Maxco Auto Body and Paint Shop

My husband took his classic car to Maxco for a full paint job.
After shopping around, We felt their price was fair and he was recommended
by another businessman. This all started in Aug. It took over 3 weeks to get the car back and my husband had to take it back a couple other times to get some touch ups. Only to find out after looking more carefully that the hood needed to be repainted (fish eyes) and the door jams were not done correctly. One time while in the shop for touch ups, my husband stopped by to see how things were coming, only to find out they had been leaving our classic car out side, no cover, no protection. 3 months later, we are still waiting to get the car back. They said we needed to have an appointment, so we waited to get a date, they have had the car for nearly 3 weeks now, and we are still waiting.
We have been lied too by both Eddies. We have been more than patient giving them plenty
of time. How can they stay in business doing business like this?

This is the worst place to take your car they gave me a price to paint my elcamino sounded good so i said ok they also asked for a deposit i said ok gave them a deposit came back two weeks they had not even touched my car got my deposit and my car back… go to a reputable paint shop these guys are a joke untrustworthy they also dont have a state of the art paint drying booth your car will dry with fish eye

My husband and I took our 2005 Corolla in to Maxco to be painted; the car needed no bodywork it just needed to be sanded, primered and repainted as the clear coat had delaminated and was coming off the car.
Maxco gave us the car back the first time with dimples in the paint (also called fisheyes) and told us they would go away as the paint cured. My husband did some research and talked to other body shops and found out that they would not go away, that they are caused by issues with the equipment.
We took the car back and requested that they repaint it again because of the problems. They told us that they needed to contact Dupont as it was bad paint, they did not take responsibility for the problems. We were told to leave the car so they could repaint it, we left the car and it took them well over a week to get it back to us. It got put on the «back burner» because they already had our money and they were pushing out other vehicles that they hadn’t been paid for yet. We disputed the credit card charges and amazingly enough the car was painted for the second time and returned to us within a few days of the dispute being filed. We picked up the car, the paint job looked okay, although they had broken the foot rest inside the car. We also had to purchase the clips that hold the body kit on the car and the gaskets that go under the spoiler to keep it from wobbling because they did not replace them when they put the parts back on the car.
Several days later, we noticed that the paint was once again dimpling (developing fisheyes). Again we got in touch with them and we were told they would contact Dupont. They requested we leave the car and we refused, my husband told them to contact us when they knew Dupont would be there and he would bring it in. That was a few months ago. We have not heard from Maxco to this date.
We were lied to by both Eddies (the younger and the older) and they never followed through on anything they said they would. My husband and I were told repeatedly that they «are only human» and to give them a chance to fix it. No! Only human was having problems the first time, it happens, I get that. We gave them the chance to fix their mistakes and they did not make the effort nor did they take any responsibility for the problems. Their lack of customer service is appalling.
At this point we will not be taking the car back to Maxco, we have disputed the credit card charge and it was resolved in our favor because we were able to provide documentation showing that we tried to work with them, we allowed them more than one chance to take care of the problems created by their shop and they did not follow through.

I took my Lexus for a damaged, bumper, grill and hood alignment after a minor front end accident. Joe got me an estimate and I dropped off my car. The repairs were done in a week and the results were great! The original color is a slight cream color an the matching was great!

Great customer service and reasonable price. Highly recommended.
