Love this truck, nothing special about it. Simple, great portions, and outstanding service. Makes me want to go back and take morning courses at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. I miss this spot! my favorite was always the combination breakfast burrito. eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, ham, and salsa! bombombombombomb!

Almost got killed by the taco truck. I was driving on the 405 freeway when the truck pushed me in center divider.

Update: Rapidly sliding downhill. Everything I’ve gotten here in the past two weeks has been drenched in grease, to the point of complete sloppiness. I’m not sure what happened, but I don’t know if I can keep coming here. Sad but true.

The truck stopped by my workplace on Colorado Blvd. in Santa Monica, and I thought I’d give it a shot. Tried the Gringowood Bowl thinking that it was going to be delicious and healthy. WORSTMISTAKEEVER. The Gringowood Bowl ranks by far among the nastiest Mexican food I’ve tried in my life. Just a ginormous GLOB of oily cheese, sour cream, and guacamole with absolutely no redeeming factor whatsoever. It wasn’t even tasty, just gross. Not returning again.

The tacos were awful, super salty!!! They also had no guacamole nor did they offer me a receipt for my purchase so when i asked for it they said they did not have it… not cool nor professional. I was hopeful for this new truck… but i can definitely make way better tacos in my kitchen… nothing special at all… Get it together Gringos Tacos!

Super super super salty beans in my burrito. This little salt lick earned 1 star for being inedible. Two stars would have been gained for taking it back but alas, one of those two stars were lost for trying to justify why it should be so salty. I’m not familiar with the Crane Asada defense for your beans but that is not going to fly with this girl. Oh and they were out of the first 4 things we tried to order. After waiting 40 minutes in a line of 5 people that was not moving, and over 15 mins for our food, we had to walk back to the office. Luckily I tried mine on the way back. My friend however was not so lucky. She has been sitting at her desk trying to eat around the beans in a bean and cheese burrito since lunch. Impressive part is that she is being fairly successful. A contestant for next years america’s got talent? Thank god I took it back because its replacement from two trucks down was to die for. This salt mine helped me find Vchaos.(review to follow)

This is one of the best ‘bang-for-buck’ trucks around. I think their torta and burritos are as good as one can find on the Westside. I’ve enjoyed every combo I’ve tried from their truck. Try the torta, it’s flavorful, a bit messy, and perfect for lunch

Edible Spanglish! Fries in a burrito?! Hell, why not! Trendy-gourmet-fusion food truck in all it’s glory here. However, for the most part, it’s mexican food. Overall I liked it. The service was great. Food presentation is good. Nicely themed. I’d go again~

Good flavor, but pretty unhealthy given that everything has refried beans, sour cream, and shredded iceberg lettuce.

Love Gringos Tacos Truck! I compare all Mexican food to my mom’s because she is my personal favorite. But my mom never made tacos. But when I first saw Gringo’s tacos, with the radish on the side, it reminded me of the Mexican restaurants that my dad’s friends owned. And the taco tasted even better. Great food. Quick service(I was early and the second person there). And great price. I like them so much, that I follow them on Twitter. Please come to Century City sometime guys.

Thought I was looking at the taco menu — — and they had bean and cheese tacos — — perfect for my 5 year old(who likes to eat at the food trucks, but doesn’t actually like most of the food — lol). I waited my turn, ordered, and the guy at the window told me that the«bean and cheese» was a burrito(duh!), not tacos… And then I looked down at my little one and before I could even say anything to her, he yelled out — I can MAKE bean and cheese tacos for you if that’s what you want. … ah, the customer service… at a food truck… She ended up deciding that she wanted a burrito anyways, but so glad that these guys were willing(at a moment’s notice, and without any attitude) to change their menu to suit my little one’s finicky tastes… And — the«grilled» bean and cheese burrito was HUGE(all this for $ 4!!!) and wasn’t smothered with gross cheddar cheese — — nice job Gringos! Thanks again!(:

Best beef tacos I’ve had since I can remember. Really, really delicious. Charbroiled just right, marinated perfectly, and even the«medium» ones are HOT, order mild if you can’t take the heat. Can’t wait till they’re back in the East Valley.

The truck is parked outside my work building(on Colorado and 20th) and every now and then I get two soft tacos from them(soft taco are $ 2 each). Once, I gave the wrong amount when I was paying and the guy was very honest and gave it back to me. Great service, honest and tasty foo here.

Have you ever had one of those days where you literally just say, «Even if it takes a day or so off of my life, I want to eat whatever the F I want…» If so, welcome to my almost daily life. But also, this is when I go to this truck. Putting french fries in their burritos may seem crass but it is oh-so good. Highly recommend the Del Mar burrito with carnitas and all it’s glory. Its like carnitas fries, but not as messy.

I have a soft spot for tacos so I may be a bit biased, but I love this truck! You have to go with the carne asada soft shell tacos, yumyumyum! Stay away from the chicken tacos tho, they’re lacking in flavor. I have to go back and try the Del Mar Burrito next…

They try to disguise the San Diego-specialty California burrito as a «Del Mar Burrito», and Carne asade fries as «Gringo Fries». Do not be fooled. They are the closest thing to the real deal that I’ve had in Los Angeles. My college days in San Diego were fueled by late night runs to my all-time favorite, Super Sergio’s, as well as Roberto’s, El Cotixan, and Lolita’s.(People can argue all day about their favorite spots, but that’s not why we are here.) I wish they had pollo asada fries, and that their salsa was better, but I won’t deny the fact that I buy from these guys twice a week(when they park near my office), because I miss San Diego Mexican food so badly.

Think of the Gringo Taco Truck is sort of a compromise. Some folks prefer the old school«roach coach» taco trucks, while others prefer the so-called«gourmet» trucks. Gringos can probably please both camps, although I doubt that they will truly thrill either of them. I caught up with them at a lunch in Santa Monica and ordered what they call the Jose Burro. I chose the ground beef, and was given a large tortilla filled with that bef, as well as shredded cheddar, beans, rice and pico de gallo sauce. So far so good, but the so-called hot sauce was about equivalent to the mild at Del Taco. Other than that is was a pretty good burrito for $ 5.50 Let me tell them gringo to gringo, that they really need to spice things up a bit. Oh and one more thing. You need to roll the burritos a little more tightly. Mine was falling apart after the second bite, and after about halfway through it, I surrendered and let it drop into my paper bowl. It was messy, but still good though. In fact, I almost ordered something they call the Gringowood Bowl. Next time, I think I will. Gourmet Food Truck #208 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in «So Cal»

Gringos tacos is one taco truck that sort of walks that line of fusion and good ol’ fashion roach coach. When I mean fusion, I’m not so much talking about the food as I am about the concept of the truck. It’s got the nice wrap around of a modern day fusion truck but it serves up both old school mexican truck tacos as well as a variety of other white washed versions. In short, this is the one stop shop for when you’re hanging out with your gentrified friends who simply won’t eat a street taco, but will gladly put a del taco crispy meat fold in their mouth. Yes, this truck walks that line. For those of you who don’t want to touch a street taco, they have your hardshell options for the whitest of the white. No worries, no one will judge you. Besides, the truck is named after you. Then for those who do like street tacos, they got you covered. While they’re not as cheap as your average street vendor taco, they do seem worth the«fusion truck» price. Add in that they are tasty. So yeah. I can dig it. They also venture into the world of burritos, nachos and burgers. As well as other white washed Mexican faire like taco salads and various bowls that just scream out to the rubios and other baja fish taco places you find in any mall food court. Again, this is pretty much a one stop shop for those in groups who have a wide arrange of thoughts on what Mexican food in America really is. Well worth trying out to see if you’re a fan. Or if you have a white person with you and you want to get your street tacos on.
