I live a very short walk from this cupcake-​ry and I do my best not to even walk by this place because I’m afraid of being tempted by their delicious cupcakes. Numerous flavors to choose from. The girls behind the counter were always really helpful when I was trying to decide what flavors to get for friends birthdays as these are often a go-​to mini bday gift. Another thing which I have yet to try because I always get persuaded by the big cupcakes are the mini’s. Little bite sized cakes in some of their more classic flavors including the blue velvet (?).
I just wish the store hours were open a little bit later, even if it was just for weekends. Many times when friends have come over for dinner they would ask me about going here for dessert, but it would already be closed by the time we finished.

I love the unique variety of cupcakes they have and they always have more in the back. They are perfect sized, not too big not too small. My only qualm is that they are a bit too cold/​stiff and don’t have that fresh «just baked» taste.

Second time I’ve been here and it still doesn’t disappoint. The two girls behind the counter were cleaning out the cases when we came in but were still very sweet and courteous. They offered to answer any questions we had about the cup cakes. naturally I picked my favorite, red velvet. It was outstanding! Fresh and moist cake with a traditional red velvet icing. Also got a salted caramel and a cookies and cream. Those were delicious too. I’m glad I refused dessert after dinner to make room for this.

I ordered the blue velvet holiday cake last minute and was shocked that they were able to accommodate me. The cake was moist and not overly sweet, just perfect for what I wanted. The only thing that I wish they were able to do was to engrave the cake with a special message but they did not have any frosting or tools to do this in the store as they bake everything offsite.

Bought the red velvet cake for my daughter’s birthday. It was wonderful. Very moist — perfect amount of frosting. I would recommend this cake and this bakery. I will be back!

This is one of my go-​to places to take people from out of town. What can go wrong with a good, unique cupcake? My favorite is the cookie dough cupcake with the chunks of cookie dough on top. For some reason I also love banana desserts so the Curious George was another obvious choice for me. Never been disappointed with the red velvet either!

Been coming here for a while now and have never been disappointed. I actually got to sit down and speak to some of the associates and learned a lot about this store. I was a little skeptical when the ladies told me the cupcakes came out of a freezer but they explained to me that it is the best and only way to keep them the freshest when they arrive from the bakery in Nanuet, NY. I’ve personally never ordered a custom cake but I absolutely would if the occasion was right. The front end workers were very helpful and very nice. Would definitely recommend. If you’ve never had a cupcake/​cake from here and you’re skeptical like I used to be come down on a Tuesday when the cupcakes are 2 bucks. Can’t go wrong. Hope this helped!

Took a ride to do something fun, and found this place on line. They had a coupon for buy 5, get 1 free on Halloween cupcakes. First of all, we ate cupcakes inside. I had the turtle one. Very sweet, but decent. My son had cookie dough, and put half in the trash. My friends enjoyed what they ordered, but nothing to write home about. We presented the coupon to order 6 more each, to bring home. The girl behind the counter said she couldn’t take the coupon because they didn’t HAVE Halloween cupcakes. So, I asked if it could be applied to the REGULAR cupcakes. She said no. I told her that was ridiculous. She was unable to make the executive decision to honor the coupon, so she called her boss. Answer: no.
Bad business. Sorry. You put a coupon on your website that is active, but don’t have the goods. You need to honor it. It’s a damn cupcake, not a $ 50 coupon. At this point I was so turned off. Place is small, seating sucks, and pretty average cupcakes. Also, I did buy three cupcakes to go home, because I needed them for today for a little birthday thing in my office. As I was paying, some guy was picking up a 25^th wedding anniversary cake. It was in a brown box, that looked like it came from Amazon. When the box was opened to show the customer, it was two tiers and a gold 25 at the top. The 25 was cracked. A small chunk missing. Poor guy took it, because he had no choice. How do you sell an expensive cake like this? Fix the cake before you give it a customer! Bad experience all around. Don’t waste your time. PS, cupcakes come out of a freezer.

Got a red velvet. It had a good 2:1 cupcake to icing ratio and the icing and cupcake tasted good. But, it seemed like it was more than a day old– icing had a shell and cupcake was dry.
$ 3 for a normal cupcake seems pretty reasonable if it were fresh. Would come back on $ 2 Tuesday and ask for the freshest cupcake.

This has great cupcakes. Friendly people and there’s seating. Highly recommended

C by C has the best cupcake in downtown Montclair. I’m not sure where the other reviewer’s have had their cupcake, but I doubt it’s been here. The cupcakes are moist, tasty, not overly sweet with minimal icing. This is one cupcake you won’t need a microwave to soften. There are lots of flavors to choose from but my favs are key lime, red velvet, lemon and coconut.
They also made the cake & cupcakes for my baby shower and all was delish and my guests loved them. Come here, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

All around meh. Nothing special honestly. I can make a better more homemade tasting cupcake in the comfort of my own home.
They sounded really great when the girl was describing them but after trying the Boston Crème cupcake I was absolutely unimpressed. The frosting tasted like the canned grocery store variety and the cake lacked any real flavor — wouldn’t be surprised if it also came from a box.
My hubby got the Curious George one and it was definitely more edible than mine. At least the peanut butter filling masked the lackluster taste of the actual cake.
Also, their coffee was terrible. Someone needs to teach those ladies how to brew iced coffee without making it taste so watered down.
We only stopped in here while we waited for our table across the street at Raymond’s but I can assure you we will not be going back.
They were nice enough to provide a cup of hot water for us to warm up our newborns milk — 5 stars for that!

Stop by as I was waiting for my dinner reservations time. Their display of the cupcakes was wonderful. I had two mini cupcakes: red velvet and oreo chocolate. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

We had the blue velvet, strawberry cheese cake and brownie cupcake they all tasted good but nothing amazing.

I felt like the cupcakes were delicious that i tried i would return again if i was in the area to try other flavors staff was friendly and patience while I tried to decide what flavors to try cupcakes were a little sweet but aren’t they supposed to be eat with a glass of milk

Went again for the first time since the last review and I’m a bit surprised that the case is still grubby. That scared me and I decided to go across the street to the little French patisserie to get my treat.
Clean your case! If that’s what you present to your customers, what does the back look like?

I give it three stars. I had the Napoleon cupcake and though it had some good flavor, the cupcake was too dry and stiff. They keep em cold… not a fan. I like cupcakes that are room temp or even warm is fine, but def not super cold. Makes it taste less fresh. Hmm well maybe they don’t bake them in store perhaps??? Coffee was decent. I’ve had better over all cupcakes and coffee.

I am a closet cupcake fanatic. I will at random, and in the most succinct manner, verbally express my burning desire for cupcakes… however 90% of the time I will not actually take action to fulfill said burning desire. This depressing cycle is fueled by my fear of getting fat. Eating predominately clean on a consistent basis and training 5x a week sustains said fear. The struggle is real.
When I do allow myself a day where I can indulge in one, two, or several cupcakes, this bakery never disappoints. My absolute favorite cupcake to date is the chocolate cheese which is a very simple chocolate cake and cream cheese frosting with chocolate chips. I’m also fond of the oreo and mint andes chocolate cupcakes. My least favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough. But it isn’t their fault that I solely believe that chocolate chip cookie dough should only be an ice cream flavor.
The staff is fairly friendly and the selection of cupcakes is pretty vast. I really want to try their other candy flavored cupcakes next. And I’ve BEEN wanting to try their blue velvet cupcake for over a year now but it’s always sold out or not available. Thanks Oprah. I blame you.

Very nice place with both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Loved their baby cupcakes, perfect size for you to try as many cupcakes as you want without putting pressure on your wallet or stomach.
I had the baby blue velvet cupcake and other rainbow like baby cupcakes. They tasted great, especially the baby blue velvet, really yummy.
I got stuffed from my brunch across street, otherwise would definitely try more of those lovely cupcakes.
