Richards Pizza has been a local favorite in Butler County since 1955. Get pizza, sandwiches, calzones, pasta, salads and our fresh fudge at our Monroe location just off of Interstate 75 at Route 63 on American Way. We now have gluten-​free pizza!

History

Established in 1955.

Richard Underwood sold his first «Richards Pizza» in 1955 and created the world-​famous Richards Steak Sandwich in 1956. The sauces are still prepared from the same secret family recipes. There are now 5 Richards locations.

Richards makes the best steak sandwiches I have ever eaten. However, if you want to try their best, don’t order this sandwich with the traditional pizza sauce. You want their regular hoagie sauce and you’ll want to order an extra small container of this sauce on the side for dipping. I order this sandwich without onion, extra cheese, mushrooms, regular sauce, and an extra small container of sauce on the side. You will not be disappointed! Their pizza is equally delicious!

Yuck! The «steak» sandwich was awful. A subpar meat-​like patty slapped together haphazardly with nearly half an onion and way too much sauce. I was hungry and couldn’t even make it through one half of the sandwich because it was just that nasty. Overpriced, disgusting food and pretty much nonexistent «service». I would not recommend this place and we’ll never go back.

Richard’s pizza is awesome! You pay for what you get… If you want your $ 5 large dominos crap, don’t come here. Richard’s uses fresh ingredients and the crust is amazing! If you want a delicious veggie pizza, the veggie de– lite is incredible! Whole wheat crust and fresh veggies … Amazing!
If it’s pizza night at my house, I’ll spend a few extra bucks for this quality pizza!

We stopped by Richards Pizza for the first time tonight and it was amazing! The loaded potato pizza was great and so was the deep dish double cheese and pepperoni pizza. You could taste that the sauce was homemade. If you stop by you have to finish your meal with their handmade fudge! Yummy!!! We WILL be back!

yuck… might as well buy JTM patties and make your own sub. I told the server twice NO GREEN PEPPERS on my sub, so what did I get? green peppers. it wasnt remade, the peppers were taken off… pizza sucks too. been there twice hoping it would be better, wont go back. ever.

Overpriced and arrogant. I asked if they had any specials and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. I will say though, some of the employees were nice, they even told me that they too have asked their boss why they had no specials/​coupons/​deals and they said that they too got the same response. I guess we’ll be eating elsewhere.

Ho-​Hum. Maybe my hopes were a little too high or perhaps once you have a Philly Cheese Steak in Philidelphia, nothing else can compare, but I have to say that Richards Pizza left something to be desired. Based on descriptions of this place as a «local favorite» and the fact that they have their own Richards mascot, cups, and napkins, my hopes were pretty up there. I ordered the specialty steak sandwich and my order came out with about a ten minute wait time and it was missing the sauce. The fries were unusual but not very tasty plus the sandwich was nothing special and gave me a stomach ache. I’d give this restaurant a theme song of «best thing I never had.» by Beyonce
