Tula’s is now Osteria Romana. Saw the signs a couple of times in the last 2 weeks when driving by.

Great atmosphere, very good drinks and food. They need to find a way to come down on the prices. It was a little expensive for what we got.

Wow! The«hot and moody» appetizer(potato chips topped with bechamel, Gorgonzola, and balsamic reduction) is out of this world as are the beef tips. The entrees were equally flavorful, but I am looking forward to coming back for drinks and appetizers soon. Also, I love that they offer Ferris Acres Creamery ice cream on their dessert menu. This spot is a personal favorite of mine in the area.

Went for lunch with my family this afternoon and the food and service was excellent. They have a great lunch special from 11:30 to 3pm. $ 14 for soup or salad, choice of lunch and coffee or tea afterwards. Calamari was delicious as well. I had an IPA from Veracious in Monroe and the server, Jeannette, came over later to offer me a sample of a new IPA they just tapped which was really sweet. Overall excellent service and food.

We ate dinner at Tula this past Saturday night and the experience was a disaster. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation and we were told the table was being cleared. While we were waiting another party of three was seated that clearly did not have s reservation. The manager bought the two drinks we ordered at the bar. When we were finally seated my husband ordered a beer and it took three try’s for them to bring him the correct beer. We ordered our dinner and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. My dinner never came when I questioned our waiter he said he would check with the kitchen. They sent over a waitress to apologize saying she had given my meal to her customer who had ordered the same meal. We reassured her that it was clearly not her fault and an error of the kitchen or the dinner would have been prepared for the other customer. About 15 minutes later when my husband and daughter had finished their meals my dinner came out of the kitchen. I promptly told them to bring it back. I approached the manager to share my concerns and his response was«well you have had your say» followed by a shrug of his shoulder. We will never return. The worst experience I have had In years

I came here tonight with my family to celebrate 3 birthdays. We had made a reservation originally for 8, but one person ended up not going. We were seated immediately upon arrival to a quiet table in the back, right next to the patio. The place was completely empty except for a 4-top. Mind you it’s 6pm on a Sunday night in Monroe, didn’t expect it to be busy. Our drink order was taken right away, and drinks were promptly brought out. Our food order took a little longer to place, but that was ok since 2 of the people at my table couldn’t decide what to order. We ordered a few apps which came out quickly. We ordered: tuna tartar, Ruben spring rolls, and French onion soup(soup of the day). The tuna was amazing, served over fresh guac and cucumber slices with soy sauce. The Ruben spring rolls were also amazing and very inventive, you never see anything like it. It came with a side of Russian dressing. The soup, I didn’t get to taste, but was told it was a bit salty. I’m sure it wasn’t. For out entrée we ordered: Chatham cod served over parmesan risotto with mixed veggies(mine), chicken flatbread pizza that had arugula and pears, 2 burgers, filet mignon served with green beans and a potato lasagna, chicken cordon bleu served with mashed potatoes and green beans, and a lobster roll. All the food was delicious, and everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken however could have come out of the oven a bit sooner. The staff was very friendly and fulfilled all our requests. I will definitely be back!

Where Captains Pizza used to be many years ago. Go for the ambiance and drinks, food is just OK.

We are from Maryland and came across this place, sooo happy. The Ruben wraps were so good we had a second order. My mom and the kids had the Chicken Flatbread and all loved it, and I had the Sole. YUM. Service was great. Joe was serving everyone and did a great job.

We recently had my daughter’s bridal shower brunch at Tula and could not be more pleased. It was a totally great experience! The food(omelets, waffles, home fries, bacon, sausage, pancakes) was delicious, plentiful and served hot. The mimosa and bloody mary’s were served promptly and each of the 40 guests was very well taken care of. The wait staff was very attentive and the owner was unobtrusively in attendance throughout the party to assure that everything was done to our satisfaction. The décor is upscale. I would highly recommend them for a party or a night out. We’d been to Tula several times previously for dinner and always had great experiences with the food and service. Will definitely be going back. Joyce R.

Fantastic dish of cod over risotto served on the patio on a beautiful summer evening. Home run. Nice attentive service. Would definitely go back

Terrific, middle of the day, middle of the week, middle of a typical Connecticut January when the weather cannot decide whether to be quiet or fussy, plus the kicker: having lunch with my absolutely favorite client. Due to the lateness of the day, the privacy was welcomed, accompanied by the attention, yet unobtrusive service. Enough has been said, by so many, about the food, so, I will add more: consistent, moderately priced, perfect lunch portions. Just well done. Bravo!

Giving 4 stars based on how it ranks in the area… This is quite possibly the best fine dining experience in Monroe/Trumbull. I loved the service, the décor, the drinks and the food from apps to dessert.

Our second time to Tula. Love this place. Tonight my husband and I decided to go out and grab something casual at the bar. The service was fantastic. One of my new favorites, Two Roads Holiday Ale was on tap-bonus. While this place has a very upscale appearance, the staff is very welcoming and it quickly becomes quite homey. I had the 89 Main-an eggplant wrap. It was delicious. My husband had the portobello chicken and loved it. His only comment was that it needed mushrooms. The menus is very diverse but not overwhelming. After dinner we chatted with the new owner. What a nice gentleman. We wish him much success and plan to frequent Tula. We encourage everyone who is looking for a dining experience that’s not too fancy but not too shabby to try them out. You won’t be disappointed.

A nice place for a treat as they are a bit pricy. The most difficult thing to deal with is the parking. I enjoy the Calamari & Zucchini Fritti to begin and my wife likes the Cast Iron«Beef Tips» but two appetizers and you have already spent $ 25.00. Add the filet mignon and the salmon and a couple of cocktails and you are the bill can easily go over $ 100.00 for a couple. But service is usually good and I have never had a bad meal. The cocktail list is excellent and you can save a bit by ordering wine by the glass instead of cocktails but you would be missing out on some very tasty drinks.

Great all round I would have done 3.5 stars if you could. Calamari, tuna tartare, Caesar, steak tips, pappardelle seafood. Apple tart, tiramisu. Nothing blew my mind but all was good or very good.
