Footprints On the Bay

Footprints was a great apartment complex for the few years we lived there. The location was amazing, right by the 1N and 1S. It was super close to the local shopping area and not far from any other attractions Monterey has to offer. The complex was quiet for the most part. It is close to a local college, so the track was open to the community. The office and maintenance staffs were super helpful and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Updating my review since I’ve lived here for a few years now. I still love the apartment complex. It’s a great community, it’s generally quiet with only an occasional party held by some 20-​somethings but it’s rare, the grounds are very well kept, the office staff is very friendly and helpful, the pet policy is great, and the community feels safe.
I’m keeping my review at 4 stars though because it’s VERY expensive to live here. I understand that market and housing prices dictate rent rates, but it’s still just so expensive. And then the only main improvement that could be made to the community is the gym, and the laundry room. The laundry room is awful, the machines are always broken, there aren’t that many machines to begin with, and they’re all just old and don’t work very well. Other than my complaint about the laundry room, I still love living here!

My wife and I lived here for two years and loved our one bedroom apartment. It was bright, large, open, and had a nice patio area for my BBQ. They allow pets which was great and the complex is actually fairly quiet and we rarely heard any dogs barking, thanks to all of the good owners and well behaved pets. The surrounding area is nice and is only a few minute walk to MPC and a short drive or bike ride to Downtown Monterey or Del Monte mall. It’s close to Highway 1 and made for an easy commute to our jobs in Watsonville (30 min.) and Salinas (20min.). The staff is great and always helpful.

I will absolutely miss this place!!! My job requires me to move often and it can be very stressful and expensive at times. I chose to move here because the apartment was fairly updated and spacious; there was assigned parking; and the rent was reasonable for this area. The apartment complex is set apart from the main traffic which makes this place an ideal neighborhood. A local college, MPC, is very close by and tenants have easy access to the track & field across the street. Also, the Del Monte Shopping Center is only minutes away which includes dining, a cinema theater, popular retail stores and my favorite, Whole Foods! What I will miss most is the hospitable staff. They were always friendly yet professional and whenever I put in a work order, it was completed within a day. Beth was one of the sweetest individuals I’ve met and her smile and kindness was always a warm welcome whenever I entered the residential office. The grounds were maintained very nicely. Although I did not have a pet, this was a pet friendly community and the tenants are very respectful of their neighbors. I can honestly say that this place felt like home for the 2.5yrs I lived there. I will recommend this place for anyone who moves to Monterey.

This fall I will be attending CSUMB, so my parents and I are looking for an apartment desperately when we came across this beautiful and quaint vicinity. I instantly fell in love as it was hidden and serene among the trees. Beth, the property manager was so down to earth and so easy to talk to as she understood our dilemma. She was so helpful as she explained in detail of the apartment layouts. Beth was so awesome, a typical mom who even talked us through the safe parts of Monterey, as we are from Southern California. We all instantly became very comfortable with her. I’m crossing all fingers that by the end of our apartment hunt this is the one!
