Sincerely Yogurt

This was a run of the mill frozen yogurt place– many flavors and toppings and standard prices like Orange Leaf or Pinkberry. The atmosphere felt like a Dairy Queen. I would come again though– it’s just one of the few yogurt places in East Pittsburgh.

This overly sweet nonsense is not my thing at all. I could go the rest of my life frozen yogurtless and be totally fine. Yet, this is where I ended up. It wasn’t half bad though.
We were greeted by a VERY enthusiastic employee who could tell this was our first time in the establishment the second we walked in. He walked us through the whole thing. You pay by the ounce, cups are over there, you can get any flavor combination you want and any topping your little heart desires. They serve shakes, smoothies, and bubble tea as well. It’s pretty cool. This employee though… man did he BELIEVE in the yogurt. lol. I hereby nominate the guy working last Sunday night for employee of the month. He made a recommendation for one of my friends that wanted a smoothie, and she ended up really loving it.
At first I was skeptical at the whole pay by the ounce setup, seemed like an easy way to get ripped off. But the prices were pretty reasonable. My husband got a decent serving of frozen yogurt with a bunch of toppings for 4 bucks, which isn’t bad.
They have half a dozen little tables inside where you can hang out and eat. It was filled with crying children when we came in, which made it quite loud since it’s not a very big establishment and it can get kind of echo-​y. But by the time we ordered everything, they were gone and we had the place to ourselves, so it actually was a nice place to sit and talk. So when it’s not crowded, it would probably be a nice alternative to hanging out at Starbucks next door if you find you’re just not in the mood for coffee.

We came into this location somewhat «accidentally.» I have seen it before, and it was right by some other places we were going to.
Inside is pretty clean with nice tables around the perimeter. No one was here except two employees, which was nice. My guess is because it was dreary and cold, and most people don’t seek froyo on these types of days. We were greeted, given sample cups and left alone to do our thing. It was polite and unobtrusive. I liked that.
I sampled the pumpkin pie flavor and apple pie flavor, and they were so phenomenal. I had a hard time choosing which flavors to go with. So good! They have green tea flavor currently as well. I ended up getting a pumpkin pie with cake batter. The flavors are bold and noticeable, not muted like a lot of other places.
They have a nice assortment of toppings with LIDS. I really appreciate this because I feel like it’s cleaner and more contained. I hate getting toppings with a lot of cross contamination.
They sell bubble tea and smoothies here as well. When you buy $ 15 in froyo, you get a bubble tea for free. They also offered us free whipped cream (YES PLEASE!). There are stamp cards too, which is a huge help. A lot of places are phasing those out, but I think it’s a good incentive.
We usually go to Tutti Fruitti in Squirrel Hill, but Sincerely Yogurt is better for a number of reasons. The only downside that makes me give it 4 stars is that it is 49 cents per ounce. Tutti is 41 or 42 cents, but I guess the difference is fine since we don’t have to pay for parking.

Tasty yogurt and toppings… descent experience… However, this place gets pretty hectic on summer weekends, especially with the preteen crowd, and seats can be hard to find. Though I didn’t have a bad experience, I actually would recommend the Waterfront location over this spot. I enjoy wandering around shops and having a pretty outside view when eating my yogurt vs. the parking lot view here.

This place isn’t terrible. I’ve been to better yogurt places though with a little more variety of flavors. I’ve been to worse as well, so overall if I was in the area I wouldn’t hesitate to stop, but wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this one.

My favorite frogurt spot in monroeville. Located in the Miracle mile between starbucks and Anthony’s Coal fire pizza. They usually have about 6 to 8 different varieties of flavors that change about once a month. I love their non-​dairy versions a lot but the the dairy one are non-​fat and very creamy.
I tend to get the fruit flavored frogurt because i’m not much into chocolate. They have a bar of toppings one side is mostly candy, the middle is fruit, and finally random bizarre treats like the mochi which is a soft jelly like candy. The price is 45 cents an ounce which is only a penny difference from other places. I tend to not put fruit like watermelon and grapes on top because the weight is too much and you end up paying $ 2 for 6 grapes. lol I’d suggest eating the smaller lighter topics and adding maybe a syrup or fruit topping.
Me and my fiancé usually go here after a trip to the gym which is our little cheat after a job well done. As long as you don’t over do it on the toppings you could get a good desert for around $ 4 bucks. I’m only giving 4 stars because the two toppings i love the most the puppy chow and red cookie dough bites are no longer being served. They were my absolute favorite and now they no longer have them…:(

Not impressed with this place compared to the other yogurt places; this really depresses me considering it’s so close to my house! Ergh.
Anyways, the customer service was good enough for all that they do, which is greet you and take your money. I got the red velvet yogurt — blech — I definitely should have asked to try it first, but I didn’t see the sample cups so I wasn’t sure if that was an option. On top of the yogurt not being very good, the toppings were super lame. I tend to go for the fruit toppings, but these were NOT fresh and very limited in variety. I was just disappointed overall. The place down by Bed, Bath, and Beyond is at least slightly better, so I would definitely go there first.

First of all, this place wasn’t very easy to find! We went looking for them a few days ago and couldn’t find them, so we ended up going to a competitor. Even their Facebook and Twitter are no more specific than «Miracle Mile.» I sent them a message on Twitter but they didn’t respond. Finally, a friend tipped me off that they were hiding on the back side and in-​between the Starbucks and the new pizza place.
Visited tonight and found a good parking spot, so that wasn’t a problem. The shop was pretty busy and the layout a little awkward – traffic jams near the register and where they keep the cups due to the diagonal placement of the toppings bar. One thing that we found a little off-​putting was the (I assume) manager, who was hovering behind the counter and watching everyone very intensely. It was hard to tell if he was trying to keep an eye on the employees (who all seemed to be doing a great job but were very busy) or the customers. It gave off a sort of unwelcoming vibe which was unexpected in such a cute little shop.
Sample cups were kept behind the counter and when I did see someone ask for one, the employee insisted that she would get the sample. A bit strange, but okay. I didn’t feel like keeping one employee busy sampling several flavors so I went with what was easy – the chocolate and the dulce de leche yogurts. I do feel like their flavors are stronger than other places I’ve been lately, so that’s a bonus.
I also enjoyed the variety of toppings – waffle cone bits are genius! – but missed the cereal toppings that I’ve seen elsewhere. Everything was mostly replenished and very clean. The scoops were a little small and awkward to use and it seemed like they caused spills occasionally. They do have a variety of sauce toppings – when we were there they had butterscotch, chocolate, peanut butter, and marshmallow crème. They also have punch-​cards that you get when you check out so you can accumulate rewards, which is nice.
They had an okay amount of seating but I did see a lot of people heading back out to their cars since the three tables were full. As I finished my yogurt, my friend pointed out that they had free wi-​fi. I hadn’t noticed, but sure enough, a sign by the door was announcing just that. I tried to connect to it, however, and found that it was password-​protected. On the way out the door as I got closer to the sign I noticed the tiny print below that said to contact the manager for the password. That seems to defeat the purpose of having «free wi-​fi» to begin with, especially combined with the forbidding manner of the guy who hovered behind the counter watching everyone like a hawk constantly. Either unlock it and implement one of those «I agree to the terms and conditions» welcome pages, or don’t bother. I can’t imagine too many people are going to bother asking.
Anyway, on virtue of the yogurt and toppings alone, it’s a good value and a nice treat. Location is so-​so, and the employees were great, but the weird situation with the manager and the wi-​fi left me with a bit of a strange taste in my mouth. Would still go back, but if the little things that make you feel sort of unwelcome are still happening in a month or two I’ll probably end up favoring the guys just down the street…

Nothing beats being able to concoct your own delicious dessert, so obviously this place cannot go wrong in the «yum» and «stomach-​satisfied» category. However, in the variety category, this place was a little lacking.
They only had about 10 flavors to choose from, and the cookies and cream was out. sadness. However, the red velvet and peanut butter were absolutely delicious. Their toppings were also not as plentiful as some of the other build your own yogurt places I have been to on the West Coast, but I am sure with some time they will have plenty more toppings.
Good news, they have two new flavors that will be arriving shortly! 45 cents an ounce will not stop me from adding that third scoop of reeses!
