaurant that we were at, just to make sure we were enjoying the selection he choose for us and offering up a tip or information about the place. The night ended with my new Wife and I at Rocky Point Restaurant where the views were off the chart, and Sam once again managed to get photos that are wall framed worthy for our home of the sun setting in the back ground of us. All I can say is Sam went above and beyond and was quickly accepted by my Wife and I as a friend who was our DD for the night making sure we were ok and having a great time on our wedding day. Often just taking the time to share stories, talk, lots and lots of laughs and get to know one another while sharing a drink (non-​alcoholic for Sam of course, LOL). Sam was never pushy or where you felt he was in your face, he just was going above to make sure our day was everything it could be and everything we wanted. Never ever did I picture our wedding to go quite like the way it ended, but I’m sure glad Sam was our driver that day/​evening as he made our special day go beyond anything we ever pictured for ourselves. From the bottom of Kate and I hearts Sam, thank-​you for being you, your just too awesome. An though you started off as our Limo driver, you were a friend by the end of our night.

Used Main Event Transportation last Saturday night– a van… best service ever! The driver was super nice — handled everything so well even though it was crazy crowded and lots of traffic at our event! I highly recommend them– and will use them again myself.

Booked a mini shuttle for my welcome/​rehearsal dinner and for the wedding. Both went smoothly. Thank you! The drivers were professional and the shuttles very clean.

We hired a van to take our party of 8 to Sierra Mar at the Post Ranch Inn for a Thanksgiving celebration. We had a fun and entertaining driver named Jim who we all enjoyed. A driver we highly recommend. The Main Event reservation desk was professional, courteous and attentive with the arrangements as well as accommodating the varies pick-​up and drop-​off locations for our guests. The reservation confirmation sheet was exact with the instructions and terms discussed. The fee for a holiday rental of nearly 8 hours was a fair and appropriate price. We would definitely use this transportation service again! Thank you all at Main Event for a wonderful start and conclusion to a very special day with family and friends we don’t see often. It is so nice when complicated transportation needs are seamless!

We had a limo for the evening. Our driver was named Sam! I’m writing this review simply because he was AMAZING! Unbelievably nice and accommodating. If you hire main event, ask for him… You will absolutely not be disappointed.

I had a large event (over 200 people) with complicated logistics. Main Event was flexible, patient, quick to respond and competent. Their prices are good (we’re a non-​profit) and their drivers are communicative. I am grateful for their work, even when things went wrong (delayed flights), they had a backup in place for me. I recommend working with them.

Called Main Event today hoping to arrange a drop off and pick-​up to Monterey Airport. I live in Monterey about a half mile from Main Event office. The airport is approximately 4.8 miles from my house. When the lady quoting the service told me a sedan pick-​up and drop off would cost $ 105.75 ea way I nearly fell off my chair. I asked if she could do any better or perhaps offer a less expensive vehicle or option. She said no.
I called Yellow Cab’s Monterey number. Super friendly staff agent took my address and provided a quote of $ 15, no more than $ 16 each way … needless to say I arranged this service with them locked in a pick-​up time.
I’m frustrated Main Event is charging this much to travel 4.8 miles. When I lived in Rio Del Mar, I would pay Early Bird based in Santa Cruz $ 110 ea way to San Jose airport … clearly Main Event doesn’t need nor want my business and I’m ok with that. Godspeed.

We hired them to shuttle guests to/​from our wedding. The whole team was AMAZING! They were on time + patient the day/​night of. And, amazing with follow-​up and communication leading up to the event. Thanks guys!

Although very professional and easy to deal with on the phone and via email, Main Event did not quite hit the mark for me. I probably discussed the exact timeline I wanted with them 15 times and they still didn’t meet it. Not only did I give them a drop dead time to leave by, I gave them a list of names and said «if everyone on this list is on the bus, the driver can leave early.» Well the driver arrived at the venue 35 minutes early — leaving my guests to stand out in the cold and us not ready for them, which was only about 4 minutes after the time he was supposed to leave the hotel 30+ minutes away. My guests said the driver left minutes after arriving and clearly not all guests were on board because several of them drove. Considering how much time I spent explaining the necessity of the timeline to them, they still got it wrong. I will give them a thumbs up on having clean/​nice transportation.

We used Main Event for a wine tasting day in Carmel. Our driver, Ramesh, was awesome – he arrived slightly earlier than our pick-​up time (which we thought was great) and he was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We really didn’t have to think about anything and were able to just enjoy the day.
Also, their rates are competitive – we booked with them but then later found other quotes for less, and they were willing to match the other quotes.
It was a great experience all around and we’d definitely use them again.

We used main event limo for our wedding on Nov 11, 2012 and everything went well. Our church was located on a local army post, we needed to submit the limo driver’s details in advance to the army post — main event was very helpful and followed up ahead of time. The driver was professional and courteous. We had a guest lose his wallet in the church. We requested the driver rush back to the church before it was locked up, the driver did not hesitate to navigate the limo on the small windy military base roads back to the church, and we found the wallet just in time! We would recommend main event limo.

Ordered two vans and a town car last minute for my June wedding. I was worried about what the vans would look like but they were perfect. More like party buses than vans. Drivers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had no complaints from guests which was amazing considering that the two vans had to move a lot of people really quickly. Pricing was more than reasonable.

I had a contract with Main Event to transport myself and entire wedding party to the wedding location. Pick up for the groom and groomsmen started late, the driver was unable to drive the vehicle with ease and this made it where he was unable to get the men to the wedding location in time. What should have been a 10 minute drive turned into over a hour. My wedding did not start on time because I should have been there at 2 p.m., Got there an hour late. I had to chase the driver down in my wedding gown, before we were picked up. Then I had to walk ½ mile down a dirt access road which the company claimed they had been down several times and would be able to get me there with no problem, the driver was unable to drive the road. He never took the bridal party to the reception prior to the groom and I, and never got our red carpet or just married signs. This company is a joke, and I would never recommend them. They are not willing to even discuss this situation with me. I ended up having to pay extra to the officiant because we started over an hour late.
