The ultimate goal of «D.E.S.I.» is for the consumer to foster autonomy by providing outcomes for their successful integration into the community.

History

Established in 2009.

D.E.S.I. was created by Elizabeth Jinzo to help people with developmental disabilities lead independent lives. After dedicating the prior 19 years to raising her daughter with a developmental disability, working as a service coordinator, and even working as a former teacher for LAUSD; Elizabeth knew she wanted to do more.

Business Owner

Elizabeth is the founder of Designated Exceptional Services for Independence. Her philosophy of providing services to people with disabilities stems from firsthand knowledge of personal and professional experience. She has worked as a service coordinator, is a former teacher for LAUSD and a parent of a loved one with a developmental disability. She understands the many challenges one faces when integrating your loved one into the community. Her passion and belief is that Integration is not a privilege but your right and anyone who so desires can be a part of their community.
