#1 Cochran Mazda – Monroeville

Needed to get some mileage service done and an oil change. I recently moved to Pittsburgh from out of state so I needed to find somewhere to take care of my Mazda. I didn’t even realize my inspection was up next month but they were able to do that for me while I was there too. I had made an appointment a few days before so it was really convenient, didn’t take long at all, and Greg was friendly and helpful with my car. Great service and I’ll definitely be going back.

I went here with my son who was hunting for a certified used car. It was early evening when we arrived. This dealership is part of a megaplex of other makes and models all in the same complex.
My son had a reservation for a car he was interested in. They now have this type of computer that can give you a baseline for your trade and of course they will look at it to boot.
He asked for a test drive. The dealer showed us where to go for about a 5 minute spin. This is not my idea of a test drive but I know many dealerships do that. This car was a 2012 model with about 55,000 miles which I thought would be a bit excessive for that year unless the previous owner did a lot of traveling.
We returned and wanted to barter with them over pricing but they just showed us the CARFAX report and comparables. Course the pressure tactics were on which I can’t stand that we would get a slightly higher discount if he committed immediately.
I had to ask about vehicle servicing. Even though that area would have been closed for the day it would have been nice to know where it was located. Please note I did learn that if you take your vehicle here for servicing they will only drive you within a 5 mile radius. Since the car he was looking at was certified pre owned he could take it to any Mazda dealership in the city.
There were a couple of other issues we pointed out about that car but they just showed us that some of their other cars have the same issues.
The complex sits on the downhill just after you pass the PA turnpike entrance between Monroeville and Murraysville. I know they will haggle us to buy just to make their commission but I felt we deserved better. Believe me, this is not one place I would look for a vehicle for myself and probably won’t return.

The folks and priorities at Cochran made this an amazing experience! After several months of research, I made an appointment to test drive a car. Charmaine responded quickly to all my emails and calls, and Fran and Brian were ready to meet me at the end of the business day. They could not have been more helpful.
I had already looked up the Consumer Reports Guide cost information and found that their price was lower than expected for this area. The car was just as the website reported and the whole experience, from walking in to signing paperwork with Joyce, was a pleasure.
I would recommend Cochran any time. They care about taking care of people first, and let the business take care of itself.
