Aamco Transmissions & Auto Repair

This shop is a disgraced to the name AAMCO. I thought I could thrust this shop with 2005 corvette but man was in wrong. One thing that I didn’t like was they killed my battery and didn’t put my window up over night. Everything in my car isn’t cheap to replace if some one were to steal my indash TV or anything inside the car. One thing Mike mentioned was that he leaves the cars open/​unlocked just to save the thieves from breaking the car window to get into the cars in his lot over night. I took my car the following day I have no trust in leaving my car under there care. I give them 5 thumbs down!

Do Not Take Your Car Here!!! I have been waiting for my car for 5 days. AAMCO kept telling me my car would be ready– I would return my rental car, go to the shop and then they would say «sorry we need another day.» I had to re-​rent and gave them two extra days with my car– they told me it would be ready so again I returned my rental and went to the shop and now they are saying they aren’t done and I may have to rent again. TOTALLY ridiculous and unprofessional. I just hope my car works when I get it back. I am never coming back here again.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I got the worst service I have ever experienced in my 16 years of driving. It took them a week to fix my fuel pump and two weeks later it broke down again, then they refused to refund me the $ for the faulty part. If you have any brains in your head do not take your car to this place

Mike is very upfront, honest and reputable… told me that he could not address my needs for a week… couldn’t wait so I took it to another Aamco. I appreciate the time Mike took to check for the leak, do a cursory diagnosis and give me a projected repair time frame. He contacted me later to see how things went and if I was not satisfied, to bring it back to him to fix… very reliable… appreciate his honesty and integrity.

The hours at this location are Monday-​Friday 08:00 AM-05:30 PM. I went in on Thursday May 29^th, 2014. I arrived 10 minutes before 8 AM, only to find zero parking available. Every spot in the very small lot was taken up by some old heap or other car that needed to get worked on. I had to park in the alley where cars seemed to be constantly driving and having to swerve around me. I saw the shop owner arrive at 8:01 he walked passed my car did’t even bother to say hello or good morning. He entered the location then locked the door behind him. At this point an older gentleman in a gray Honda arrived and had to park inside the driveway blocking the way entirely. At 8:05 a Hispanic man arrived and same thing walked past my car didn’t even bother to say hello or good morning nor did he say hello to the older gent in the grey Honda. But he did unlock he main door and begin to open all the garage doors. This is when I decided to enter the location to be helped. After 20 minutes no one came to greet me or to even check in at the office. So I left, as I was leaving I noticed that the older gent in the grey Honda had not been helped either.

In short, they quoted me a new tranny rebuild for my VW Jetta because they could not figure out why it was slipping. The quote was upwards of $ 3,000. I ended up taking it to a different shop for a second opinion… they found the transmission fluid was low. They topped it off to the proper level for $ 30.00! Stay away…

i took my 89 honda accord in to find out what was causing the engine to shake when i would come to a stop from 4^th gear,
they told me it would take an hour to and hour and a half to diagnose,
i was in the waiting room for 10 minutes before a young guy named Mike came in and told me my 1^st gear was completely gone, he said my car was taking off from second gear. i was given an estimate of $ 1,100 to fix the car and sent me on my way.
he made this assumption just by driving my car around the block.
my car is a 5 speed, when i entered the freeway and accelerated to traffic speed i counted all the shifts which tells me they made an assumption out of sheer laziness and didn’t put any effort into diagnosing my car.
i will never go back to this place
and i wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Worst and most unprofessional service I have ever had. It took them 8−10hrs to Not Fix my truck. They would say,“We will call you at this time.” And 30min– 1hr pass that time I had to call them! That happen Twice in the same day! The second time it happened and I had to call them they didn’t even pick up! I finally had to walk over and stay there until they did anything. And what they did didn’t even fix anything! So I told them that if they order the Ignition Coil I will be there, they told me to be there Saturday at 8am… I was there at that time and still no one was there except other costumers and my self once it got close to 9am; and still no one there, I left and will never go back! I would recommend that people go to anywhere but here.

I took my Ford F-​150 into this Aamco and they told me my transmission was bad and that it needed to be replaced. They could not determine the exact nature and extent of the issue with the transmission but that it cleary needed to be rebuilt.
I then took my vehicle to another mechanic to get an assessment of the value of the truck and determine if I should fix the vehicle or purchase a new one. He quickly determined that all I needed was a tune up. My spark plugs were bad. I cannot believe I almost spent over $ 2,500 on a new transmission that I did not need. I am so disappointed that this Aamco did not perform a simple check on my spark plugs and simply assumed there was a problem with my transmission. I proceeded with the tune up and the truck runs like a champ! No more issues. The unfortunate part is that I had another vehicle serviced here before and I was very happy with their quality but I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone and seriously question Aamco’s integrity and capability.

Took my Tahoe in for oil leaks. Got it back and the same day the shifter got stuck in reverse! Michael the owner says «Nobody’s perfect, My guy just did not push in the clip far enough» With that attitude, I’m surprised he is still in business! That mistake had the potential to cause serious injury to someone and he acted like it was no big deal!

I stopped here when I went to visit a couple of friends in Pasadena when my car was acting up. Not knowing much about cars I decided to go to a well known business I could trust. I usually go to the Aamco’s in San Diego but this was my option at the time. I thought something was going to be wrong with my engine because it was ticking and I thought, great, this is gonna cost me an arm and a leg! However, Michael was so nice and helpful as soon as I arrived. He checked the car out and told me that my oil was very low and that he recommends that I do an oil change. He had a coupon handy and gave me the special price. I thank you for all of your help especially when I was alone and kinda far from home. I will see you again when I am in the area. Thanks Mike! Aamco transmissions is the best in town. the service was great and the help was fantastic. The manager was very helpful and understanding. Thankk You AAMCO, i sure will return soon

Transmission was rebuilt at this location 5 months later it broke down again. I called them up to have the vehicle picked up and they did right away, however they took the truck to the chino location and transported the transmission to Monrovia here it is Friday the day before labor day weekend and the truck is still not fixed 9 days later and I am being told it will not be finished until Tuesday (Maybe). This is a paid in full warranty repair and I am being treated very poorly They got my my money (Over $ 2000) and thats all they care about I would never take my vehicle to them again or any other vehicle
