I am rating this for Dr. Chan.
Chances are, you’re going to have to wait for a bit because it gets crowded. A lot of people come here because of their reasonable prices (for those whose insurance doesn’t cover this, like mine). Once you’re in, you’re seated in a room — and when it is your turn to get your eye exam by Dr. Chan, it’ll take no more than 5 minutes. He is professional, caring, and a nice person to talk to. Dr. Chan shows that he really cares about the patients, and not doing it for the $$. He told me that I could use my old glasses so that I don’t have to pay for another frame. (Too bad I lost mine.)
NOW FOR THE RECEPTIONISTS (which is not part of my rating)
First of all, there’s a reason why the woman everyone thinks is grumpy is still working there. That’s his spouse.
As for the others, I don’t know if they just seem rude or they really are but I know that different people may have different perceptions. To me it’s just a Chinese thing… LOL if you’re nice to them they’ll help you out
Btw I got Raybans with transitions that costs a little over $ 300. Good deal considering they’re transitions

The only reason I return to this place again this year is because of Dr. Chan who is so professional and does a very good job as an optometrist. And just like another reviewer, if it wasn’t for Dr. Chan, this business deserves a negative, below zero star rating due to its horrible receptionists, the worst of them all that old lady that always looks like she’s pissed off at you even though you have done absolutely nothing. I can’t believe this horrible lady with the attitude has been keeping this job year after year even though she should’ve been fired decades ago. Every year I return for my appointment, I have to subdue my poor self to this lady’s terrible treatment on top of a one hour wait time even though I show up early for a scheduled appointment. Looks like those women just squeeze in all patients within the same time window. Nothing is keeping me from looking elsewhere. Good bye Dr. Chan until you decide to clean up the incompetent bunch of assistants at your front desk.

Worst experience with receptionists. They are the absolute most incompetent people put on earth. I don’t even know why I come here

I have been coming here for over a decade and if I could rate based on Dr. Chan alone i would give him 5 stars. He is well mannered, efficient. and will get you in and out without a problem. His prescriptions are on point and my new glasses always help me see clearly
But i won’t be giving them 5 stars. They would receive zero if it wasn’t for Dr. Chan. The employees working the front desk are so rude and have so much attitude I would much rather deal with a machine than the older woman working there. Every time i ask her to do anything, regardless how small the task, I am met with such a passive aggressive attitude it makes me want to leave. As if I am asking her to jump over the moon or something. Just help me adjust my frames and keep your terrible attitude to yourself. It is a wonder to me how she is still employed here and it only seems to get worse every year.
They also push their selection of frame on you as if they were drugs. I never get a chance to really pick something I like because they throw 4 or 5 frames at me at once and ask me to pick one as fast as i can.
I come here for check ups and i have stated providing my own frames because I do not enjoy their selection. I may start looking for a new optometrist. Despite the fact Dr. Chan does outstanding work, his employees are rude and unhelpful. If I were him I would get rid of them before he loses anymore business.

If only I can give no stars… this place customer service is horrible. The older lady in the front is just utterly rude and the other young lady is as well too. I don’t understand why they are working there. Seems like they don’t like their job. They really should start turning things around.

Dr. CK is a great doctor that’s been doing this for a ton of years. He’s patient and it always seems like really wants to know how you’re doing. I’ve been coming for about 20 years and he’s been great every single visit.

I’m so glad I switched optometrists. Every time I come here, there is always a 1+ hour wait time despite having an appointment. His English isn’t that great, so he always spews out a ton of information to me in Chinese and half the words I can’t understand because they’re all complicated medical terms I never use. The glasses selection covered by insurance is quite tiny. If you want nicer glasses, you’ll have to shell out a lot more. The doctor is pretty good though but the staff is pretty rude. I would avoid this place.

Lots of people I know come here because of referral. Mostly all Chinese people come here and it’s definitely a Chinese optometrist style place. The Dr. Is only in a few days at this location and a few days at the other in Rowland or hacienda. He has a lot of equipment and a place to pick out glasses. He takes most insurance items as well as non insurance cash. I think he’s pretty good. He’s a bit of a grumpy Teddy bear style guy but he will answer your questions and he’s been doing this for many many years and his office is always full. You need to make appointments at least a week in advance. If you are assertive the staff will help you in whatever you need. And use despite the «demeanor» they are really nice people and willing to help you out. :)

Dr. Chan is pretty good but it’s the service from the staff I don’t like. They don’t care about what is best for the patients as long as they get the money from the patient.
They had given my brother a set of glasses which has a wannabe hello kitty logo on the side of the metal part which goes behind the ear not the frame. The old lady should have at least told him that there’s a kitty logo or that it’s more for a girl. I guess they really don’t care that if he were to wear it… he might be beaten up by little kids in elementary school.
We are never going to go back there until they fire their current staff and hire more professional ones who enjoys their job that can really help the patient out to pick out the perfect pair of glasses.
