H&R Block

Don’t ever go here and have Ceda help you or not help you!!! The lack of knowledge and service she has is really really bad!!!

Last year I was served by Terry. He was excellent. He educated me on possible ways to lower my taxes, was obviously well educated, experienced, efficient, and articulate. This time I met with Rosa. She was awful. She suggested I file extra forms that would cost twice the price for her to prepare than they would save me. She was only interested in her own gain, was poorly educated, vague, & unhelpful. I told her I wanted a different preparer and went to the front desk. The woman there was helpful and set up an appointment with someone else. If you have a bad feeling about your assigned preparer, ask for a different one. I’ve had great and awful.

Friendly accurate service, and since it’s corporate there really isn’t any opportunity for them to rip you off or screw up. If they do, you can always ask for a supervisor. Everything is standardized and no-​nonsense, unlike sketchy private accountants with no accountability. Honest, and straightforward. Nothing HR Block charges should come as a suprise-it’s all in black and white on their website and in all their promotional stuff.
I also urge anyone having problems to contact corporate. I had a question about my daughter’s taxes –she was having a problem with the IRS, and I wasn’t satisfied with the answer I was getting from the supervisor. We called their Kansas City headquarters, got several hundred bucks knocked off the bill and they couldn’t have been nicer.

This H&R Block Office in Monrovia has terrible customer service. Grace, my tax preparer, was the only nice person in there. The rest of them can barely speak english or have an understanding on customer service. I don’t like being treated like crap, especially from the idiot at the front counter. Did they hire him from across the border for temporary work? IDIOT! Never again will I take my taxes there. I’ll learn to do them myself. Stay away from here…

Not helpful at all.
My appt was with Cynthia. I knew it was going to be a bad time when i found out there was a language barrier, but i went along with it. This was the first time i have done my taxes with a company as i have done them myself before. I had some bonds my grandmother gave me and she told me i have to pay taxes, and i would owe! She didnt even look at my W2 which if she had, she would have noticed that i had 0 exemptions and was a due a refund EVEN IF i was taxed for the bonds. When i asked her to explain, she scribbled numbers on a pad and expected me to understand. When i didnt, she got frustrated. Eventually I got up to leave and when i grabbed my tax forms, she pulled them out of my hand! I almost lost it then. Before i left she told me that I am rude for being late (I just got off of work and got there as fast as i could) I will NEVER use this location or H&R block for that matter. They are not in it to help, they just want that commission.

Professional, friendly, and relatively quick. I’ve been coming here for the last 3 years.
Well worth it for a professinal to prepare your taxes!
