Dentists (and their hygienists) are a very personal choice. When I moved to Monterey I was lamenting finding a new dentist. Dr. L is walking distance from my house so I figured I’d give him a try first. The initial impression was good, their rooms are high-​tech and comfortable. They accept Anthem insurance, so are affordable. I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort during several catch up restorative procedures. All in all a good experience and my search for the best Monterey dentist is over.

Quick story to sum up Dr. Leamy’s dedication and professionalism. On a Saturday night, one of my teeth became loose. I took a chance and texted Dr. Leamy about it. Not only did he respond immediately, but he met me at his office the next day, Sunday, and proceeded to fix everything perfectly, all while we enjoyed Sunday football games on his TV’s. I’ve always been impressed with his professionalism, honesty, and work. His DENTAL staff and team are equally impressive and relatable. The receptionist can be difficult, but The Dr. Leamy experience is well worth it.

Dr. Leamey & his staff know how to make a patient feel comfortable & relaxed. I started seeing Dr. Leamey this year after cracking a tooth & he got me right in. He took care of my tooth with out any pain at all.
Everyone that works in his office is very accommodating, professional, & care about what they are doing. The office is extremely clean, comfortable, & the equipment used is all the latest technology. I would highly recommend Dr. Leamey for anyone in the Monterey County Area.

I have been a patient of Dr. Leamey’s for many years, and have found him to be incredibly honest, caring, deliberative, talented, and thorough in his treatments. I have had several different dental procedures performed in his office, and in every instance have had the options detailed to me beforehand, and followup where necessary afterward. Dr. Leamey has seen me for emergencies on short notice, and has returned calls promptly when I have had questions. An extra plus is his great sense of humor! In all, I just can’t imagine having better dental care.
Added to that, his office has the most unfailingly cheerful staff around. I am always greeted with a smile by the office manager. The dental technicians are friendly, upbeat, and extremely competent, and the dental hygienist is tops! I look forward to seeing them all every time I have an appointment.

Dr. Leamey actually came in on a Saturday, during Labor day weekend to see me. I was on vacation in the area and one of my crowns came off. While on the phone with him, I asked that he check it out and glue it back on with temp cement until I could see my regular dentist.
Shortly after we met, he decided that he didn’t wish to glue it back on and that the proper way to deal with it was to redo the entire crown/​post… At this point I was bummed but understood his unwillingness to get into this on the weekend.
Then he proceeded to make a plastic tray, like a bleaching tray, for me to hold the loose tooth in place. I wasn’t happy, didn’t ask for the tray and used it about a minute before I told him it wasn’t going to work for me — In short, he charged me $ 145 for the office visit (ok with this part) and then $ 185 for the worthless tray. Then he sent me home with my tooth just the way I started.
I have to say that as I look back, I really appreciate him coming in on 4^th of July weekend. His heart was in the right place, just not his bedside manner.

I recently needed to make several visits to the dentist. Dr Leamey goes way beyond any other health provider I have ever experienced, in his care for his patients. He even called from an airplane while heading out of town to follow up with me. Excellent experience. My root canal physician also commented on what a great dentist he is as well.

Dr. Leamey referred me out for a root canal before he applied a crown. The tooth was prepped by Dr. Leamey. As soon as the second doctor took one look at my tooth he chuckled. I asked him what was so funny. His reply sticks with me today. «Classic Leamey. This is as clean and prepped as a tooth can be. Man, he’s a perfectionist.»
I prefer my dentist to be perfectionists. Glad I found the right one.
Dr. Leamey is a class act. I recommend him totally.

I needed a dental cleaning and was referred to Dr Leamy by a friend when I moved to the area. I had been to another dentist 1 year earlier with no problems. Hdr. Leamy looked at my teeth and said I needed «root scaling» and that it would take several visits. Obviously it was going to be expensive. I got a second opinion from an older more experienced dentist who said all I needed was a cleaning and «root scaling» was very aggressive. I haven’t had any problems since the cleaning. Beware.

Dr. Leamey I think is the best dentist around. I have been going to him sense 2008 and is staff is the best! I recommend him to anyone looking for a great dentist.

Dr. Leamey is the best dentist in Monterey in my family’s opinion. My family has been going to see him for over 11 years. I always fill confident that he will take care of us and he is so great with my children. Dr. Leamey will always ask you about a procedure before he does it, or before he charges you. We look forward to having our teeth checked and cleaned twice yearly. My husband use to have dental phobia before he met Dr. Leamey and now my husband does not complain.

Went here to get a checkup done. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. The office looks like it is in an old colonial home which is very cute. The entire place is very clean and has many new features.
The entire process was painless and quick which is always a plus. They have flat screens on the walls so you can kick back which getting your teeth picked at. Dr. Leamey was polite and quick. They also give you a goodie bag with a toothbrush and floss.
Overall my experience here was a good one and would recommend Dr. Leamey to all my friends.
