Let me start this off as, Hi my name is Gary and I am a grateful, recovering alcoholic. I know that might sound ridiculous to some, but if you may be one of us, you’ll get it. Short and simple. I walked into Los Amigos Group the day out of a 90-day rehabilitation center, where they sent me off with an «Alcoholics Anonymous» book, a «12 Steps &12 Traditions» book and not a whole lot of recovery. I honestly went Los Amigos out of convenience as I no longer had a car or a drivers license and it was close to my mother’s house, as I no longer had a place to live than her house. I walked in and sat in the back as a meeting had already started. After it was over I found many people introducing themselves to me and welcoming me. I was pretty suspicious of everyone though(that was on me), but I walked out with numbers that I really didn’t have to ask for and felt very welcome. This fellowship has become my «Home Group» and helped me find my sponsor, sobriety and my recovery. That was over 2−½ years ago and I still attend meetings there 5-days a week as well as Big Book studies. As the previous woman stated in the last review, everyone there is welcome and you will be truly welcomed too. If you think you have a problem with alcohol or other mind-altering substances, the Los Amigos Group can offer you help and support if you want it. Again, all are welcome, If you would like to learn something about the disease to better understand yourself, a loved one or for self– knowledge, please stop by and see what it’s all about. Expect a hug and lots of laughter, we’re like that there. BTW, I do not work there, and was not asked to write this review. I just happen to be another alcoholic looking for sobriety and recovery and found it there.

Let’s start off: I AMNOTANALCOHOLIC and I’m grateful. I am reviewing this place for those that are scared to seek help. I did join them in their book studies to see what all this is about. To my surprise, these people are like you & me except for the additional alcohol addiction & sobriety dates. It was awkward in the beginning because I was the only Asian one in there. But it did not take long till people shared their story and made you feel welcome. I was fortunate enough to get to talk 1-on-1 with some veterans. They were not judgmental on my ethnicity and showed me that everyone is human. «Do not come to these meetings trying to look for differences. Come here to look for the similarities and together we will find a solution.» — These words may sound weird but it made perfect sense. People come to AA meetings to find the difference in the stories to prove that they don’t have an alcohol problem, but if you see the similarities, there are people to help you. These meetings may seem religious and quote from the bible a lot but they are for everyone. If you are willing to listen then come by & join the fight again alcohol addiction!(: Oh, they also have meetings for drug abuse, etc. «Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.» — Each meeting lasts for 1.5 hours —
