The Fox And The Hair Salon

I move to the Baldwin Park area, and didn’t know anyone here to do my hair. I went on line and found the Fox and the Hair. The name of the store fascinated me, and I read many excellent reviews. I made an appointment and Melody did my cut. It was just want I wanted and more. She was very gentle, kind and was sensative to my being hard of hearing. When I took out my hearing aids for her to do my hair, she made sure I could hear her. That alone was great.
When I left the shop, completely thrilled, and feeling 10 years younger… I stopped at Trader Joe’s. A lady in the parking lot stopped me to compliment my hair. I have her Melody’s number and told her it was The Fox and the Hair. She made an appointment the next day, and called to tell me was happy with her cut too.
I will be recommending your cute salon, and Melody for her excellent work.

I read the reviews for this salon & decided to call and make an appointment for next day with Melody. On the day, walked in & within minutes, Melody greeted my daughter and I. She did a great job on both myself & my daughter! Melody is very friendly, listens to what you would like as far as cut & delivers! Great job Melody!

I just got my first Brazilian Blowout from stylist Melody. My hair have never look this good before. Every one is so upbeat .

needed a quick fix so i took a break from my home salon since i live far from it now. saw the reviews and thought i’d give this place a shot.
called in, lady who answered seemed busy and rushed through my call so she handed it over to melody who took my appointment. melody was awesome and super friendly.
i guess i’m used to the up-​front hospitality at my home salon… i walked in, got looks from two of the staff who were both busy, but no «hello, how are you?» or a «hi, welcome to fox and the hair». maybe this is trivial to other people, but first impressions are huge for me. melody was busy in the back, so that was understandable. but for the people in the front– it’s my first time in your salon EVER. whether i come back or not can be determined in the first 10 seconds of me walking in.
anyway. cut was great. melody was very particular and careful. cut my hair to the exact length i wanted, not too short. color was great– i wanted a subtle ombré, and it turned out great– looked like the sun did it. awesome conversations, she is a sweet and reliable worker :)
i’m used to the camaraderie at my home salon– everyone saying hello, helping each other out, sharing results, laughs, taking part in conversation. making the entire salon environment fun and encouraging. at the fox and the hair, i felt none of this… just got looks from other staff passing by, no words… o_​o
anyway. i’d call melody personally if i want someone pretty reliable and a great person to talk to (though a tad pricey). i wouldn’t visit the salon again.

I wanted to follow Jenna here from Big Tease. She did my hair and make up for both my graduation and prom! Also, she did my normal everyday hair cuts! She is amazing! She always listens to what you want, and even if your not sure she can always find something that you will absolutely love! She is the sweetest and I loved getting my hair cut from her. But I have been trying to get ahold of her if anyone has her number let me know! I miss her cutting my hair and I have been trying to contact her. I am also going to try and get her to do my Mother’s wedding! Yes… She is that good!

Recently got a great hair cut from Emily at the Fox and Hair! She’s super sweet, very chatty and my hair looked fabulous. $ 45 wash, cut and blow dry!

Daniel is the man, best barber I have been too. Best part about the service is the shave he offers at the end, the service is unbelievable and very professional. Thanks Daniel for a great cut everytime

This review is for Melody Chiron at F&H. I scheduled an appointment for cut & perm at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. She okayed it and did my hair for 3 ½ hours. She was incredibly precise and was VERY VERY meticulous with the way she handled my hair. I am usually a stickler about my hair but I felt extremely satisfied leaving the salon!

First of all, how cute & clever is the name of this salon?!
I’m a first timer & called to make an appointment and they were able to get me in that same evening with a hair dresser named Melody.
Melody was ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. She washed my hair, asked me what I wanted, patiently looked at the pictures I brought in for examples, and got to cutting. I was very nervous to cut my hair because I was going for something that would change my look quite a bit. The only reason I held back a star was because I didn’t feel like I was completely «talked through» the cutting process. I would have liked a little more explaining as she was chopping off my hair, mostly so I could mentally prepare myself for what was happening. Another thing I want to mention is that I didn’t feel like Melody was in a rush. She definitely took her time which made me more relaxed.
The actual salon is located in the heart of Old Town Monrovia and I personally liked its small & intimate atmosphere.
The price was also reasonable; $ 45 with wash, cut, & style. Over-​all, I like my new look & Melody did a great job listening to what I wanted and making it happen. I plan on being a returning client.

Walked in on a Friday afternoon. They seemed to be busy, asked if they accepted walk ins and Sylvia came up to me and said that she had an appointment next but would be able to fit me in before they arrived. I let her know about the monstrosity of a hair cut I had received by a previous hairstylist (from Super Cuts). She assessed the damage that had been done. Listened to me tell her exactly what I wanted and then fixed my hair. It looks amazing! She was friendly and polite, she made me feel comfortable and cared for. I found my new hairstylist.

Michelle Gonzalez has done my hair for more than 20 years. I have followed her around to wherever she practices her talents with hair. She is a very good colorist and hair stylist. She is very knowledgeable on how to fix hair color and highlights. I tried to save myself some money by doing my own bleaching and fried my hair. This is when I realized it’s better to allow a professional to do my hair. I will never bleach my hair on my own. I will let my hairstylist Michelle Gonzalez do my hair since she knows how to do it right the first time. Thanks Michelle.

My daughter needed a last minute haircut. An appt was made with Emily. She not only chopped up her hair unevenly but cut her necklace. Wasn’t worth the 45 dollars. I wish they would have been honest when I asked if she had experience.

Followed Jenna here from Big Tease and of course fabulous job as always! This is my second time getting my Bio Ionic treatment from Jenna and I love it. She always explains everything is great detail. She’s the best!

This salon has a great location and nice atmosphere in the cute downtown area of Monrovia. I followed Jenna here from the Big Tease. because, well I’d follow Jenna anywhere because she is an amazing hairdresser.
I had an awful experience awhile back at another salon and really did not think I would ever be able to trust someone enough to get my hair done again. I gave Jenna a shot though and thank goodness I did. Jenna was so patient with me and always explained exactly what she was doing to my hair to assure me that I didn’t need to worry. My hair is now long, healthy and always changing colors. I’d reccomend any of her services, cut/​dye/​style/​make-​up because I have never left unhappy. —Need a new hairdresser, def. ask for Jenna!

All I can say is that I love Silvia. For years, I went to hairmasters where Silvia cut my hair. I still have to get use to the new location. Silvia has alway been really nice to me and my family. She, always asks about my mom and how she is doing. When my father was sick, my father wanted a haircut but was unable to leave the house or even walk, so I called Silvia and explained what is going on with my dad, and she came over and cut my dad’s hair. Thank you Silvia

Silvia is my holy grail. She used to work at Hairmasters but after they closed she moved here.
The place is so cute, quaint, and clean
I will trust NO ONE else to cut my hair. She’s been cutting it for years and she’s known my family forever. She really listens to what you want and doesn’t make your hair HER version of it. She’s super meticulous and knows what she’s doing.
I am constantly getting compliments on my haircut and I’m always giving out her number. Go see her. You won’t regret it.

I absolutely love getting my hair done at this salon. My stylist is Michelle Gonzalez and I haven’t ever been happier with my hair! I have very rebellious hair and over time Michelle has gotten it so manageable! I have vibrant red hair in which doesn’t fade. I also get the Brazillian Blowout done by her and my hair hasn’t been healthier. I recommend everyone check this amazing salon out! :)

Followed the very talented Jenna here from The Big Tease. Fox and the Hair is bigger, cleaner and much prettier than the other salon! There are more sinks, dryers and stations. Parking can be a bit tough since we went on Friday night during the street fair, but this place is SO worth it! Today was her first day in her new salon so I’m happy we got to come out and support her. The owner of this new place is going to be very happy with all the business she brings in.
Jenna gave me another AMAZING style! I just kinda mumbled about the split ends and gestured to my overgrown bangs and she turned it into a layered, short-​ish cut for summer. It’s plenty long enough to pull back into a pony or bun, which is exactly what I asked for. She also blew my hair out and styled it for me. Since she was about to style it with a round brush, she made sure to show me that my hair was the length I requested, but would look shorter once she curled it with the round brush. I really appreciate that she thinks ahead so there are no freak-​outs later. Despite not seeing her since March, she remembered things we talked about and that made for easy conversation while she worked her magic. She also suggested that I put in a bright color underneath my bangs, which I am definitely considering.
I also watched her work on my mom, who has fine, flat, limp hair. My mom wanted a short cut and Jenna flat-​out told her that it wouldn’t work too well with her hair. She cut in a bunch of layers to add some volume, which worked wonders for my mom, who didn’t want to fuss with her hair each morning.
My favorite thing about Jenna is that she doesn’t over-​style your hair in a way that you’ll never be able to replicate at home. Your hair will look as awesome next month as it did the day you had it cut!
I love that she will give you tips on coloring your own hair or cutting and texturizing your hair at home. But with a stylist as talented as Jenna, you don’t need to do it yourself! Seriously, go to her. She listens. She’s talented. She’s experienced. What more could you ask for?

Sara’s been cutting my hair for few years, she always gives me the best cut, get tons of compliments… she totally rocks!

What a great little salon! After MONTHS of searching for a stylist in this area I finally hit the jackpot with Ingrid! She listened to what I wanted, made super helpful suggestions and I walked out looking like a million bucks! (for a lot less than that!)
I love the atmosphere and vibe of The Fox and the Hair. Will definitely go back soon!
