We are back and hood system works perfect today; not sure what happened last time but today there was zero smoke around the cooking area. A+

Zero star for this restaurant. Seorakasan is a mountain in South Korea. Save your precious appetite, money & time by staying away from this wannabe Korean barbeque restaurant, which they don’t serve Korean barbeque. Lol! No sauce to go with the meat. It clearly shows that the owner is lost, clueless, and wasting customers money on crappy food. One of the male server’s attitude was so bad that I was going to tell him to bring another server to serve us. No managers, no guidance. Owners fault due to lack of guidance and training the staffs, especially the chef and the menu is a freakin joke! This is not Korean. They misleading this restaurant as a Korean restaurant. I just ate the food because I was so hungry even though the food was horrible. Sugar salad will make you vomit. Don’t waste time asking servers questions about the menu. He will give you bad attitude. I asked for hot water, and the male waiter said we don’t have hot water, just only hot tea. Lol! This restaurant has crazy fetish for sugar. They put mother load of sugar on everything. Disgusting! $ 25 crappy food. Male server didn’t give plates and spoon. What the heck is this soup?! Miso? Lol! I got so much more negative things to say, but I won’t have enough space to write it all. Go to Gen Korean barbeque. $ 15 lunch & $ 20 dinner. High quality meat. OO-KOOK Korean BBQ The owner should eat at these restaurants and get more knowledge and fix the problems at their restaurant. All staffs looked so lost and confused and forgot our orders. Lol!

I heard there was ventilation problem when it just opened, but seems it’s fixed now. I like that it’s charcoal bbq and it gives the meat that special taste, but I do have the same list of cons that other reviewers mentioned here. Weekend dinner menu was $ 24.99 per person. Menu selection was very limited with some beef, pork, shrimp, some veggies, soup and noodle. My friend and I ordered beef tongue a few times since we think that tasted the best and we don’t have many other options. The grill was a little small and the fire only centers on the grill so I think it made it a bit difficult to cook a lot of meat at a time. They were accommodating enough to let my friend and I split the bill 30⁄70 on two cards. Usually Chinese restaurant either don’t take credit card or don’t take more than one card, so I was glad that they took our cards.

This place is absolutely awful! They wouldn’t seat me because I came by myself(on my lunch break). They said it’s a 2 person minimum. I inquired as to why I wasn’t allowed to eat at there establishment and they refused to give me an answer. I finally spoke to the manager and he said«charcoal is expensive and not worth for only one person». I’ve never been at an establishment who has done this before. I will never come back to this place. They totally discriminated because I chose to eat solo. What kind of ish is that! Awful experience! Don’t spend you’re money here!

This is a very authentic Northeast Chinese Korean style BBQ! the taste is some what different from south Korean BBQ, but it is the exact taste as the BBQ in my hometown Shenyang.是东北人必须给赞一下 If you are from North part of China, you will love it. But people have different taste, I do not know others, I personally love it. The customer service is pretty good, too.

It was Aug 20 or 21 around 4pm i went there. The front door waitress told me cause there are high cost material food, so, can not be eat by one person party(mean talk faces) I try to find people join w me but, at end I still eat by myself and pay two people prices. When I check bill in debits card, she request see my ID(I didn’t bring it, so I paid cash) she said: a lot of people used fake credit card, I don’t know does u?。after few months I still feels piss of her service. Guess this restaurant gonna close in one years cause the waitress(too much non sense talk to customers) and, meat isn’t good enough anyway; and real Korean BBQ open soon at Althanic & Garvey.

I love how people complain about the weirdest thing here. Okay first of all, this is not korean bbq(points at the chinese) therefore it wont be like korean bbq(points at the restaurant name). Personally i like it. Its a different experience and new way to cook the food. The pros — the quality of the meat is really good. Im not a chicken person, so this place is a plus for me. The cold noodle is so good and so is the soybean soup. The cons– it can get smokey sometimes. And the waiter doesnt really respond to you often. You gotta just wave dramatically at the them and kinda be aggressive about what you want to order. Like i said, new experience. Pretty fun in a weird way Overall i love it.

DONOTCOMEHERE, THEYCHARGEFORKIDSTHATDONTEVENEATANDDONOTWARNUSOFIT. Basically, we sought great reviews here and when we walked in we are greeted with an inexperience server that claims that we have to pay for the kid even though he is sleeping. We states that he’s going to be asleep while we dine, but she argue that she will have to charge us for the sleeping boy. Also, when we asked nicely for the manager, she said that manager said so too. On what basis? Do not come!!! What kind of logic is this? If he doesn’t eat? We have to pay for his too? We just want him to be next to us to take care of just in case he cries. Do not come

Warning: nothing like ayce your LA style Korean BBQ! Do not come here if that’s what you’re craving. It is more like a fusion charcoal BBQ place, comparable to gyu kaku in the way that you cook the meats. They offer a limited variety of meats and sides. The dinner price is ~$ 21 and lunch is not much cheaper. I find it to be a little expensive for what you get. The quality of the meat was great, especially the beef tongue. The cold noodle soup is really flavorful and makes it a place worth trying. The sauce isn’t actually a sauce but a dry cumin powder which actually added a nice flavor I wasn’t used to tasting in BBQ, but it works. The cons are and a BIG one was that the tables and seats are very close to each other so when the coals get really hot the flames get a little out of control and sometimes felt a little too close for comfort. the booth chairs can’t move so you’re pretty much stuck with your face less than a foot away from a flame. Service is a hit or miss. Sometimes the servers were super attentive and other times they barely came by. I would say this place is worth trying just for the food quality but not somewhere I would visit regularly.

We got suckered thinking it was a Korean bbq AYCE kinda place like Gen; it was China BBQ. Anyway, where to start? This place was wall to wall black. Black walls, black floors, servers were all dressed in black. And the ventilation? Someone please call OSHA and check this place out. We were dying! The smoke was sooooo heavy. We even sat by the door(which was open, btw) and we were literally smoked out. I wear contacts and my eyes were fogged up the whole time. I couldn’t breath. There were children there and they were all suffocating! And it was soooooo hot in there. When I blew my nose later, black pieces of charcoal came out! Sooo gross. Let’s talk about the food. The dipping«sauce» was so funky. We knew instantly that it was catered for mainland china descendents. Personally, I didnt like the food at all. We wont be coming back but let me give u an example of something we ordered that taste like paper mache: the tendon! It was the nastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth! Not editible at all. Tendon is supposed to be alittle fatty, alittle transulent in color. This thing came out like pieces of wallpaper. When we asked the guy why does it look like that, he said it was already cooked. That we just had to grill it alittle. So we did. Try to bite into it and spat all of it out! Nasty! Nasty! NASTY! Those of u who like this place, kuddos to u. Don’t ever want to eat at a restaurant where I feel like I’m in a gas chamber ever again. The whole experience was just torture. Why didn’t we just walk out? Because my husband was on a mission to get our $$ worth. Grrrr. It’s not a cheap place either.

I have no idea why a Chinese style BBQ place would name their restaurant after a Korean mountain. Unless there is one in China too? I dunno. Anyways, I mistakenly thought this restaurant was KBBQ and eagerly went. Big mistake. The dipping sauce was not good. The meat was mostly tough and they literally give you about 6 pieces on a plate(of thinly sliced meat mind you) per order. Beef tongue was the exception and was actually decent. However, each order takes a long time to come out, which is a problem since your charcoal is dying. I gave up on this restaurant before I was full because I didn’t want to waste another hour or two of my life waiting for them to give me new charcoal and then give me small platters of meat.
In the end up, I wasted 2 hours of my time waiting for slow servers. I think I spend about 15 minutes in that time eating mediocre food. Also, avoid the cold noodles. It’s basically water with a little bit of flavor. Absolutely the worst restaurant I have been to in a long time, in terms of food and service.

Went again tonight around 645 and got seated immediately. Left at 840 and there were at least 20 people waiting. I made a mistake thinking it was a Korean AYCE. It’s actually Chinese based but it’s still very similar. The service was fine, several reviews make notice they bring out some of the meat before the coals, yes that happened but by less than two minutes, no big deal. No alcohol, but that’s ok. People have also made comments about things not being fresh. They seem to be mistaken, from the beef, shrimp, younger, enoki mushrooms, sweet potato, pork belly, cold noodle soup, tri tip, ALL was fresh, presented nicely and all brought in a very reasonable amount of time. Overall, a very tasty meal with good friends. People need to be reminded it is not Ruth’s Chris steakhouse, the service can always be better but it’s more than fine. Geez.

This is NOTKBBQ. It is more like xinjiang bbq. It is charcoal bbq with a cumin spice mix. Price for weekday dinner: $ 20.99AYCE. Needs at least 2 people. Basically only has options for beef, pork, and a couple seafood options. There is no lamb or chicken. Everything has sugar added to it and tastes super sweet. Except the dessert, which is tart like Korean yogurt drink. They barely speak English, and haven’t gotten the idea of how to run procedurally, yet. It may not be sanitary or convenient. They bring out raw meat before the charcoals are ready. The charcoal grill is only large enough to cook one order of meat at a time, so the raw meat may sit for half an hour before it gets cooked. If other people are waiting for their charcoal, you have to wait. They can only prepare one pot of charcoal at a time. They don’t give you plates to eat from. They take half an hour to get you a spoon for the soup. They give you the soybean stew(which they incorrectly call miso) instead of the Cold Noodle Soup you order. They accidentally think your table ordered two soybean stews, when you actually ordered none. They don’t understand English well enough to take your soybean stew away, so you are forced to eat it when you don’t really want it. When you get the cold noodle soup, it has sugar added to it, and the noodles are too hard. They aren’t chewy like they should be. Some items are actually pretty tasty. I liked the Pork Skin Aspic was interesting. It was pork skin pieces in a Agar Jelly. The Tri Tip and Pork Belly Skin(which I don’t think was actually skin) were tasty.

I literally left about 10 minutes ago, very dissatisfied with my meal. For starters they brought out all the meat except the charcoal grill. We sat and waited for the grill to come out. The meat looked unappetizing and tasted just how it looked. It did not look fresh and had a rainbow glaze on it. We were able to scrape whatever residue off several pieces. Everything was chewy and inedible. The pork belly was the saving grace, but I would not come here just to eat pork belly. I’m praying that I don’t get food poisoning. Save your money and go anywhere but here.
