I don’t know what these people are talking about! I came to get some good phở on this cold morning. So I Unilocaled for a good phở restaurant. Came to phở Tony expecting good phở! Very disappointed! Should have went to phở hong long on gravey!

I think Phở Tony has gone out of business :( I drove by around dinner time on Monday and it was dark inside. I stopped by again today and looked inside, it was still dark, they had taken down some of their CA Lottery signs, their refrigerated case was gone, and there is a small pile of mail right inside the door :(No sign on the door about closure or «remodeling.» I hope they moved rather than having closed up shop for good — Phở Tony has been my favorite neighborhood phở place for years.

Staff is super attentive to their client needs. Food however is OK. Their fired egg rolls were a little soggy. Their spring rolls were a little drier than usual.

There was good service and pricing, but the food wasn’t amazing. It was good, but not the best I’ve had.

This place is hidden amongst the Asian places on Garfield Ave. Their phở and bun bo hue aren’t bad and they’re cheap. Bun bo hue is a vietnamese soup with a spicier broth than phở. I think that it’s a much more flavorful soup… but I’d recommend that you ask for them to serve it without the pork blood if that’s not your thing. I’ve had other dishes here and I was not very satisfied. Their charbroiled pork w/vermicelli noodles is sloppily presented. At many places, when you order the pork and vermicelli noodles dish, they usually chop the lettuce and aromatics so that you can easily mix the ingredients. Over here, they don’t chop anything for you… they just give you all of the components separately on 4 different plates/bowls so that you could chop/mix it yourself. I feel like that it’s similar to a restaurant handing you fresh ingredients so that you could make your own salad. This place is a decent option if you’re in the area and you’d like a cheap Vietnamese meal. But I wouldn’t recommend this to someone that’s unfamiliar with Vietnamese food or to people that are looking for the best phở in LA. I’m no expert on Vietnamese food, but my favorite place is Vietnam Restaurant in San Gabriel. Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa and Phở 79 are also very popular options in the SGV. Also…take note that this place is cash only. 3.5 stars for their phở and bun bo hue. 4 stars for price and value. 1.5 stars for their vermicelli noodles dish 2 stars for service(but who actually expects good service in MPK?)

Wow! This place is ubber cheap and really good! I got a bowl of phở and spring rolls for less than 10 $. The staff is really friendly and very prompt when serving. Low in MSG and sodium so you can actually taste the flavor.

Phở dac biet in xl bowl with the beef on the side is my default order at every phở place I go. Based on other reviews, I thought I would be getting greatness in a bowl. I got a regular serving of noodles, a fairly slim serving of beef, and watered down broth. The tray of goodies came with lemons, no limes. :-(I also ordered spring rolls and fried egg rolls. The spring rolls were tasty. The egg rolls were not. The fillings were greasy wet and bland tasting For the area, there are plenty of viet food offerings that are much better.

This is the worst phở experience I’ve ever had in my life. Broth tasted like salt water. Rare meat was cheap. Brisket was all fat. Tendon was tough. Their portions are stingy. The limes were shriveled. When you want phở usually it’s a really big craving. Phở Tony is just a setup for a huge disappointment.

Thanks Unilocal for another nice find. I had to park on the street since there was nothing open in the parking structure. My order the #1 Phở combo which was generous in size and quantity of meat and the broth tasted home cooked. Only con is that Phở Tony accepts cash only. Service is friendly and prompt here.

Started going here after seeing the reviews and now its my new favorite local phở restaurant. It is never very busy at lunch and the staff is always around waiting to help you. I love the chicken phở(Phở Ga). My co-worker always gets the beef phở and loves it as well. They have a full menu of Vietnamese food and drinks. Great location with street and lot parking available.

Came here with a friend because he had a hangover and I was hungry. I ordered the Combination Phở and he got the Meatball Phở and Spring Rolls. Food came out relatively quick. The bowls are smaller to what I’m used to. Like many people said, the broth here is really good. It is clearer than a lot of the phở places I’ve been to. But besides the broth, there is nothing really special about this place. The meats were okay, the tendons were kinda hard, the tripe was aite, and the spring rolls were average.

I was introduce to this restaurant through a friend and turns out, it is one of the better local phở restaurants in SGV, Phở Tony has good fresh phở broth and not oily, loaded with MSG. I got the large phở bowl, that can satisfy a guys hunger. Customer service was good, they were very attentive. The pricing is very reasonable, 10 bucks can go a long way. If you want a gambling fix, they also have lotto and scratchers, something you don’t see too often in restaurants, who knows, you might become a millionaire while eating phở! Overall, I had a good first impression and would come back if I’m in the area.

Hidden neighborhood Phở joint off Garfield. This place is big, possibly from what use to be 2 lots. Came here on a Saturday for lunch. The order — pork and shrimp noodle soup. Originally I was craving Phở, but I strongly recommend this delicious bowl of goodness. This is made in a very 626 fashion, understated aesthetically, but a kick in the face in flavor. The broth will make you believe in the unbelievable. The price is extremely reasonable. Less than $ 6 for a bowl that will fill you up. I got the regular size, finished it, and left satisfied and happy. Phở Tony, you’re on to something pretty awesome. I found my new neighborhood Phở place! Street and private lot parking. Cash only.

Phở Tony has the best phở ever! I am a phở lover and no other phở restuarant can come close to this place. The services is fast and the employee are super friendly. They always have a smile on their face. The price is super cheap for the amount of noodles and meat they give. I am never disappointed eating at this place.

The best part about this place is that the phở broth is so good. I hate adding in sauces and at this place I never have to. They aren’t cheap on the shrimp in their spring rolls. They also have delicious spicy bun bo hue! Yum! Good prices and delicious food, hence why I go often.

This phở place is probably a gem here in Monterey Park. I really wish more people took notice of this place for what it really is. The Phở dishes never disappoint and the staff is a lot more friendly then Phở 79. Just a simple hole in the wall place that really makes you feel that your actually in vietnam. TRYIT!

Overall experience was good. I ordered the Phở Tai Nam Gan Sach. Soup tasted great, not overly salty or oily. Iced Coffee was really good as well, not too sweet. The only knock is that the brisket was overly chewy and tough. Other than that, decent bowl of Phở for Monterey Park. My number one bowl will always be Phở Bac at Phở Filet(Rosemead)

BARELYAVERAGEPHO. UGLYSERVICE. CASHONLY. Came in here the other day for some lunch around 4:00 pm. The place was not packed. There was only another couple in the restaurant besides me and a few other workers. Ordered the #1 Super Combo Bowl for $ 5.50 and they took about 10 minutes to bring it out. 10 minutes in phở time is like waiting 45 minutes at an American restaurant. Are you kidding me? The phở wasn’t even that good. It was all sticking together, clumpy and really soft. There wasn’t a good amount of meat, either. And as for the soup, I felt like I was drinking MSG-water. I could feel my blood pressure rise afterwards from drinking all that sodium. A phở broth is not just about MSG. It’s about a lot of other things, like simmering the beef bones and other parts of the beef to get the rich flavor, and a blend of other spices. MSG should not be the only thing you taste! The waiters weren’t very attentive, either. Not once did one waiter come back to see if I needed anything and I usually get extra noodles. If I’m paying your rent, you better be checking up on me even if you’re working at a restaurant in San Gabriel Valley. I won’t ever come back here again and neither should you. Instead of Phở Tony, try Simply Phở You located on Vermont Ave or the Phở 2000 at Beverly Blvd and Western Ave. Both places offer perfectly tasting phở and they don’t charge for extra noodles! Who doesn’t love free noodles?

The Phở over here is Excellent! I would have to say it gives Phở Huynh a run for its money in the phở business. Correction: actually they are Equal. Noodles are always consistently fresh and firm and the broth is light and not too overpowering. I would this place 5 stars, but their other dishes on the menu don’t have much motivation behind them. I reiterate once again: «if phở is your business, then stick with it!» Don’t try to be the jack-of-all-trades.
