I was really impressed with this place! We went to dinner on a Sunday night with little to no expectations. We were seated after only a 2-minute wait and the service was excellent. One lady checked on us throughout the meal(maybe the owner or manager?) and our server was great. I got the 3-item bento: chicken tonkatsu, spicy tuna roll, crunch roll. My husband got the soba entrée and garlic albacore roll. Everything was awesome! — .5 star: this place is a little pricey. The 3-item bento is $ 18 which is pricier than some of my other fav Japanese places. But you do get a lot of food? Bottom line: I would come back!

Came here about 2 months ago for my brothers birthday. He wanted sushi so this was close by and something new for us to try with our friends. I thought this place was interesting. The sashimi is pretty fresh but kind of pricy for the amount you get. I think all sushi places are like that though. We also ordered a bunch of rolls. I thought the pink roll was so interesting and fun to eat! Haha it’s wrapped with this pink looking seaweed I think? I’m not even sure if it’s seaweed… I just thought it was something new and fun. The food here is pretty good and service was great. Everyone was nice and they always asked us if we needed anything which I liked a lot. I believe customer service is important and this place has a good service wise. For the 4 stars is because of parking. I don’t like this plaza where the restaurant is located at. I felt like the parking was small and crowded and there’s always LOTS of cars. Overall, it was a new fun experience so that was interesting to try a new place.

Came here for a late dinner to celebrate a friends birthday. The restaurant is very nice clean and had a very friendly staff. This place has a huge menu and a wide selection. They have your traditional sashimi, boats, rolls, appetizers, etc with noodles, udon, and a lot more. They’re also caught up with the hype and serve poke. The sushi our chef prepared had the perfect ratio of rice to sashimi. Unlike some places, this chef engaged with us in conversations. We also had some spicy tuna nachos on the house! Before I forget, they have a large selection of rolls. If you’re into rolls, this is your place. They also have happy hour for drinks, appetizers and more. I would definitely come back here for that sometime. Overall a well established sushi restaurant.

My recent experience here was below average. I spoke to a girl on the phone for a take order and she seemed a bit frustrated in the way I wanted my sushi. It wasn’t anything too crazy, just something simple. Then when I arrived to pick up my food, I asked her for some lemons for the calamari I ordered. And with a very annoyed tone of voice, she said to hold on a second. I then asked her for soy sauce and wasabi because in past times, it was not in my takeout bag. I told her that at the same time, so that way she could grab everything on one trip and I wouldn’t have to trouble her. Her response was again in an irritated tone. Telling me it was already in the bag. I even tipped her. I worked at The Boiling Crab for 3 years so I understand how a job like that could be frustrating when you’re dealing with rude or angry customers. But I was totally nice and respectful. And I could understand again if the dining room was packed with tables. There were only 2 tables sat in a restaurant that has around 20 tables. I don’t think it’s out of line to ask for lemons/soy sauce & my food prepared a certain way at a restaurant. Perhaps the management doesn’t train their employees well or this girl was just having a bad day. However this is something customers & the management should be aware of. Hopefully it will be better next time.

My first time coming back ever since it was renamed from Niko Niko. I’d have to say, it was disappointing. The free appetizers(from checking in on Facebook) aren’t even on the menu. The service is very slow, it was so hard to get two more plates. I order the two item bento box with Chicken Katsu and mixed sashimi, but they gave me Teriyaki Chicken instead. The teriyaki sauce was very watery and it had no flavor. The Wasabi is like a play doh texture and the broccoli is microwaved. Definitely not coming back!

I love this place. Been coming here regularly since the old Niko days and saw the renaming and still keep coming here. I think I like the wait staff best here even more than the food. They are very nice people and they do better for a young group better than a lot of places which have older experienced staff. The chefs greet you but they don’t do that obnoxious yelling like in other places. Really, what the heck are they saying anyway? Why you gotta be yelling? I’m like literally 5 feet away from you! RAWR! In any event, this place has so many different combinations of things that you can’ remember everything which I don’t, so I won’t bother naming the specifics… I will say that this place has really good fish and they are generous with their cuts of fish. I am not crazy with their spicy tuna because it’s not as spicy as other places though and it has less sriracha than most so there’s not as much taste. Other than that, the place is clean and it is definitely more comfortable than other sushi joints which are more cramped and noisy.

Great experience, always! I love their service! The waiter who attended to us the last time made for a great experience. He was helpful when explaining menu items and also drinks. I was curios about their sangria so he brought me a sample; of the BEST sangria I’ve had!

I really want to give this place a five because I had pretty low expectations and ended up leaving pretty impressed, but until I head back for another round, I’ll give it a temporary review. I love sushi in creative forms and varied choices. The menu was impressive and had enough to satisfy any pallet. Food wise, I was very happy. Tried the mango salad with salmon and tuna sashimi. Reasonable portion for the price and definitely tasty! Also tried a chicken dish and had the lime margarita. A little weak for a margarita but still good. I’d love to try more of their specialty rolls next time I visit. Ambiance is very nice and comfortable. Lots of space and tables. The sushi bar is very well presented and Chefs seemed super nice. We did, however, wait a while to be seated and service was a bit slow. Luckily staff pitches in to help each other out and at least we were having a good time while waiting on our check. With time and more training, hopefully the prompt customer service will improve, especially when they’re not so busy. Can’t wait to try it again, and if impressed once more, I’ll definitely give this place a 5 star!

Wow! This restaurant is so delicious with some great service. The food is always on point and the workers there treat you as one of their own and constantly check up on you. 10⁄10 recommend this delightful place. :)

Happy Hour menu was more than worth it, especially while on a budget. I spent a total of $ 17.33 on two rolls and a Peach Paradise, with a facebook check in I also received a free appetizer! The food was delicious although the spicy tuna could be a little spicer I was satisfied overall with my meal and customer service.

Happy hour is wonderful! I had not been to the establishment since October due to my schedule. However several positive changes has taken place since my last visit. Formerly Niko Niko, the owners decided to withdraw from the franchise and renamed it MPKSUSHIANDGRILL. So very happy they did this because the food was becoming mediocre, lacked any luster. As MPK, they have amped up the menu and recipient, a huge positive difference in flavor and value. Owners were not able to change the recipes due to the franchise agreement. Updated menu looked wonderful and if their Happy a Hour selections are as delicious as their regular menu– I’m in trouble. Highly recommend MPK to everyone.

Great food as stated in the recent reviews. Atmosphere is great. Have eaten there a few times before it became MPK. My one complain is even though it says wait to be seated, they take forever to acknowledge you. Servers would pass by and look at me without asking any thing. Waited 10 minutes before i was greeted. Mind you they were not even busy at all. Saw about 4 people at the bar and 3 tables with people. And the only reason they finally came to ask me if i was helped was beacuse i called while inside the restaurant. Service was better when it was Niko Niko and more friendlier. Im still gonna keep going cuz of the food but definitely need to train or at least address the staff to promptly acknowledge the customers.

By far the most well run restaurant i have been to in my life. Food is Epic and the owner Rowann took the time to approach each table to check in with us. Outstanding customer service is priceless and appreciated by folks like me. Did I mentions that the food was BAHM?! Our servers Jon and Kai were some solid dudes, great service.

This place was DELISH!!! Hidden gem! The sushi was really good and service was really good as well. We had a young male server, my fiancé LOVES micheladas, but they usually don’t make them at sushi spots. The server went above and beyond to make one for my fiancé. The owner even came out to check on us and make sure everything was okay. Their was one girl, Asian, young, sorry I can’t remember names very well, but she had a smirky kind of attitude to her, that was the only thing that I wasn’t okay with because she talked to our server as if he was some random on the street(a little too rude for me). Driving from Orange County isn’t too close, but if I was ever in the area I would definitely come back! Delish delish delish :)

My wife and I were craving for California rolls and edamame and decided to come to MPK Sushi&Grill. This our first time coming to MPK Sushi&Grill it use to be called Niko Niko it’s a good name change. When we arrive at the restaurant we notice the daily menu Wednesday is Happy Hour all day, we came on a good day that’s exciting what deals they have. We got seated right away and then the waitress hand us the menu and plus the Happy Hour menu. The price are reasonable including the drinks. We order the garlic edamame and eight piece California rolls and spicy tuna tempura and a 16oz Sapporo beer. The waitress brought us the garlic edamame they were so good we enjoy it very with a great flavor. Then they brought the spicy tuna tempura and the California rolls plus the beer. The spicy tuna tempura looks very look we a piece each and the flavors were incredible it so good lots of flavors and crunchy of the tempura that bring the flavors together. The California rolls is a classic it been in sushi bars for years, we these rolls very we often get them. The Sapporo beer was nice and cold on Happy Hour a 16oz beer is $ 2.50 that a bargain deal on Happy Hour on Wednesday all day. Finally we order the vanilla bean ice cream tempura this dessert was so good very light and delicious. We enjoy the food and the service at MPK Sushi&Grill. We will be back on Wednesday to something different on Happy Hour all day.

I was quite surprised as to how good the food was. My friend brought me here on a Friday 3pm. HAPPYHOUR! I believe happy hour was from 3 – 5. Pretty good prices. Most of the happy hour prices were $ 1 or $ 2 cheaper than regular prices. I got the calamari which was part of the happy hour price. It was pretty good with little batter and large cut circular pieces of squid. Yums. I definitely recommend this side dish. My friend also ordered the jalapeño bomb. I thought it would be spicy, but it wasnt. Tasted like a baked Philadelphia roll because it was so creamy. I ordered the 2 item bento box. It was definitely worth the $ 15. It came with your choice of 2 main items. I got the sashimi mix and the spicy tuna roll. 6 pieces of spicy tuna and 6 pieces of sashimi(3 salmon and 3 tuna). Great deal! The sashimi slices were nice and fat. Very fresh. It’s pricy but they definitely don’t skimp on the portions. I got the salad and the steamed veggie for the 2 sides. Also comes with a miso soup. My friend’s spicy tuna salad was a big portion size for only $ 9. Yay! Will probably come back since it’s so close to my house. I wonder why I’ve never visited this place before… but now in know it’s there… my belly is gonna feel the love I have for sushi.

Came in with a friend on a rainy day cause we had a hankering for some sushi. We got seated right away, as they were slow. got some water as seated and ordered a few things. They did take a while to get our drinks but it doesn’t matter. The food ended up coming out and it was nicely presented. I couldn’t wait to dive in and eat! The sushi was great, only reason for 3 stars is because of the service. We had to ask for water and the waited walked around but didn’t come to asl how we were doing. They came around a few times in the beginning but after that we had to ask for water and walk our own check up to pay. I paid with a large bill but it tool the cashier abut 10mins. to get my change from the back… uhm? OK. Might be back again!

They recently changed their name to MPK& revamped their menu. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re craving some good sushi. Service was excellent, we came on a week night for dinner. Some of my favorites were… Salmon Mango Mixed Tempura(sooo good) Chicken Yaki Udon-Stir Fried Udon noddles Baked Lobster Roll(yummy) Cherry Blossom: Salmon & avocado with yellowfin tuna They also have an awesome lunch menu, I’m very excited for this new change. Looking forward to coming for lunch. xo Naomi
